Cox The Short Story Initial Expectations: The little I've seen from Big Top hasn't been too impressive. I'm not sure why I was drawn to this one, but I just had to give it a chance. Initial Reaction: There's a bit of potential here, but it rarely gets used. Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting realistic looking women having sex with chemistry Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting really fat chicks The Technical Stuff Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects don't even come close to an average level. The audio has frequent background noises, balance problems, and a some hollow spots. The video is presented in the full frame format and looks about like a second or third generation VHS copy. The lighting is inconsistent from scene to scene and there's some slow motion effects that interfere with the action. This is a poor looking and sounding movie.

Review brief: NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies dont have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. Im rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also arent normally the glamour stars one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as its often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesnt have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what theyre doing to have fun and because they enjoy it.

I can't help but have extremely high expectations. Initial Reaction: It's another truly beautiful movie that is a almost impossible not to like. Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting real emotions Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting down and dirty stroke material The Technical Stuff Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very well done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I don't think I noticed a single background noise. The video is very well presented in anamorphic widescreen. It's all very well lit with a varying amount of grain. The entire movie is shot on film, with the sex portion having a grainier guerrilla feel to it with a touch of motion while the interview is more polished and smooth.

The audio is pretty well balanced between the performers and there's very few background noises. At the same time, it's very hard to hear the performers many times because the annoying music is way too loud. The video is presented in the full screen format. It's nicely lit but has a touch of grain.
