China Girl is a great feature film to have come from the 1970s featuring a fun plot, nice sex scenes, and good acting. Fans of plotted feature films should find a lot to like here. Vinegar Syndrome has done an excellent job with their release of China Girl with an absolutely stellar image and audio. The release is light on extras, however, the quality of the film on the release is worth the purchase alone. [read the full review]

Mixing science and sexuality to help its clients fulfill their most intimate and deepest of desires, "Sex World" is a resort that ushers in groups of hand-picked tourists who are looking for a bit more out of their getaway than the standard vacation has to offer. Indeed, they're seeking sexual liberation and fulfillment--in one form or another--and Sex World is just the place to give it to them. Of course, along the way, the complexity and intricate, interwoven nature of human sexuality is explored. Such is the case in Anthony Spinelli's 1977 release of the same title, a landmark film in the history of adult fare. [read the full review]

Dracula Sucks is an odd, high budget, and very fun adult film, which could have only come out of the 1970s adult film industry. While constantly trying to straddle the line of mainstream comedy and adult horror, and never 100 percent succeeding at any of these tasks, the end result is a unique experience that has a lot to offer viewers looking for more than just copulation. The print isn't perfect, but is better than any release prior. [read the full review]

This release from Vinegar Syndrome collects two films from director Alan Colberg and star John Holmes. Tapestry of Passion, the eighth Johnny Wadd film, doesn't fit in well with the series, but is an amazing adult film from the 1970s and should not be missed. All Night Long is a comedy, which is okay but nowhere on the level of Tapestry of Passion. The presentation of both films by Vinegar Syndrome is amazing. [read the full review]

The first installment of Sex Slaves of Satan featured several cool rape and violent sex scenes from 1970s classic porn. Visions Of Clair review summaries:
Flash's
Zachary Strong attempted to do something new and original with Visions of Clair. However, the end result is sadly an incoherent mess. The story goes all over the place and doesn't ever make sense of itself and the majority of the sex scenes are shot and edited in a way that makes them completely inaccessible. Visions of Clair is an easy film to skip. Cal Vista has done an acceptable job with their release with a watchable picture and listenable audio but not much more. [read the full review]

VISIONS OF CLAIR (1977) is a Cal Vista Classic re-release on DVD of the 1977 VHS video. The box art description (in part) states - "A film in the style of Emmanuelle, but with a raw passion of The Story of O. Clair has a powerful, almost supernatural attraction to those about her. Living alone in her stately mansion, she attracts the most fascinating men and women to her estate, where seemingly bound her aberrant desires, they eagerly give themselves sexually to her and to each other." I like Annette Haven, she has done some excellent films and this description captured my interest. The only part of this description I recognized after viewing the film was "almost supernatural." When a hulking, beast of a man, Rocky De Sade (played by Ken Turner), is released from prison and begins wreaking havoc all over town, a group of San Francisco prostitutes, S & M enthusiasts, and sexual freaks has little choice but to take matters into their own hands to stop the scourge. For the Love Of Pleasure review summaries:
Oddobsessionmovies'
As with the TVX release of (Anna) Obsessed, the film "For The Love Of Pleasure" and the TVX release of said film are very different, so different in places that when watching the uncut version it almost feels like a new movie. That said, the following is a review of the original uncut version off of a 1986 Essex Home Video tape. Anyone even marginally familiar with hardcore films of the 1970s has undoubtedly heard of Annette Haven and Jamie Gillis and as familiar as I am with their work, their roles in this 1979 film has always seemed a bit odd, even by 70s hardcore standards. The plot: **HEREIN MAY LAY SPOILERS** Jamie Gillis is Simon, a down on his luck, petty thief who makes the mistake of breaking into the home of a woman who, upon seeing him, forces him to have sex with her then shoots him to death when her husband comes home. It should be noted that Jamie keeps his gym shoes on throughout the entire sex scene... Gillis ends up in the afterlife where he is greeted by Annette Haven (God?) who provides him with an endless supply of women, food, and finery. [read the full review]

When trying to examine a classic hardcore film, one must take several things into consideration: 1) The acting/plot might not be as good or coherent as one might like, and what is usually left is akin to grade B Hollywood fare. 2) There will probably be too much sex and it will take away from the story. 3) The production values won't always be top notch. Well China Girl is one of those rare films that truly does work "both ways" so to speak. In one sense, it is a sex filled hardcore romp and on the other hand, a rather mild B-movie style spy yarn. Featuring the beautiful Annette Haven in her first major starring role, China Girl revolves around a silly storyline of a secret government science project to create a drug which makes people have to tell everything they know about some prompted topic, sort of like truth serum, I guess. Sound confusing? To be honest, the exact purpose of this drug is never made clear so forgive me. [read the full review]

It's sex, lies, and audiotape, when a corrupt, hypocritical politician (Paul Thomas)--whose anti-porn campaigning is almost as flagrant as his ass-obsessed womanizing--opts to make a run for the Senate in the state of New York. Of course, behind him are myriad sordid characters, including a lowlife pimp (Joey Silvera), a more-and-more jealous by-the-minute assistant (Annette Heinz), and a German real estate tycoon seeking favors (R. Bolla)...all aiding him in maintaining both his campaign and his false, squeaky clean image. The only person standing in his way? A courageous reporter (Annette Haven) who's both onto his game and looking to show him for who he really is. Such is the case in "Public Affairs", a very good, 1983 release from Caballero and director Henri Pachard. [read the full review]

