Devil's Due Review

Review:
Traumatized by one awful experience after another, a young, promising high school graduate, Cindy West, ultimately finds herself both without a voice and also initiated into a sexualized, satanic, New York City cult. With her hatred of men growing by the minute, and the cult's leader, Guy Thomas, interested in only one thing from his flock, it remains to be seen whether Cindy will fall victim yet again or whether she'll rise above it all and find solace (and revenge) in the arms of her lord, Satan. Such is the case in "Devil's Due", an overall-good, 1973 release from director Ernest Danna and re-mastered by Vinegar Syndrome. Featuring a solid cast, including Cindy West as the lead and Andrea True in a strong supporting role, along with a fairly well-developed storyline, this flick certainly holds up in terms of its plot. Indeed, the offerings are dark from the onset, and they remain so...if not getting more so...throughout. While there is plenty of sex in this film, it's often intentionally unsexy, and, as such, it fits in with the tone of the offerings quite well. As for production values, Vinegar has done a very good job, as always, though the source material does show its age. The colors are faded, and the picture is a touch grainy and on the lower-resolution side. For many, this will simply add to the vintage feel, and it's certainly nothing that makes the film difficult to watch. Generally speaking, fans of Golden Age adult fare featuring a darker, though decently-developed, premise that's a bit on the trippy, 1970's bizarre side will like this one. While its audience is probably limited, it is a good release.

In terms of the sex, Scene One finds a young woman who's graduating from high school as the class valedictorian, Cindy West, paired up with the school's principal, after the latter slips her a mickey. West's character rolls in and out of semi-consciousness in this one, as the creepy-creeperton effectively rapes her, taking advantage of her orally and vaginally (pop on her bush and tummy). (Gross from start to finish.) In Scene Two, Cindy West takes a pounding atop one of the motorcycles from her boyfriend, Davey Jones, at his shop. This one, which offers up some softcore vaginal action followed by hardcore oral , is as awkward as it is inventive. It ends with West sucking and jerking him to a load on her face and mouth. Scene Three brings together Cindy's father and her best friend, Lisa Grant, after the latter comes onto him hard... including kissing on him and rubbing his crotch through his corduroy pants. It doesn't take long for dear old dad to succumb to her youthful, feminine wiles, getting it on with her orally and vaginally in various areas of the house (pop on her bush and pussy out of reverse-cowgirl). In Scene Four, Andrea "More, More, More" True, Cindy West's new roommate, and a wacked-out cult leader, Guy Thomas, initiate Cindy--who's tied to a sacrificial table--into their satanic circle of worshippers. Both women fellate Thomas, and he sinks his scepter into West's innocent pink (pop on Cindy's tits and tummy, with a lap-up by True). Scene Five brings together the trio of roommates, all three devil lovers, Darby Lloyd Rains, Andrea True, and Cindy West, after Cindy's confided in the other two about her past abuses at the hands of men. A sensual, fairly soft, girl-girl mini-orgy ensues in their shared living room. In Scene Six, Cindy West rides the leader's, Guy Thomas', cock. Guy's now the one who's tied down upon the table, as he has accepted a leadership challenge from Andrea. This sequence, performed in front of the congregation, also involves spazzed-out--almost comical--dancing by one of the female members in the foreground (no cum-shot). Scene Seven offers up an orgy of the flesh in Satan's honor, after an abrupt change in leadership in the cult. Involved in the ritualistic romp are the likes of Darby Lloyd Rains, Georgina Spelvin, Tina Russell, Andrea True, Marc Stevens, Jamie Gillis, and more. The action is all oral and vaginal, and a handful of cum-shots are interspersed at various points throughout. A bizarre ending to a dark, though interesting, film.
