General Impression This has a very promising plot idea, not fully realized. The first scene is very well-filmed, with decent special effects. The edgy, ominous music fit the slightly apprehensive mood of the scene and I enjoyed the lively sex. But as the same type of music is used loudly in scene after scene, it becomes repetitious and mechanical. As part of the plot, the people are mesmerized into having sex. The idea of slightly glazed-over or zombie-like people fucking, along with the loud techno music, causes a loss of some of the heat. This was a feature movie, but because of the way the movie was set up, no character development was done. I would have liked to have seen the characters of the people a bit - maybe joking around, maybe arguing, maybe being buffoons, whatever -- at least for a minute or two, before being controlled by the alien. I'm happy to say that one of their newest films, Duchess, is not plagued with this problem. In fact, except for a very weak plot and occaionally poor camera angles, Duchess is an exceptional adult feature film. The plot, however, is terrible. Duchess, a wealthy young woman played by Holly Hollywood, is lonely with her husband, Steve Holmes, away on business. Her friends, the lovely Laurie Wallace and Cameron, try to convince her that sex is fun, and while Duchess does have an affair with the lawn boy, legendary Steven St. Croix, she rushes into the arms of her husband, and then the film ends. There is no movement, no drama, nothing that makes the plot at all interesting.
