"Resurrection of Eve", the Mitchell Brothers follow up to "Behind the Green Door" is a different kind of adult film on many levels. First of all, the character development and ambition of this project is unprecedented for the genre. Secondly, it is an adult film in which the sex itself is actually shadowed by the storyline. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend the movie for somebody just looking to get a quick fix. The story follows a woman named Eve (played at different points in her life by Nancy Welch, Marilyn Chambers, and Mimi Morgan). She meets a smooth DJ named Frank Paradise (Matthew Arnon) whom she falls in love with and eventually marries. A soft spot for Frank, however, is Eve's friendship with black boxer Johnnie Keyes (playing himself). He gets insanely jealous, despite absolutely nothing going on. This eventually leads to a breakup, which leads to Eve (Mimi Morgan)getting into a disfiguring accident. After the accident, she is Marilyn Chambers. The plot and acting from the scenes included in this compilation makes me wish that the whole Johnny Wadd series would be rescued from the vaults and re-issued on DVD. I imagine that most of these movies simply no longer exist, which is too bad. A couple of years ago, Bob Chinn tried to re-start the Johnny Wadd series with a different actor. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a market for expensive, plot-driven features with high production values. I-Candy's DVD release of Insatiable was really well done, with obvious time and attention spent on it. A DVD well worth buying. Now I personally always prefered Insatiable II, so when I saw that I-Candy had released it on DVD I jumped at the chance to buy it. What a mistake. This DVD is almost the exact opposite of the Insatiable DVD release. The menus were obviously quickly thrown together, with a quality so poor that the DVD creators should be embarassed to have their names associated with it (e.g. menu selections indicated by an ugly big handrawn single color red X next to the item). There are no extras to speak of, there's no time code on the movie, and for some reason the movie plays horizontally squished to 50 of it's proper width (imagine the reverse of letterbox) on my Pioneer DVD player, on which I've played hundreds of DVDs and NEVER before seen this effect. And worst of all, the movie is missing LARGE segments from the original release for no percievable reason. [read the full review]

There are no extras to speak of, there's no time code on the movie, and for some reason the movie plays horizontally squished to 50 of it's proper width (imagine the reverse of letterbox) on my Pioneer DVD player, on which I've played hundreds of DVDs and NEVER before seen this effect. The Top 25 Adult Stars of All Time Directed by Various Running time (approx): 240mins I think there is a very good reason why many hold the classic era of porn (70s, 80s) in such high regard. For me when I first saw films like this, they were normally passed to me on very low quality VHS, sometimes with no sound, or a picture so bad it was almost unwatchable. Porn back then was the holy grail. It was next to impossible to widely obtain (at least here in the UK) and just seeing real sex was amazing. Now it is different. Hardcore for one, is legal in the UK. Porn is now on DVD and the picture quality is never an issue (at least by no means the issue it was) and also, such beautiful women are ready and willing to shed their inhibitions for your viewing enjoyment. It is a different world now, and for me I have come to the realisation that yes, porn in the past was special because it was so forbidden and unobtainable but porn now is in a different league. As much as I love iCandy and Marilyn Chambers, I have to admit that the sex is not the highlight of this DVD. Up n Coming is loaded with plot and (aside from Marilyn's enjoyable songs) bad country music. The movie script, the audio commentary and Marilyn are what make this DVD so great. I may be crazy, but Marilyn's body looks even better in this flick than in Insatiable. When she's rubbing herself in the shower, every muscle in her body flexes. This is really a stunning opener, even though it doesn't lead to anything.Plot The plot centers on the trials and tribulations of up and coming country music singer, Cassie Harland (Marilyn.) Cassie learns that PR equals giving good head and falling legends, Lisa DeLeeuw, don't take their loss of stardom lightly. The acting and character development are excellent.
