Devil's Due review summaries:
fu_q's
Traumatized by one awful experience after another, a young, promising high school graduate, Cindy West, ultimately finds herself both without a voice and also initiated into a sexualized, satanic, New York City cult. With her hatred of men growing by the minute, and the cult's leader, Guy Thomas, interested in only one thing from his flock, it remains to be seen whether Cindy will fall victim yet again or whether she'll rise above it all and find solace (and revenge) in the arms of her lord, Satan. Such is the case in "Devil's Due", an overall-good, 1973 release from director Ernest Danna and re-mastered by Vinegar Syndrome. [read the full review]

X-Rated: The Greatest Adult Movies of All Time review summaries:
fu_q's
"X-Rated: The Greatest Adult Movies of all Time" is a good, albeit fluffy, documentary hosted by Chanel Preston that offers up about an hour-and-a-half's worth of material that puts forth its creators' views of the best that the adult genre has to offer. Documenting films both past and present, the selections start with the "Deep Throat" era and go up essentially through the modern day (...to, say, about five years ago). [read the full review]

X-Rated: The Greatest Adult Films of All-Time is a fun look at a series of films and movies that are culturally important to the adult entertainment industry from 1972 until 2013. X-Rated skimps on the historical impact that each of the included films had. However, the documentary is a nostalgic look through some of the best films to ever grace the blue screen. After the documentary is over, if you are a fan of feature films, you will want to rewatch films you had forgotten about and seek out others that you have missed. X-Rated is definitely a fun watch for fans of the feature film genre. [read the full review]

When a wheeling-and-dealing businessman, played by Alan Marlow, suspects his ultra-active wife, the lovely blonde, Barbara Bourbon, of cheating on him during her various afternoon activities, only a pervy, self-described "peeping tom" and private eye, Eric Edwards, can help him uncover the truth. Of course, as it turns out, that truth may not be everything that it initially seems. This is a classic film that I’m sure everyone has heard of. VCX has just released a 40th anniversary edition (never mind that it’s only 36 years old) in a special 2-disk “Definitive Collector’s Edition). Every porn fan should at least have an understanding of the classics and should view this film at least once. Porn has evolved greatly since DMJ was mad (and for the better, IMO). Easy (Cal Vista) review summaries:
fu_q's
An unintentional encounter with a loser student leads a repressed-though-sexual, young teacher, Jesie St. James, down a dirty and ultimately unfulfilling path. Indeed, it seems that no matter which turn she takes in her life thereafter--for love, for lust, or for both--Jesi is destined for erotic despair. Such is the case in "Easy", a very good, 1978 release from VCX and director Anthony Spinelli. [read the full review]

Ring Of Desire (Gourmet) review summaries:
fu_q's
When a desperate girl on the street sells Kevin James a ring that she stole from her father, his (...sexual...) luck changes...and so does everyone else's who comes into possession of the bejeweled band. Such is the case in "Ring of Desire", a good, 1981 release from Peter Balakoff and Gourmet Video. Indeed, the ring finds itself passed around the various corners--and between the assorted characters--of Hollywood, from lawyers to actresses to writers to prostitutes and so on, and whoever owns it at the time finds him- or herself quite lucky (...as in "getting lucky"...). With a clever, though simple plot, good acting, a number of shorter sex scenes, and a strong cast, this little fuck-flick from yesteryear is actually a lot of fun and worthy of a watch...particularly for fans of the classics. Babylon Pink review summaries:

Offering up spicy fantasies in juxtaposition to the banality of everyday life, "Babylon Pink" follows the lives and carnal conjurings of a variety of city women of differing ages and social standing, some related more closely than others. Indeed, this exceptional, 1979 release from Cecil Howard and Henri Pachard contrasts the vibrance of the sexual imagination with the sadness of reality and its drab dickings in such a way as to highlight the superiority of the former as it exists in the unsated longings (and lustings) of its multiple characters. Inside Deep Throat review summaries:
Ryder7's
A documentary exploring the societal impact the adult film known as Deep Throat had on mainstream America. "Deep Throat" was just another X-Rated adult film when it was made in 1972. Finished in six days, for the sum of $25,000, (financed by the mob) the film to date has grossed over $600 Million dollars. Inside Deep Throat makes a decent albeit incomplete attempt at explaining how & why it became so popular. The documentary explores the subject of pornography, and how the U.S. Government under Nixon had a problem with it. It's interesting to note the timeliness of this documentary in light of the current Bush Administrations' recent witchhunting pronouncement on an all new "war on porn"... It seems the events of 30 years ago are trying to replay themselves and makes Inside Deep Throat a must see. Deep Throat was made by former hairdresser and acclaimed porn director Gerard Damiano and starred an actress who went by the screen name of Linda Lovelace. [read the full review]

That isn't to say it is not an enjoyable film to watch, but expect more of an overview of culture in the 70s and the rise of adult films then than a documentary that manages to focus directly on Deep Throat. Fans of films from the Golden Age will probably enjoy this film and viewers who don't understand why some adult movie studios are afraid of going to jail for content in adult films should watch this film as well. I'd recommend giving the film a rental over purchasing it. [read the full review]

It's all about loving 'em and leaving 'em when the smooth-talking John Leslie's over-the-top, male strip review, which is aiming for the stars but mired on the bottom, finds its way to a cowpoke town in the middle of nowhere. Indeed, the guys are born for the road, whether they realize it or not (...or like it or not...), and the fanciful ladies of the little berg are ultimately left feeling the repercussions in the wake of their unabashed, testosterone-fueled tide. Such is the case in "The Dancers", a very good, 1981 release from VCX and director Anthony Spinelli. [read the full review]

Armand Weston was one of the finest directors ever to make hardcore films. Although he usually crafted dark and depressing tales, this 1978 film was his foray into comedy. With a fantastic cast of regulars, and Leslie Bovee as the female lead, Weston crafted a wonderful, skilfully acted, sumptuously shot, and cleverly written parody of films of American culture from the 30s to the 60s. This 1978 feature directed by "Armand Weston" is a good example of "golden age" adult filmmaking. The plot is a take off on the Oscar Wilde story, "The Picture of Dorian Grey." The protagonist's name has been changed from Dorian Grey to "Darrin Blue," (played amazingly by Wade Nichols). And instead of a painting, his youthful image is captured on a porn film that his liberated 1920's flapper girlfriend (Georgina Spelvin) secretly had made of them making love outdoors. When she shows it to him later, he wishes that the image on the film could get old, and that he could stay youthful forever. You might have guessed that that is exactly what happens. The 1930s have Wade Nichols doing a remarkable imitation of James Cagney, during the 1940s, he's doing Humphrey Bogart (and Annette Haven). During the 50s, he's doing James Dean and making love on his motocycle. During the 1960s, still as youthful as ever, he is, you guessed it, a hippie doing drugs and having an orgy. Since this was shot in the 1970s, that brings us up to the present. [read the full review]

Teenage Twins is a very quickly developed and shot film that only exists due to Carter Stevens finding twins that would perform together. While far from the worst to come from the era, it is also far from the best to come from the era. The release by VCX isn't great, but isn't horrific either. However, better releases exist.
