With the exception of Artemisia and Marissa, this is my favorite Paul Thomas movie yet. It doesn't come close to the brilliance of the Fashionistas but it's still a worth while effort. The film is stylish and parts of it are well written. However, I felt it borrowed too heavily on a mainstream fashion film, Robert Altman's Prêt-à-Porter. The Southern belle TV reporter who interviews the major characters in the film, the criminal husband stealing a guest's luggage from the hotel, the French-Canadian assistant sneaking into a room to retrieve compromising photos and ending up in a closet with the husband. These are each clear plot points taken from Prêt-à-Porter. The most blatant use of the Prêt-à-Porter storyline, however, involves two characters portrayed by Faith & Marcos Leon. They play strangers, both married, who are accidentally assigned the same room at the hotel. After realizing the mix up, there's a mad dash to see who can get to the room first. Later, they hook up. I never really understood the need to link these things--either you need a full-blown plot or just give me a compilation. But whatever. The acting sucks, so there's not really much left except the sex. Five scenes, three are boy/girl, two are two guys and one girl. Devon is featured in one of each. In scene one a cowboy train robber (!) boffs the one passenger in the car, Anna Mills. This is a classic release from Elegant Angel but it has stayed with me for 10 years! It's A Daddy Thing is a classic series from Elegant and this edition is directed by Patrick Collins! I've had this title for awhile and I don't know I'm just not into domination stuff I guess, not at least to the degree this one goes. The slapping and hair pulling I know is part of the deal with this type of scene but when the girls practically crying in pain like Tory Lane was at times in her scene with Mark Davis I was about as far from turned on as I could get. It's got a top notch cast of talent so far as features go in Randy Spears, Stephen St. Croix, Avena Lee, and Kirsten Price who I think had just become a Wicked Girl when this was shot. The jist of the story is Stormy's character feeling like she's being watched, that there's some kind of presence she senses often when she wakes up at night, etc. Of course it's all true but there's a perfectly natural explanation for this. Randy tries to play the good husband and Avena and Stephen their good close friends who both seem concerned about the behaviour of Stormy. The story progresses ok with mostly hints of the supposed watching with no actual overt signs save for a shower scene where Stormy goes out when she thinks she's heard something and coming back the words I See you are traced in the mist of the mirror. This is a compilation dvd from Wicked Studios similar to Wong Way Home. It's typical of Wicked productions, a mix of scenes from features and all sex titles featuring asian girls. The women are beautiful, with special notice to Asia Carrera, Lucy Thai, Katsumi, and the blue ribbon winner, Kaylani Lei. The scene with Randy Spears and Lucy thai is a hot, lots of chemistry, lots of energy, and the final shot of Lucy with a frosted chin is worth the price of the dvd. This is an excellent disc, and a very good movie, and it doesn't suprise me coming from Jonathan Morgan. The sex nicely supports the movie, and vice versa. The 19 year olds are great, don't get me wrong, and Kelly Kline is not much past that, but most of the cast has some good experience in both acting and screwing on camera, and that really helps to put together a film that has a "worth watching" story, and some hot sex in it. Ok just reviewed a teen dvd and thought I'd stick with that theme for at least one more dvd and actually can't most porn dvds be a teen theme,lol. This one has the ultra hot Nautica Thorn on the cover and she is joined there by a newbie named Holly Morgan.
