Review brief: Its not the twinks you will remember sucking in this one. Its the production values that truly suck. Its as though a high school student were given a video cam for Christmas and got all his friends together to make a fuck film. Actually Ive seen better camera work in home movies than here. And thats a real pity because the guys are cute and with first-rate videography and some decent direction and some passion in the sex scenes this could really be something. Did I mention the sex lacked passion? Oh, my, does it ever. A ten-dollar whore at the end of her shift shows more sexual passion than these youngsters. How can such cute young guys be so boring? Because they need a professional behind the scenes, thats how? You can have amateurs behind the scenes and get away with it. Amateurs behind the scenes, not bloody likely. And with amateurs both in front of and behind the camera, failure is assured. The film is introduced by Lance, a young blond with tattoos who looks about as cuddly as a porcupine. The kind whod yawn while being blown. Rough surfer trade.

Initial Reaction: I almost fell asleep. Who Should Watch It : Fans of midgets and Ed Powers style Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants something new Audio /Video Quality: As usual with Ed Powers, the technical aspects leave more than a little to be desired. The audio has a frequent whisper in the background, and if there are any background noises youre going to hear them. Surprisingly, however, the audio is balanced pretty well. The video is pretty close to VHS quality. It has a soft feel and a little pixelation, a fair amount of camera shake, and you frequently get to see Eds helpers and the camera. Surprisingly, the lighting is pretty good. Music: None Disc Complaints / Misleading Advertising: The cover for this DVD is horrible, and almost misleading.

This doesnt give me high expectations here. Initial Reaction: Extreme boredom. Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting to watch somebody new and insomniacs Who Should Avoid It: Anybody whos fast forward button is broken Audio /Video Quality: The audio is fairly clear and well balanced, although there are a few background noises such as the stars being given direction and the cameraman tripping over what sounds like pop cans. The video is about the same quality. It has some grain but is nicely lit. Unfortunately, theres more than a few soft focus problems, a ton of jerky pans and zooms, and some obvious shadows from the cameraman that hold it back. It ends up looking like a beginners attempt at porn.

The audio is normally clear and well balanced, but there are a few areas where the sound gets a little jumbled. The video has a slight bit of grain, but is normally very well lit. Music: Theres a little music, but its kept very quiet in the background. Menus: The menus are extremely basic.

The first scene has a bit of background noise that makes it sounds as if it was done in a subway restroom. The balance is okay, but nothing too great. The video is also okay. There arent many technical problems, but the angles normally leave much to be desired. Music: The music is very nicely balanced with the rest of the audio, and has a slightly techno feel to it. Complaints: Theres no time stamp for the feature, which is extremely annoying. Luckily theres three chapters, which means you can move around the feature a little.

Review brief: Description This is a couples' feature. The plot revolves around a couple getting implanted memories of sexual fantasies. General Impression It's unwatchable. I had serious problems staying awake through two of the scenes. Throughout the movie Petra keeps telling her husband that his fantasies are lame, and he keeps saying that hers are. They are both right. Blaring music with a relentless, driving beat drowns out the scenes. The music makes me think of ketchup, gobbed all over everything in the hopes that you won't notice how badly made it is. Sex In the first scene, Petra mostly does the tango with her dance instructor, to music more suitable to a James Bond movie. There's a brief nice shot of her biting through his trousers, then a blowjob that is so chopped in editing that it could have been 30 seconds of footage total. Throughout this movie, the sex scenes are done the same way - a few seconds or a brief flash of bj, a flash of something else out of sequence, an odd or distorted shot, a brief flash of bj from another angle, camera swirl, fast motion, etc.

Review brief: It was a clever notion to make a gay version of A Streetcar Named Desire. But thats as far as it got here. This is the DVD release of an earlier HIS Video. I dont know why they put it on DVD. Well, actually, I do know. It was to make a buck. Now, as I said a gay version of Streetcar could have been a real hoot. But this one is just Ho-Hum. And the performances, well, to call the acting atrocious, is to compliment it. We begin with Blanche (or rather Blaine) arriving to visit his brother and his lover Stan. Blaine as played by Chris Yeager should more appropriately have been named Bland as this guy has all the verve and personality of a parking meter. This is just one of the many flaws in this misfire, but its an important one. Blanche is fascinating, she is a slut, shes got spunk and nervous energy. Yeagers Blaine is uninteresting, passionless, lazy, indifferent, and the only spunk he has pops out of his dick. Peter Bishop as his brother is perfect casting. (Not for the role but for being Yeagers brother. Yawn.) and Vince Rockland is Stan. Now I was something of a fan of Vince.

