Bolla)...all aiding him in maintaining both his campaign and his false, squeaky clean image. The only person standing in his way? A courageous reporter (Annette Haven) who's both onto his game and looking to show him for who he really is. Such is the case in "Public Affairs", a very good, 1983 release from Caballero and director Henri Pachard.

Along the way, Leslie encounters a cadre of characters and criminals and a bevy of babes who are just aching to get laid by the smooth-talking ladies' man...a fact that he takes full advantage of, of course. How it will all turn out, whether everything's truly as it seems, and whether John can put the whole caper together remain the burning questions of the day. Such is the case in "Dixie Ray: Hollywood Star", a near-perfect, 1983 release from Caballero and director Anthony Spinelli.

Of course, the trip was anything but typical, as it involved all manner of horny high-jinks, two of the participants--including Raffino herself--getting seriously lost, an assortment of awkward moments and interactions, and...finally...a trio of "protestors" intent on taking hostages and raping members of the party. This outlandish, fictitious trip is the primary focus of the film "Summer in Heat", an overall-good, 1979 release from VCX and director Alex DeRenzy.

Review brief: It's a dark and lonely world for a corporate prostitute, Tish Ambrose, who, despite having all of her material needs met and then some, only finds true happiness in the letters of a mentally troubled war buddy, Eric Edwards, of her deceased brother. Indeed, Tish appears to have it all as the longstanding head-lady of R. Bolla's cadre of corporate cuties, who provide sexual services to both the better employees of his firm and corrupt politicians alike, yet her heart yearns to quench its emptiness. It's solely Edwards' writings that can fill this void, so it's with great happiness that she greets him when he finally gets up the courage to surprise her with a visit. Of course, this doesn't sit well with Bolla, her boss, whose strong-arm tactics clash with the pair's feelings for one another violently. How it will all end up--happily or in blood...or both--remains the unanswered question of the day. Such is the case in "Corporate Assets", an exceptional, 1985 release.

Review brief: Judging a porn film by its box cover or its title is rarely a good idea, but we all do it, of course. So...when I saw Michael Cates' "The Modeling Studio" from Collector's Video (1984) as a choice on AdultEmpire.com's Unlimited service, I was initially less than enthused about it. Indeed, its box cover is subpar and unexciting, and its title is as banal as banal can be. That, however, is pretty much where any of the complaints stop. To be sure, this film's cast, which relies heavily upon the erotic talents of a young Ginger Lynn (Oh my!) and the uber-sexual Erica Boyer (RIP)--with assists from the likes of Heather Wayne and Roxanne Rollan along the way--is impeccable, as is its heat...which builds from the beginning and never looks back.
