5 Films 5 Years 1 (Blu-ray) review summaries:
Flash's
5 Films 5 Years Volume 1: Golden Age Erotica is an excellent limited edition Blu-ray collection of five classic adult films. The set contains Too Naughty to Say No, Hot and Saucy Pizza Girls, The Ribald Tales of Canterbury, Prisoner of Paradise, and Dixie Ray Hollywood Star. The films on the release span from 1978 to 1985 and, honestly, fans of golden age adult films should find several to their liking, even if not all of the films included are favorites. None of the films on this release have ever looked better on home video and 5 Films 5 Years Volume 1: Golden Age Erotica is definitely worth picking up before it is sold out. [read the full review]

Matinee Idol (Vinegar Syndrome) review summaries:
Rick L. Blalock's
In this 1983 romantic comedy porno film. Adult film stars Linda Hand(Jesie St. James), and Lance Hardy(John Leslie), are two of the most well-known stars in the adult film business, as they have appeared together in many pictures, for Sensational International Pictures, which is owned and operated by Bernard Kuntz(David F. Friedman) and Harvey Cox(Elmo Lavino). All is well for everyone, until there is friction between the two stars on the set of their latest movie entitled Matinee Idol. It is turmoil, which sends both Kuntz and Cox into a frenzy, as they look to finish the picture, as their investors put the pressure on them. [read the full review]

Taboo 2 / Taboo 3 (Vinegar Syndrome Blu-Ray) review summaries:
Flash's
Taboo 2, while not as good as Kirdy Stevens' original Taboo, is an enjoyable feature adult film. The cast does an amazing job with their sex scenes and do a great job with the non-sexual scenes. Taboo 3, on the other hand, is a massive let down with a poor story that does little to connect with the first two films and seems like just an attempt to cash in on the Taboo name. Most viewers likely won't have any interest seeing the film more than once. Taboo 2 makes this release worth picking up. Vinegar Syndrome has done a great job with this release. Taboo 2 has some issues with the video and audio but is still the best release of Taboo 2 on the market and Taboo 3 looks absolutely stunning. [read the full review]

Star Angel review summaries:
fu_q's
Jerry Butler seems to have it made: an uber-successful career in the rock n' roll industry, a ton of money and the mansion to go along with it, and a hot, fire-crotched girlfriend who loves him and who caters to his every need. Of course, as with everything, there's always a catch and a price to pay. You see, Jerry murdered his ex-girlfriend, Tigr, a substance abusing rocker chick who got him his start in the biz, and made it look like an unintentional O.D. ... and now he sees her and her face everywhere he goes and in everything that he does. Indeed, his psychosis has him in a severe, downward spiral that even his girlfriend, Colleen Brennan, seems unable to stop. Compounding all of this is the presence of Angel, a young, gold-digging hottie whom the pair has brought home...and whom Butler has difficulty discerning from the phantasm that is his deceased ex. Such is the case in "Star Angel", an exceptional, 1986 release from Command Video and director Cecil Howard. [read the full review]

Rick L. Blalock's
At the beginning of the 1986 dramatic porno feature, STAR ANGEL, Luke Frame(Jerry Butler) is a former office boy, who has found success in managing the career of his wife, singer, Lola Rain(Tigr). However, Lola's career has come crashing down, as a result of her drug and alcohol addiction. She just can't keep it together, as demonstrated by her latest concert, which ended in utter disaster. The bad show causes outrage between fans and promoters alike. It has also put the couple at odds. as Lola and Luke argue about the former's now failing career. The two of them make up, and subsequently make time for a quickie however, this is after Luke gives his wife some pills, which later ease her into sleep. Unfortunately, it's a slumber that she does not wake from, as the star dies from an apparent overdose. Was it just merely an accident on Luke's behalf? Or, is it something that he had done purposely? Animal In Me, The (Standard Digital) review summaries:
fu_q's
When a hot-to-trot, divorced romance writer (Colleen Brennan) goes on a sexual tear sating one carnal desire after another, she ends up bedding not only her rough-around-the-edges boyfriend (constantly) but also both her secretary (Heather Wayne) and, ultimately, her daughter's (Karen Summer's) long-sought love interest. Of course, this all doesn't play well for her daughter, and just how things will work out for the lot of them remains the burning question of the day. Such is the case in "The Animal in Me", a very good, 1985 release from Standard Digital and director Kirdy Stevens. [read the full review]