Review brief: GAMES MEN PLAY is a 1979 pre-condom flick that has been transferred to DVD. The guys are mostly seventies gay clones with mustaches and beards. It begins with a gang member in a leather jacket picking up a hustler who takes him to a T-room. When they arrive the gang member refuses to pay the hustler and orders him to give him a blowjob. Review brief: There seem to be a whole series of these films being cranked out by Inferno and others which feature young twinks masquerading as cops banging other young twinks who are apparently guilty of something. (Maybe its of appearing in the films.) These films vary in quality, but none are very good. Some, like this one, are pretty bad. We open with a duo we have seen beforea cute young slender brunet and a bleached blond with pierced nipples and a bit of baby fat. The blond is always the cop. He asks to see if there are drugs in the brunets backpack. Instead he finds gay porno films. The cop is on the kid before you can say the word Miranda. They fuck bareback (I believe they are lovers) but the effect of this is lost due to poor camerawork. Choppy editing and a bit of looping further mar the scene. It looks like it might get into something interesting when the young blond lubes the cuties ass and the nightstick, but we cut away before he inserts it and its "déjà vu all over again". Review brief: What do you do with a sampler disc? Well, if youre a reseller, you check out its title listings, each with a brief synopsis, and try to decide which movies are worth adding to your stock. Then perhaps you check your list against the trailers. If youre an ordinary porn consumer, you skip right to the hardcore scenes. Privates DVD Sampler 5 includes a host of titles in various series, 20 trailers, and 3 triple-X scenes (which clock in at about an hours worth of sex). If youre a reseller, your return on investment might be worthwhile; if youre not, youd be better off adding the cost of this disc to your porno slush fund and waiting for something better to come along. Quantitatively an hour of sex on a sampler disc isnt bad. On the other hand, the lack of a Play All option means that you have to keep reaching for the remote, which, depending on how you use your porn, can be inconvenient. The real problem, though, is that the three scenes selected are not among Privates best. Two are fantasy episodes and all are threeways.

Review brief: If youre not careful, the Interviewing Jenna disc will drive you crazy. Its one of those interactive jobs that doesnt even have a Play button. What it has instead is three main sectionsJust Jenna, Interview Jenna, and Jennas Staffand there wouldnt be anything wrong with that except that the menu comes up with the first of these, Just Jenna, selected. Thats a problem because if you choose that route, you wind up circling back on the action a couple of times. I may be old-fashioned, but I think the option of seeing the movie in order ought to come first. Here, that option comes second. (The decision to put Just Jenna first must have been based on the argument that if the sex doesnt begin right away, viewers will tune out. Call me crazy, but it seems to me anyone putting on a movie called Interviewing Jenna isnt going to tune out if it starts with an interview.) Sadly, the menu is the least of this films problems. According to the liner notes on the boxcover, Your first assignment for Peach Magazine takes you into the secret life of superstar Jenna Jameson.

Review brief: I thought the title L.A. DAZE was a pun on Days but after viewing this tiresome tripe, I realized it really was daze and referred to the performers and director. Each scene follows the same pattern: Performer A sucks Performer B and then Performer B fucks Performer A. The fucks are always joined in medias fuck. Review brief: This was a VERY disappointing effort from someone as talented as Joe Phillips. Considering the potential of anime, "The House of Morecock" just falls way short of tolerable. The animation is minimal -- and not the "charming" minimal we've grown to love in anime generally, but a cheap-looking, amateurish minimal that detracts from any merit the artwork might otherwise have. Artistically, the boys are cute but their dicks are ridiculously big. The film has multiple framing stories--an annoying live-action couple who are watching the "Morecock Marathon", and an annoying Feirstein impersonator who sets up the stories. Each of the episodes is mericifully short, but that isn't really a positive merit. Each episode is structurally identical: Our Hero goes somewhere (to Scotland, to Sleep, to Mexico, to whatever) and meets one or more hot guys and they have oral sex and then fuck. Gets a bit monotonous when it's REAL people; when it's ink-on-acetate, it's deadly. I thought that "House of Morecock" would be fun and silly--a porn cartoon was too good to pass up.

Blaine as played by Chris Yeager should more appropriately have been named Bland as this guy has all the verve and personality of a parking meter. This is just one of the many flaws in this misfire, but its an important one. Blanche is fascinating, she is a slut, shes got spunk and nervous energy. Yeagers Blaine is uninteresting, passionless, lazy, indifferent, and the only spunk he has pops out of his dick. Peter Bishop as his brother is perfect casting. (Not for the role but for being Yeagers brother. Yawn.) and Vince Rockland is Stan. Now I was something of a fan of Vince.

