Darkko’s Alphabet Gets An Important Addition |

  2008 Evil Angel Directed by Jonni Darkko Starring Eva Angelina, Audrey Bitoni, Nadia Styles & Sammie Rhodes  For all his myriad contributions to the modern day porno landscape, I somehow doubt that Jonni Darkko knew what he was starting when he first began production of the eponymous Tiffany & Cumpany back in 2005. Because while he may not have originated the idea of shooting a wall-to-wall sex feature centered around a single star, he certainly re-popularized it. In Mynx’s wake followed the likes of Naomi and Brianna Love most notably, while Jonni’s very own G For Gianna took home Best All-Sex Release honors at the 2008 AVN Awards ceremony. 2008 brings us a somewhat less-curvy l'étoile du film and muse for Darkko’s camera but for whatever Eva Angelina may lack physically (and that’s honestly not much) she more than makes up for with pure sexual energy and her trademark multi-colored frames. Eva’s charmed four-year rise from precocious starlet to bonafide superstar is marked by stories of her drive, determination and sacrifice. Beginning as a skinny and bespectacled, pigtailed teen from the sun-soaked streets of the O.C. in ‘03, Angelina endured both personal tragedy and professional adversity while continuing to win herself more and more fans with each successive onscreen effort.  Newly augmented breasts brought even more popularity and supreme self-confidence for Eva, whose emergence as the premier gonzo performer of her class was nearly complete, as was her resilient quest for adult greatness. No longer new but still sensational, hungry and focused, the underappreciated Eva sought to reaffirm her dominance. Enter Jonni Darkko. Gonzo’s current reigning king on the strength his significantly superior technical skills, which are constantly and consistently improving, Darkko became Eva’s Svengali and the man who would provide her shot at immediate redemption. A sneak peek at Jonni’s latest “alphabet” film hit the ‘net on November 29, 2007 with the full trailer following shortly thereafter on December 12th. Indubitably stamped with the poise, precision and patience we’ve come to expect from Darkko behind the camera, Angelina, alternately portraying both predator and prey, tore through each part of the preview, seemingly in seek-and-destroy mode throughout, going for the kill in every scene. Once the Eva-lution contingent caught wind of this, anticipation grew out of control. But along with great buzz comes tremendous pressure to produce. Rest assured, E FOR EVA delivers.  As Jonni has made customary in his single star epics, Eva Angelina begins with a solo masturbation scene. But more than it preps Eva for her upcoming labors, more accurately; I think it gives the home viewer a chance to properly settle in…a sure-fire masturbatory endurance trial lies ahead. The fantasy begins in earnest when a horny Eva (sans glasses) dials up Mark Ashley, who is already perusing stills of her in action, to scratch the itch in her ditch. Mark does a bit more than scratch it – he digs a grave, fills it up with hard veiny cock, buries himself Deep Inside Eva (were this the early ‘90s, that might’ve very well been the title of this movie) and then empties his pole onto her sparkling white teeth. But alas, it was only a dream and Angelina awakens on her sofa, still all alone.  Eva isn’t the only dark-haired diva you’ll find here: Nadia Styles and Audrey Bitoni are both onhand in an all-girl scene that easily gives any of JM Productions’ ”Violation” movies a definite run for their money. The lone blonde, Sammie Rhodes (who has made an annoying habit of turning in top notch girl/girl scenes since she decided to stop working with boys. The other girls almost unanimously and instantly conclude that Sammie is the most dominant amongst them) arrives, dragging Eva aka “The Meat” behind her in a big black laundry bag by a drawstring. This scene is rife with rough play, toys (a hand wand and I’m beyond surprised to see some of the women here working with a strap-on with its flesh colored to make it appear black) and fantastic tits but Sammie’s are the only pair present that won’t rupture or ever need to be replaced. The ladies proceed to work Eva over in a manner that makes Susan George’s “rape” in STRAW DOGS look like a pleasant dream sequence by comparison. In the BTS you hear Jonni give the girls their motivation: ”We wanna make her cum, number one and then at the end, we wanna wonder if she’s dead.”  