How does one review a cut version of an alternate cut? I suppose I'll begin with a bit of background. In 1976, when the term talent in relation to hardcore films didn't mean that a movie included 5 anal scenes or an "actress" was willing to do a creampie, many TALENTED filmmakers lent their hands (and minds) to high class, high budgeted, hardcore productions. Barriers were broken as more and more controversial material was allowed into hardcore productions. Even so, some still pushed the line a bit too far. (Anna) Obsessed was born in 1976, and released simply under the title Obsessed (a title which inexplicably remains on every single video I've ever seen of this film, even though all the boxes say Anna Obsessed). The film was either to strong, or perhaps to depressing and realistic for both critics and audiences, for it disappeared from screens as quickly as it had arrived. Towards the end of 1977 however, Obsessed reemerged as Anna Obsessed. [read the full review]

Memphis Cathouse Blues review summaries:
fu_q's
It's going to take plenty of courage, hope, and sex (...and more than a bit of luck...) to keep open the "Feline Farm", a longstanding, Deep South brothel operated by Annette Haven, when a local preacher sics his Bible-thumping flock on the establishment. Such is the case in "Memphis Cathouse Blues", an overall-good, 1982 release from director Louis Lewis and Caballero. [read the full review]

A medicore movie from the "golden age" of features (1982) it's patterned after "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" with Annette Haven as the madame and Mike Horner as the sheriff who loves her. The movie is so-so but the DVD transfer is feces. If you want to see the movie, find it on VHS or Beta or on streaming video. [read the full review]

Grafenberg Spot, The review summaries:
fu_q's
When the sexually dysfunctional Ginger Lynn scares off the guy of her dreams, Harry Reems, by squirting in his face during cunnilingus, she seeks professional help in the form of a renowned doctor, Annette Haven, who specializes in G-spot orgasms, in order to get him back. Reshaping Harry's attitudes ultimately becomes the focus of Annette's attention, and whether or not the couple will get back together and overcome their differences or not remains the question of the day. Such is the case in "The Grafenberg Spot", a very good, 1985 release from the Mitchell Brothers and Artie Mitchell himself. [read the full review]

Corey Thomas'
The Mitchell Brothers' "Grafenberg Spot" was a movie described in the book "Bottom Feeders" as a "six-day wonder shot to fund legal expenses". By the sounds of that description, you would think that the movie is a piece of shit. "The Grafenberg Spot", however is a quite watchable, and actually very entertaining film that while doesn't reach the standards of "Behind the Green Door" or "The Resurrection of Eve", is still a must-see in the adult genre. The cast in this movie are amazing. It is certainly a who's who of adult cinema in 1985. Ginger Lynn, Harry Reems, Annette Haven, John Holmes, Amber Lynn, Nina Hartley, Lili Marlene, Rick Savage. Traci Lords was in the original version of the film. Story tells of a comparative literature graduate named Leslie (played by Ginger), who has the habit of pissing in her lover's (Harry Reems) face while getting eaten out. She goes to a clinic where a doctor (Annette Haven) teaches her about the Grafenberg pleasure spot. [read the full review]

Golden Age Of Porn, The: Annette Haven review summaries:

It's difficult to imagine a name that conjures up an image of elegance, grace, and beauty in the minds of early-era porn fans quite like that of Annette Haven. Indeed, one of the truly stunning, classical brunette beauties of porn's yesteryear, Ms. Haven stood alone atop the carnal food chain for the entirety of her career...and this release, "The Golden Age of Porn: Annette Haven", serves as a fine compilation highlighting both her work and her sexuality. Tell Them Johnny Wadd Is Here review summaries:
fu_q's
Nothing but trouble (...and sex...) follows, when Johnny Wadd (John Holmes) is called down to Mexico to help his old war buddy (Damon Christian) take on a drug dealer who's married Damon's junkie ex-wife (Veronica Taylor). Such is the case in "Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here", a tepid 1976 release from Arrow Productions. While the plot is fairly good for a porno of its era (...despite its narrated storyline motif and jumpiness at times...), and there's a decent amount of cheesy, shoot-'em-up style action, the sex itself is incredibly tame...especially given that the legendary cocksman, Holmes, is involved. Indeed, there's plenty of fine fucking to be found in releases from the time period, just not here. There are also better plots from the era, as well. [read the full review]

Overall, Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here is an average adult film. Viewers that are new to the series will probably want to check out some of the better entries first as this film may not want them to see the rest of the Johnny Wadd series. Fans of the series will want to pick up the disc so they can complete their Johnny Wadd collection. Viewers that like long sex scenes or hate tame sex scenes will want to skip this title along with viewers that hate plotted porn. [read the full review]

Spirit Of Seventy Sex review summaries:
fu_q's
It's a wacky, porny walk back through history as a scraggly, aged narrator (Ebenezer K. Bartholomu) rewrites the early American story to include all manner of sexual encounters involving some of its most beloved figures in "Spirit of Seventy Sex". A very good, 1976 release from VCX and director Godfrey Daniels, this remastered film offers up the likes of George and Martha Washington, Ben Franklin, Paul Revere, John Smith, and so on in a variety of goofy, satire-laced, often intentionally anachronistic romps that ultimately come off as fun, clever, and tongue-in-cheek as they do sexy. If you've seen it before, you know Coed Fever is one of the must own classics. If you haven't and you are a fan of the classics, this is one to pick up now. The movie has been given horrible treatment on the disc by Caballero, as per their norm, but for it's age, it isn't too bad if you can forgive the horrible disc mastering. The disc is hard to find but is well worth seeking out and well worth the purchase price. [read the full review]
