The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Michael Raven and Stormy Daniels alone are normally enough reason to check out a movie, so putting them together makes this a must-see movie for me. Add in that the cover reminds me of how great Stormy's Predator was and I'm afraid that I might have expectations too high for this movie to meet.

Initial Reaction: It's damn good and makes me feel like an idiot for not watching more of Michael Raven and Stormy Daniels' recent work.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of adult movies

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting the same old movie or more sex than story

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very well done. The audio is top notch, with a great balance and a very clear presentation. The video is very nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen, and looks great with just a touch of grain that seems to fit the movie. There's some amazing care put into the lighting, and it really plays into the movie and strengthens it.

Music: The music shows tremendous care and is nothing short of fantastic. It's very well balanced with the rest of the audio and far from your typical porno music. It varies very well throughout the movie and even has a great classical upgrade that will probably be familiar to many. In fact, it's good enough that while putting a few final touches on this review I couldn't help but play some of the scenes in the background just to hear the music again.

Menus: The main menu nicely blends the boxcover with a little animation for a good first impression. The chapter menu is the standard fairly generic Wicked menu that lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number rather than giving the viewer something they might want to know, such as the cast in each scene.

The Feature

Stormy never wanted a white picket fence, doting husband, and a few kids running around. After seeing her parent's unhappy marriage she decided early on to be a black widow instead. She's spent years developing her plan and finding the right mark with Randy Spears. The one thing never planned for was what might happen if her mark finds out...

Scene 1 – Stormy Daniels and Randy Spears

Smoking hot super busty blonde gives hubby Randy a little something when he finds her getting ready to go out with the girls. This is a superb scene. It has a great balance of camera angles to mix things up and let you see it and fantastic use of mood lighting that's dark enough to make things sexy and erotic without compromising any of the visuals. More importantly, there's also great chemistry between them with the scene moving at a great pace. This is an extremely sexy scene that starts the movie off great.

Scene 2 – Carmel Moore and Randy Spears

Stormy sets Randy up with hot bottle blonde Carmel as she watches them get it on. Carmel sucks Randy's cock wearing a little pink outfit and even lets him push down on her head before laying back for Randy to eat her out as she talks dirty to him. She gets up for Randy to fuck her doggie style before letting him fuck her face again. Carmel hops up to bounce on Randy energetically with Randy spanking her ass before laying back for him to fuck her missionary style. This is another great scene. Where Randy's scene with Stormy was soft and sensual, this one's a bit rough and energetic. Carmel puts out some great vocals as well as great energy, and Randy matches it extremely well. The facial also works very well with Carmel looking like she might even swallow down some of the cum. The camera work is also very well done once again and has a great mix of angles. This is another very hot scene.

Scene 3 – Stormy Daniels and Barrett Blade

Next up, Stormy gets it on with Barrett for some hot monkey love while Randy's gone during a thunderstorm. She lets Barrett suck her tits before moving down to wrap them and her mouth around his cock. Stormy gets up to ride Barrett reverse cowgirl style before sucking him a bit more, and then gets right back up for more reverse cowgirl. Stormy also lets Barrett take her from behind before getting down for him to pop on her face. She looks like she might swallow a bit down and even sucks out the last little bit as Randy arrives home.

This is another great scene. The lighting is on the dark side, but once again it works extremely well and gives the scene an extra artistic boost. It gives the scene an extra touch of sensuality amongst the raw passion that's going between Stormy and Barrett, and that really worked well for me. Stormy and Barrett keep the sexual momentum going very well through their scene that's been rolling so well through the movie.

Scene 4 – Kayla Carrera and Marco Banderas

Brunette Kayla gets it on with Marco on a bed next. They kiss before he slides her panties off and works her over orally. Kayla kisses Marco a bit before sucking his cock and then gets up to ride him reverse cowgirl style. She also lets Marco take her doggie style before finishing things up with a nice facial.

This is another good scene, but it has trouble keeping up with the other scenes. There's good chemistry between Kayla and Marco, and they keep things moving pretty well. More than anything I think my problem here was that the scene felt a little crammed into the movie, and just seemed to split apart a pair of Randy plot sequences. This is by no means a bad scene, but it has trouble keeping up with the rest of the movie.

Scene 5 – Stormy Daniels and Cheyne Collins

Stormy flashes back to an earlier time when she was hooking to finish the sex up. She goes right to work sucking his cock and teasing it a little with her big fat titties before laying back on the bed for him to fuck her wearing only a pair of sexy high heeled dress boots and a black bra. Stormy bends over the bed for him to take her from behind before finally popping on her ass.

This is another good scene. The chemistry isn't there as much as in the other scenes, but with the scene being about Stormy flashing back to time as a prostitute the lack of chemistry fits the scene well. I like the little changes in Stormy's style, and the scene moves along at a good pace. This scene lacks a little compared to the others, but at the same time it fits very well.