A collection of lesbian scenes from 1980s-era porn. The sex is standard, stylized, fakey FF stuff. Ribald Tales Of Canterbury, The (Caballero) review summaries:
Mister_Joshua's
Synopsis Being a history buff and a porn fiend can be tough sometimes, but The Ribald Tales of Canterbury made it a little fun. I've recently spent some time re-exploring my mis-spent youth, and this is my first review. The Tales is essentially the stories a bunch of travelers tell each other on their way to Canterbury. See Geoffrey Chaucer for more details. There is a bunch of horse riding with recounts (and sex scenes) sprinkled throughout. The Cast There are some ugly motherfuckers up in here, but I feel the women more than make up for it. The Lord of Bath (Bud Lee) is homely, but the Queen (Josephine Carrington) is very fine. Hyapatia is the lead for this flick, and she has 3 really nice scenes, but she wasn't the stand out for my stand out. One thing that I found interesting was the averageness of the women, and I don't mean that in a bad way. For instance Cheri Janvier is an attractive woman, but her proportions are all wrong for porn. Big thighs and butt, with small titties. [read the full review]

Diville's
Starring: Amber Lynn, Colleen Brennan, Porsche Lynn, Karen Summer, Lorrie Lovett, Shone Taylor, Jamie Gillis, Joey Silvera, Kevin James Johnathan Younger, Billy Dee. Directed By: Kirdy Stevens There are only a handful of adult films which can easily be called classics. Among them is Kirdy Stevens' Taboo. Despite the modern day Max Hardcores, Rob Blacks, and the other multitudes of directors who dispatch "extreme hardcore" to your local smut shop, Stevens' tales of consentual incest are as controversial now as the day he shot them. In fact, the Taboo series continues on, though it has left its incestuous subject matter far behind. Once though, incest porn was a strange little niche market and it wasn't uncommon to find stories of fathers getting it on with their teenage daughters, teenage sons seducing their mothers, or siblings exploring sexuality together. Does this make you uneasy? Queasy even? Well, I think it's supposed to...a little. Sometime after Taboo 5 this series eliminated the incest angle. [read the full review]

This 1984 release from Cal Vista is a couple of years too recent to be considered "Golden Age," but is definitely a classic. Produced by Sam Norvell and directed by Robert McCallum, it features 70s porn superstar Annette Haven, along with John Leslie, Harry Reems, R. Bolla, and Hershel Savage. It also features "Angel" who was breifly the rage during the mid-1980s. She does a scene with Leslie and another with R. Bolla. My favorite performer is the under-celebrated Janey Robbins. She had a great body and was a very enthusiastic sex performer. Robbins also has a cute Minnesota accent (like the female sheriff in "Fargo"). Here, she does two scenes, one with R. Bolla and one with Hershel Savage (a purported incest scene). Strangely, it appears that this movie was intended to have a sequel, but I've never seen it, and I don't think it was ever made. Nu-tech has done an acceptable job on the DVD transfer; it looks much better than the tape I had. Nu-tech also features Dolby surround sound, but I couldn't detect any improvement in the sound. Taboo 3 marks a sharp and massive decline in Kirdy Stevens' Taboo series. Unlike its predecessors, Taboo 3 doesn't have great character development but does sport a clichéd story, and no continuity with the previous entries. Fans of the Taboo series will likely be very disappointed with Taboo 3, even if fans of the cast. Standard Digital has done a decent job with the video and audio for their Special Collector's Edition release of Taboo 3, but heavily skimped on the extras. [read the full review]

It's not Taboo, but what is? Still it has Kay Parker looking pretty hot, some steamy sex, and absolutely gorgeous cinematography. The plot is lame, but the rest of the movie looks like it was made by people who cared. [read the full review]
