Review:
Jerry Butler seems to have it made: an uber-successful career in the rock n' roll industry, a ton of money and the mansion to go along with it, and a hot, fire-crotched girlfriend who loves him and who caters to his every need. Of course, as with everything, there's always a catch and a price to pay. You see, Jerry murdered his ex-girlfriend, Tigr, a substance abusing rocker chick who got him his start in the biz, and made it look like an unintentional O.D. ... and now he sees her and her face everywhere he goes and in everything that he does. Indeed, his psychosis has him in a severe, downward spiral that even his girlfriend, Colleen Brennan, seems unable to stop. Compounding all of this is the presence of Angel, a young, gold-digging hottie whom the pair has brought home...and whom Butler has difficulty discerning from the phantasm that is his deceased ex. Such is the case in "Star Angel", an exceptional, 1986 release from Command Video and director Cecil Howard. Featuring a dark theme pulled together perfectly by an intricate and well-enacted storyline, this feature presentation is most certainly one of the better ones of both its era and in the history of adult. Going into this, the viewer shouldn't necessarily expect any happy endings and should also be aware that the sex--which is still smokin' hot--is there more to serve the plot than, as is more generally true of adult films, the other way around. Acting-wise, Jerry Butler is superb, as are Colleen Brennan and Tigr. Angel, Ron Jeremy, and Taija Rae, while playing less demanding parts, nevertheless turn out solid performances, as well. For fans of Cecil Howard, features, the Golden Age, any of the ladies, and/or Jerry Butler, this film is no doubt a must see. It is at the top of the food chain, and it is worthy. Hands down and dicks up, it's a winner!
In terms of the sex, Scene One brings together a frustrated Jerry Butler and his junkie singer of a girl, the blonde Tigr, backstage in a frenetic, booze- and drug-fueled fuck (vaginal ; pop on her bush). Scene Two is a hypothetical fantasy sequence arising from an argument and involving a neon-lit, hot-tub romp between a bimbo named Tammy and Ron Jeremy, an aspiring musician and Butler's chauffer (oral, vaginal). In Scene Three, Ron Jeremy's love interest, Taija Rae, takes care of herself because he didn't (masturbation), while Scene Four pairs up Jerry Butler's current girlfriend, Colleen Brennan, and the scorching-hot Angel, whom they picked up out on the side of the road. Angel seduces Colleen in no time, after the latter's had a fight with Butler (fingers and tongues). In Scene Five, Taija Rae and Ron Jeremy go at it on the bed at their apartment (oral, vaginal ; titty-fuck to a gooey facial). Scene Six finds Colleen trying desperately to suck and fuck the demons out of Jerry's head, as he continues down the path to mental ruin. Though hesitant and troubled at first, he eventually lets loose...though still with a crazed look in his eyes (oral, vaginal). In Scene Seven, Tigr gets it on with Frank Serrone, Maritka Ekberg, and Jose Duval in a hazy group romp upon a furry bed in a neon-lit room. This sequence is one of Butler's hallucinations and involves oral and vaginal action by the ladies. Scene Eight finally couples up Jerry and the uber-sexy Angel in the back bedroom at one of his wild parties. Intercut with this sequence is mirrored action with Tigr, in which he hallucinates back and forth between reality and delusion (oral--both, vaginal--Angel ; ejaculation on Angel's bush, pelvis, and inner thigh). So hot... so crazy... so twisted and dark!