Black Widow is a great adult movie, with equal emphasis on both “adult” and 'movie”. Yes, this is a porno with well done sex, but the plot and acting are every bit as strong as the sex. Both Stormy and Randy Spears do a fantastic job that's completely worthy of at least a couple of award nominations through the story, and there's a couple nice supporting players as well. The movie moves along at a good pace with Stormy's voiceovers guiding it very well, and there's some very nice twists in the story that kept me there to see what happened to the characters in the movie rather than just to see who was going to bump uglies next. In fact, Black Widow so driven by Stormy and Randy's characters, that it slows down a little when they're not there. Kayla's scene with Marco isn't bad, but it just can't keep up with Stormy and Randy's scenes before it, and although Stormy does a good job with Cheyne, the average chemistry there just doesn't seem to cut it. There's plenty of credit that needs to go Michael Raven's way as well, as the visuals and style of the movie go together perfectly and play into the tension of the movie wonderfully. There were a few times when I was literally on the edge of my seat looking forward to what was going to happen next. Every so often people ask me how I can review the number of movies I do, and I'll admit that at times it isn't easy. Then a movie like Black Widow comes along that shows the potential that adult films can have when you have people who really care about what they're doing rather than just seeing how quickly they can slap something together. Yes, Black Widow does have a couple slow spots, but the rest of the movie is so well done that even when it slows down for a couple moments I couldn't look away and had just as much anticipation for what was yet to come. Black Widow blew me away and shows why Wicked is considered by many to be the king of adult features.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Black Widow, Delilah, Coming Home, Porn Valley, Perfect Match, Supernatural, Zen, The Visitors, Becoming Carmen Hart, Made in the USA, and Honky Tonk Girl. The photo gallery lasts about four and a half minutes with about seven seconds per good looking snapshot. Stormy Daniels, Carmel Moore, Kayden Faye, and Kayla Carrera each get a star gallery lasting gets a star gallery lasting between about two and two and a half minutes with about seven seconds per good looking snapshot as well as star stats that give you a link to the star's scene, a photo, a little personal information, and a Wicked filmography. There's also a bonus scene, a behind the scenes featurette, extended scenes, a commentary, other featurettes, and weblinks.

Randy Spears joins Stormy Daniels and Michael Raven for an audio commentary. Of course they talk a bit about the making of the movie and the sex, but with this group there's also plenty of fun sidetrips. You get to hear a little about some of Randy and Stormy's upcoming movies as well as Randy and Michael talking about the beauty of women's feet. The sense of support among the three of them is really great, and that support helps the movie through the few dead spots as they enjoy the movie (with Randy seeing it for his first time). This is a nice commentary track.

The Search for the Black Widow featurette lasts just over a minute. Michael Raven narrates this short featurette that gives a little history on the first black widow back in the early twenties century. Although short, this featurette is also extremely interesting and very well worth checking out.

The blooper reel lasts nearly six minutes. Amazingly it starts out with a few crack-ups with Stormy fucking rather than going just to flubbed lines. It moves through a few flubbed lines before working back through a couple sexual bloopers with Kayla as well as with Kayden. There's a little other fun with the sex scenes and flubbed lines to make this a nicely done blooper reel.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts twenty one minutes and is presented in the full frame format. Michael Raven introduces the movie and the five day shoot before it moves into shooting Stormy's scene with Cheyne before moving into the scenes with Kayla. Next up is the trailer park sequences with a little humor and plenty of eye candy with Stormy in her bikini as well as Kayden taking on Dick. Carmel has a few words with the camera next, both before and after her scene. Stormy returns, first for her scene with Barrett and then for her scene with Randy with a few words in between. There's also a little bit of Michael Raven working with Stormy. This is a pretty good behind the scenes featurette. It's a little shy on the fun chats that used to make Wicked's behind the scenes featurettes kick so much butt in the past, but there's still a few fun moments.

Extended Scene 1 – Kayden Faye and Dick Nasty

Dick and Kayden's scene is presented in non-anamorphic widescreen. Tattooed brunette Kayden helps Dick out of his pants so she can suck his cock while giving him some nice eyes. They move on to fuck doggie style on the couch before Kayden rides Dick reverse cowgirl style. Finally she gives him a little oral attention and lets him pop on her face.

This is a pretty good scene, and a very nice inclusion in the extras. Kayden's look doesn't work the best for me as I'm not a big fan of tattoos, but she and Dick get at it pretty good. It moves along at a nice pace and has a nice mix of camera angles. It's a lot weaker than the rest of the scenes in the movie, so having just a clip of it in the movie with this version in the extras works very well.

Extended Scene 2 – Stormy Daniels

Surprisingly, Stormy's shower sequence looks like it was brought from the anamorphic presentation and shrunk to fit the full screen ratio. Stormy runs her hands around herself while showering up with a bit of lathering worked in as well. This scene isn't overly special, but with eye candy like Stormy I can't get down on it too much.

Bonus Scene – Stormy Daniels and Voodoo

The bonus scene comes from The Muse. Stormy starts out in a metallic wig, black dress boots, and a sexy black lingerie showing off for the camera before riding the tongue of Voodoo, who's sporting a red mohawk-like stripe among his otherwise light brunette hair. He can't help but let his hands wander around her body a bit. Stormy sucks and strokes his cock in return while giving the camera plenty of eyes before riding him reverse cowgirl style. She lays back for him to fuck her missionary style before getting on all fours for some doggie action. Finally Stormy takes a good pop over her tongue and on her face with open eyes and a smile.

This scene didn't do much for me. Stormy gets into it well and puts out some great looks and some good energy. My problem was the style, which was a music video style that I can honestly say is very hit or miss with me and might have worked extremely well for me if I watched it on a different day. The style is very artistic with choppy editing, and here it just didn't work for me.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Wicked's DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $25 with a few stores offering them at the low end. At the low end this one's a steal. The movie is fantastic, with the story being every bit as good as the sex. The technical aspects show some very nice care, and the extras show plenty of effort as well. This is a great DVD that's well worth checking out.

Note to Wicked Pictures: You did a great job here, but in the future please keep the anamorphic presentation for the extended scenes.