Only after a POV blowjob (with Winston Burbank) does E FOR EVA finally kick into high gear and refuse to slow down, let up or look back. For anyone that doesn’t have a membership to Eva’s website or seen either UPLOAD and BIG WET ASSES 12 yet, these just might be the very moments you’ve been anxiously anticipating and the reason you either rented or if you were smart, bought this DVD. There’s a short tease and a scene capped with the all-too-rare instance of the woman sucking/jerking her partner to completion instead of him taking things in his own hands, when Eva is paired with John Strong in a strictly all-anal affair. It’s a literal basketball team versus our proletarian protagonist next as Voodoo, Chris Charming, Jack Venice, Zane (I flatly refuse to call another man “Phat”) and John Espizido all show up for Eva’s filth-filled Gangbang, where every orifice is available and open for business. Eva stalks around seductively and works the room like a sex-deprived politician, actively campaigning, giving head like handshakes and ending up double-penetrated and more airtight than a Ziploc baggy in several positions, cocks flying in and out of every orifice, making this pile of intertwining bodies more closely resemble hentai than live-action. Amazingly, Eva doesn’t so much as smudge her eyeliner during this fuck-fracas but does, however, get a thick protein foundation applied at the scene’s end in the form of five frothy loads on her faccia.  Angelina is no stranger to interracial scenes but being represented by Derek Hay at LA Direct Models comes with its own set of unspoken (and sometimes spoken) expectations for their talent roster so IR work has been rare, to say the least and sporadic at best for Eva since signing with them. Thus seeing her taking on long-dicked veteran and go-to IR master Sean Michaels (not to be confused with the ladder-climbin’, heart-breakin’ yet supposedly religious WWE wrestler of the same name) serves as something of a special treat nowadays and a pre-requisite for inclusion since Tiffany tackled Mandingo to set the standard in her work with Darkko. Their scene together is yet another stupendous one despite it’s lack of anal. I guess you have to save something for later…  The two-hour mark brings out the mope B-squad: John West, Jenner, Alex Sanders, Sergio, Jeremy Steele, Mike Hash, Mike Hawk and Brad Hardy to pound Eva orally “Gag Factor”-style in a four-man blowbang that concludes with a tit-drenching and facial finale. Marco Banderas and Voodoo (working more and more often lately without Nicole Sheridan) double-team Eva in the following scene in a two-on-one that sees the former Marco Duato uncharacteristically lose himself temporarily and pop on Eva’s ass after being inside her after a scant few minutes. Make no mistake, it’s apparently hard work having to fuck Eva Angelina and DP her with another guy, as Banderas so graciously sacrificed himself to show us. Even if no one else does, I appreciate the effort and the gesture, Marco. I understand. But the scene goes on with even more anal and double-penetration action until both fellas liberally frost her face with goo and push her down to tongue-mop what landed on the floor.  Behind the Scenes (which, in case you didn’t know, reveals just how disgustingly close the camera has to be to the action to get some of those tight penetration shots), a Cumshot Recap, Photo Gallery and Trailers (G For Gianna, Bikini-Clad Cum Sluts, Boob Bangers 4, Angels of Debaucher 7, Suck It Dry 4 and Wet Food) comprise the bulk of usual and expected extras. Not so typical, though, is the “Music Player” option which lets you select and play individual songs from the movie.  Meeting Eva Angelina in the few days preceding the AVN Awards was a dramatically eye-opening and telling experience. Her humility was a surprise considering her accumulation of recent successes. She was modest, respectful and almost shy; seemingly unaffected by the fact that unbeknownst to her, her life as she knew it, after four years of toiling thanklessly for so long, was about to change. Many outside observers and inside prognosticators may have incorrectly assumed that last year belonged to a returning and rejuvenated Brianna Love but the truth is that Eva Angelina was ‘07’s darling and it was a major oversight on Adult Video News magazine’s part to not have her nominated for Female Performer of the Year. Her winning of Best Actress-Video is a bit of consolation but make no mistake: with that win, in an instant everything changed. A new queen was crowned, a star was born and the first official chapter in the story of a future legend was written. This is a feature where you don’t need more than thirty seconds of observation before you realize you’re seeing something special. I’m sure much will be made of the rating I awarded but the truth is, had this movie come from anyone else, it would be an easy five-stars. However, I don’t consider Jonni Darkko just “anyone else” and thus hold him to a higher standard. Most other movies, I compare to everything else available. With Darkko, you can only compare him to his own previous efforts. I consider it akin to a professor grading his favorite and star pupil more harshly than the rest of the class. So don’t take it personal (incidentally, I rated the sex “exceptional”). Because overall, what we have here is this year’s first serious candidate for Best All-Sex Release yet again, and featuring one of the most dynamic young stars currently working who scarily enough, has a great many years ahead of her still. Let’s collectively cross our fingers.  |
