"The Lifestyle" is a clever and fun look by its director, Stormy Daniels, into how one fictitious couple overcame a serious state of sexual boredom. The plot is advanced through an interesting, retrospective mechanism that is coupled with direct narration by the lead (Stormy Daniels), non-sex cut-scenes that are often comical, and five full sex scenes that cover a wide range of sexual possibilities. In terms of the sex, the third scene--which involves a three-way between Roxy DeVille, Carolyn Reese, and Evan Stone, and the last scene--which involves an orgy featuring all sorts of activities, are definitely the best. Still, none of the other three scenes are bad, ranging from good to quite good, and involve more typical boy-girl and girl-girl pairings. You get solid scenes from Anthony Rosano being blown by Regan Reese who later does a good one with Jack Lawrence aka the Professor. The technical aspects show a lot of care and Wicked has packed so many extras into this release that you need three DVDs to contain everything here. Well fan this movie is pretty funny from start to finish as Steven St. Croix and Stormy Daniels save the world from the Evil Hussein played by Ron Jermey-- but he's more of a sideshow really, the real action here goes on between Stormy and Steven as they iron out the problems in their marriage and there's nothing like saving the world to solve your problems. Lots and lots and lots of extras here folks-- I think Stormy learned from Peter Jackson doing the LOTR flicks as this opus is packed full of goodies from interviews to several galleries and to top it off several extra scenes so if you are at all a Stormy Daniels fan this is the release you will want to have in your collection for some time to come, lots of laughter along with some pretty good sex too. I loved it, and thought that it proved that great feature films could still be made in porn. At the same time, I think it disproved it. Bordering on 4 1/2 hours long with a plot that didn't rival War and Peace in epic stature, it didn't allow for screening in one session unless you were obsessed. That's the price paid for fully realized sex scenes to go along with a coherent narrative. Of course, being that Rocco is the main protagonist, the scenes tend to get extra long.
