NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects aren't too bad for an amateur release. The audio is pretty clear and well balanced, with even Terry coming across clearly behind the camera. There are a few background noises, but nothing out of the ordinary for an amateur release. The video is presented in the full frame format. There's a few lighting problems, and they really crop up in the first scene where it's shot outdoor with plenty of shadows. There's also a bit of pixelation and camera movement, but the movement isn't anything unusual for an amateur release.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner for the first scene and the upper right corner for the second scene. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six stills.

The Feature

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of Shot at Home's DVDs can be found on their website for around $20. I'd go for Shot at Home's VOD for this one. It's not a bad release, but I've seen better from them. The sex is pretty good, but drawn out with the movie being a touch shorter than usual. The technical aspects are a little below average even for an amateur release, but there's a little effort put into the extras. This is an okay amateur release.

Note to Shot at Home: It's nice to see you always putting such nice effort into the overall DVD.