Well, if youre a reseller, you check out its title listings, each with a brief synopsis, and try to decide which movies are worth adding to your stock. Then perhaps you check your list against the trailers. If youre an ordinary porn consumer, you skip right to the hardcore scenes. Privates DVD Sampler 5 includes a host of titles in various series, 20 trailers, and 3 triple-X scenes (which clock in at about an hours worth of sex). If youre a reseller, your return on investment might be worthwhile; if youre not, youd be better off adding the cost of this disc to your porno slush fund and waiting for something better to come along. Quantitatively an hour of sex on a sampler disc isnt bad. On the other hand, the lack of a Play All option means that you have to keep reaching for the remote, which, depending on how you use your porn, can be inconvenient. The real problem, though, is that the three scenes selected are not among Privates best. Two are fantasy episodes and all are threeways.

Call me crazy, but it seems to me anyone putting on a movie called Interviewing Jenna isnt going to tune out if it starts with an interview.) Sadly, the menu is the least of this films problems. Review brief: I thought the title L.A. DAZE was a pun on Days but after viewing this tiresome tripe, I realized it really was daze and referred to the performers and director. Each scene follows the same pattern: Performer A sucks Performer B and then Performer B fucks Performer A. The fucks are always joined in medias fuck. (To me, the hottest thing about fucking is seeing the cock go in. Otherwise its just the old in-out, in-out.) SCENE ONE: Steve Page sucks and is fucked by Drew Andrews SCENE TWO: Anthony Torrez sucks and is fucked by Emilio Sands SCENE THREE: Leo Masters sucks and is fucked by Cody Fields SCNE FOUR: Dylan Scott sucks and is fucked by Steve Page (YAWN) Page, Sands, and Masters are usually good, as is Drew Andrews with his big one. Review brief: Dr. G is Axel Braun, director and periodic star of The Squirting Adventures of Dr. G. And what does Dr. G say to the critics who suggest that he isnt making the girls in his films squirt at all, that in fact theyre just peeing? He says, Lend me your girlfriend. Hes kidding, right? What self-respecting guy would even think of turning his girlfriend over to a guy who makes a film as half-assed as this one? What were talking about here is a film with nine sex scenes; that is, one sex scene repeated nine times. The way it works is this. Axel talks briefly to a girl then we cut to him fingering her. She squirts. Then, as Axel explains to one girl, if a guy makes a girl squirt, its customary for her to make a guy squirt, too. So we get the blowjob. Then the cumshot. Then Axel speaks to the next girl, and the whole cycle repeats itself. Over and over, again and againuntil a Gilligans Island rerun starts to look like a better use of our time. Ill tell you: the best thing about this movie is Axel himself, or rather his attitude. Hes a cheerful guy and occasionally amusing.

Review brief: This is a horrendous cheapie at a horribly inflated price. Although the cover calls it Parisian Cycle Slut, the film itself is Parisian Cycle Sluts. This latter is more accurate. Credits roll over footage of a motorcycle race. After which we see a lonely cyclist tooling along a dirt road. He stops to take a leak and overhears noises coming from the bushes. Two guys with pants around their ankles are fucking bareback. The scene is edited haphazardly as sometimes they are sucking and sometimes they are fucking. Tres sloppy, mes amis. Our cyclist watches and jerks off. In a second scene, we discover a curly blond leaning over a motorcycle as a guy clad in a leather jacket rubs his cock on the guys pants. The pants finally come down and the guy goes in. A third guythis one is actually quite attractivewanders out of the woods and presents his wood to the guy being fucked. When the fucker comes he buttons up his trousers and buggers off with nary a thank you.

Review brief: This was a VERY disappointing effort from someone as talented as Joe Phillips. Considering the potential of anime, "The House of Morecock" just falls way short of tolerable. The animation is minimal -- and not the "charming" minimal we've grown to love in anime generally, but a cheap-looking, amateurish minimal that detracts from any merit the artwork might otherwise have. Artistically, the boys are cute but their dicks are ridiculously big. The film has multiple framing stories--an annoying live-action couple who are watching the "Morecock Marathon", and an annoying Feirstein impersonator who sets up the stories. Each of the episodes is mericifully short, but that isn't really a positive merit. Each episode is structurally identical: Our Hero goes somewhere (to Scotland, to Sleep, to Mexico, to whatever) and meets one or more hot guys and they have oral sex and then fuck. Gets a bit monotonous when it's REAL people; when it's ink-on-acetate, it's deadly. I thought that "House of Morecock" would be fun and silly--a porn cartoon was too good to pass up.
