Summer In Heat

Reviewed on: 9/3/2017
Studio: VCX
Previews
Starring: Jamie Gillis, Jack Wrangler, John Leslie, Desiree Cousteau, Juliet Anderson, Clair Dia, Jesse Adams, Delania Raffino, Kathy Kaufman, Ron Meyers, Stanley Cohen
Directed by: Christy McCabe
Review brief: A fireside conversation between two lovers, Jamie Gillis and Delania Raffino, and the suggestion of a trip to Lake Shasta prompts the latter of the pair to recount a story from times past, when she last visited the lake with her ex-husband and Senator, Jack Wrangler. Of course, the trip was anything but typical, as it involved all manner of horny high-jinks, two of the participants--including Raffino herself--getting seriously lost, an assortment of awkward moments and interactions, and...finally...a trio of "protestors" intent on taking hostages and raping members of the party. This outlandish, fictitious trip is the primary focus of the film "Summer in Heat", an overall-good, 1979 release from VCX and director Alex DeRenzy.

Corporate Assets (VCX)
Release date: 8/30/2004
Reviewed on: 9/2/2017
Studio: VCX
Previews
Starring: Misty Rain, Shelby Stevens, Alex Sanders, Amber Lynn, Tamara Longley, Paul Thomas, Vince Vouyer, Jamie Gillis, Brittany O'Connell, Nicole Lace, Helen Duval, Nick Random, Eric Edwards, Rachel Ashley, Harry Reems, William Margold, Sheri St. Clair, R. Bolla, Robert Bullock, Francois Papillon, Herschel Savage, Tish Ambrose, Stephanie Bradley
Directed by: Thomas Paine
Review brief: It's a dark and lonely world for a corporate prostitute, Tish Ambrose, who, despite having all of her material needs met and then some, only finds true happiness in the letters of a mentally troubled war buddy, Eric Edwards, of her deceased brother. Indeed, Tish appears to have it all as the longstanding head-lady of R. Bolla's cadre of corporate cuties, who provide sexual services to both the better employees of his firm and corrupt politicians alike, yet her heart yearns to quench its emptiness. It's solely Edwards' writings that can fill this void, so it's with great happiness that she greets him when he finally gets up the courage to surprise her with a visit. Of course, this doesn't sit well with Bolla, her boss, whose strong-arm tactics clash with the pair's feelings for one another violently. How it will all end up--happily or in blood...or both--remains the unanswered question of the day. Such is the case in "Corporate Assets", an exceptional, 1985 release.

Review brief: It's horny hi-jinks on the high seas when two dudes who are more desperate than they are smart, Randy West and Turk Lyon, hatch the brilliant plan of masquerading as women aboard an all-female cruise...just in the slim hopes of getting some action. Of course, just as their luck would have it, most of the women (...at least those whom they aren't molesting against their wills...) are more than happy to come upon some beef in their otherwise fish market of a vacation, and the ploy works. (Besides, it's always helpful to have a couple of brawny transvestites around when a bunch of pirates show up to spoil everyone's good time, right?) Such is the case in "Sexboat", a very good, 1980 release from Svetlana, David I. Frazer, and VCX.

Directed by: Adele Robbins
Review brief: A horny, young, European maid, Connie Peterson, finds herself passed around, used, and abused by just about everyone with whom she comes in contact in America...and she wouldn't have it any other way. Whether her true lust will ultimately lead to true love--or whether she'll remain relegated to the carnal corners of life--remains the yearning question of the day. Such is the case in "Little French Maid", an overall-good, 1981 release from VCX and director Adele Robbins.

Liberation Of Honeydoll Jones, The

Reviewed on: 9/4/2016
Studio: VCX
Previews
Starring: Don Fernando, Blair Harris, Dale Meador, Tracy O'Neil, Victoria Winter, Candida Royalle, Virginia Winter, Dianne Dale
Directed by: Charles De Santos
Review brief: It's all about the redneck rompin' and the backwoods boffin' as two fornicating families of horny hillbillies rekindle an old, chicken-stealing feud when the son-in-law of one clan is caught rolling in the hay with the hot-pants daughter of the other. Making matters worse is the impact that it all has upon the budding romance of the film's star-crossed lovers, "Bobby" (from one family) and the lovely Virginia Winters (from the other). Of course, plenty of sexual high-jinks ensue as the fiasco unfolds, with--in true country kinkin' style--everyone ending up throwing the ho down with everyone else. Such is the case in "The Liberation of Honeydoll Jones", a surprisingly good, 1977 release from director Carlos DeSantos and VCX.

Starring: John Holmes, Annette Haven, Jon Martin, John Seeman, Abigail Clayton, Desiree West, Ray Wells, Tyler Reynolds, Kent Hall, Kristine Heller, Angela Haze, Sandy Pinney, Jeff Lyle, Ebenezer K. Bartholomu
Directed by: Godfrey Daniels
Review brief: It's a wacky, porny walk back through history as a scraggly, aged narrator (Ebenezer K. Bartholomu) rewrites the early American story to include all manner of sexual encounters involving some of its most beloved figures in "Spirit of Seventy Sex". A very good, 1976 release from VCX and director Godfrey Daniels, this remastered film offers up the likes of George and Martha Washington, Ben Franklin, Paul Revere, John Smith, and so on in a variety of goofy, satire-laced, often intentionally anachronistic romps that ultimately come off as fun, clever, and tongue-in-cheek as they do sexy.

Starring: Paul Thomas, Desiree Cousteau, Blair Harris, John Seeman, Dorothy LeMay, Norma Jean, Nancy Hoffman, Ken Scudder, Lisa Sue Corey, China Leigh, Rocky Rhodes, Laurie Blue, Tina Austin
Directed by: Fred J. Lincoln
Review brief: When a young woman, played by Dorothy LeMay, catches her boyfriend red-handed (...and red-dicked...) cheating upon her on their anniversary, she decides that she's had enough and that she's going to hitchhike her way to San Francisco to become a star. Of course, it's just her "luck" that she finds herself in the hands of a talent agent with a pervy formula for success along the way. What ensues is a tawdry tale of tail, as Dorothy puts out for--and is pimped out to--client upon big-shot client. Whether sucking cock will ultimately lead her to the top...or, instead, to utter despair...remains to be seen. Such is the case in "Formal Faucett", an overall-good, 1978 release from VCX and director F.J. Lincoln.

Review brief: "The Best of VCX Classics 2 (Trailers)" is, as its name would imply, a compilation of vintage adult previews and teasers from the company's Golden Age. Having been one of the larger companies of the era, VCX certainly has some of the cream of the crop (crotch?), as well as a significant breadth of lesser-known titles, in its historical library, and what's presented here nicely demonstrates this fact.

Review brief: Everyone's getting balled and having a ball when a fortune teller, Ms. Sandy Hill, gazes into her... well... crystal ball, of course. Such is the case in "Gypsy Ball", a decent, 1980 release from VCX that uses the sultry soothsayer and her visions as a means of connecting a variety of otherwise-disconnected (...and ridiculously overdubbed...) scenes.
