Let My Puppets Come is a real oddity in the world of adult film being the first, and only, adult puppet musical movie. The film is an adult puppet show that lampoons the adult film industry, with well-made puppets, extensive musical numbers, and a good heaping of low-brow humor. Let My Puppets Come isn't going to be for everyone in fact, the viewers that will genuinely enjoy the film will be in the minority. For the right viewer, though, Let My Puppets Come is a fun film. Vinegar Syndrome has done an excellent job with their Blu-ray and DVD combo pack with excellent picture and sound quality. [read the full review]

Sunset Entertainment could have made a definitive collector's edition of Deep Throat with a new color corrected 2K scan of Deep Throat, a 2K scan of Deep Throat - Part 2, with the uncut version of the film, and collected all of the extras that have appeared on the various Deep Throat releases over the years. Instead, we get this release, which doesn't offer anything that hasn't already been offered before. If you don't own either the High Def Entertainment DVD of Deep Throat or the Intimate Film Blu-ray of Deep Throat the Sunset Entertainment release might be worth buying on a significant sale. review from 11/18/2017:
Deep Throat is a historically significant film within the adult film industry due to the part the film played in kicking off the porno chic era. That aside, Deep Throat is nowhere near the best film to come out of the golden age of adult films nor was it anywhere near the best film to have been made by Gerard Damiano. Deep Throat is a cute comedy that will give the viewer some laughs and offers some nice looking sex scenes. Deep Throat is worth watching but don't expect anything groundbreaking here. Intimate Film has done a frustrating job with their Blu-ray and DVD combo mediabook release of Deep Throat. The image appears to have been upscaled from 720p poorly to 1080p for the release and the audio sounds very flat. [read the full review]

review from 11/19/2009:
The Devil In Miss Jones is the 40th Anniversary Edition from VCX. This is a 2 disc set, presented in widescreen format. The transfer looks pretty good, considering the age of the film. The first disc contains the XXX feature, with optional commentary from Gerard Damiano, while the second disc has the softcore version. Worth having if you enjoy classic porn. [read the full review]

This is a classic film that I’m sure everyone has heard of. VCX has just released a 40th anniversary edition (never mind that it’s only 36 years old) in a special 2-disk “Definitive Collector’s Edition). Every porn fan should at least have an understanding of the classics and should view this film at least once. Porn has evolved greatly since DMJ was mad (and for the better, IMO). Devil in Miss Jones is a dark drama that is a must-see adult classic. The story of Justine Jones, who commits suicide and finds herself trapped in between heaven and hell, holds up well and the sex scenes and acting make this a true classic. This is an adult film that if you haven't seen it yet, it is time to correct that. Media Blasters has done an excellent job with their Definitive Collector's Edition two-DVD release through the Raincoat Theater line of Kitty Media of Devil in Miss Jones. review from 6/14/2017:
VCX's Ultimate Classic Collection combines two of VCX's most popular classic adult films Debbie Does Dallas and Devil in Miss Jones. Debbie Does Dallas continues to be an extremely popular adult film even to this day and is likely one of the best known of all adult films. The story of Debbie, a cheerleader, is one that transcends time and remains as fresh then as it does today. Debbie Does Dallas isn't the greatest adult film ever made but it certainly is fun to watch. If you haven't seen it yet and you are a fan of the genre, it is time to correct that. Devil in Miss Jones is a dark drama that is a must-see adult classic. The story of Justine Jones, who commits suicide and finds herself trapped in between heaven and hell, holds up well and the sex scenes and acting make this a true classic. Again, this is an adult film that if you haven't seen it yet, it is time to correct that. There are far better versions of the two films out on the market. [read the full review]

review from 10/4/2005:
A documentary exploring the societal impact the adult film known as Deep Throat had on mainstream America. "Deep Throat" was just another X-Rated adult film when it was made in 1972. Finished in six days, for the sum of $25,000, (financed by the mob) the film to date has grossed over $600 Million dollars. Inside Deep Throat makes a decent albeit incomplete attempt at explaining how & why it became so popular. The documentary explores the subject of pornography, and how the U.S. Government under Nixon had a problem with it. It's interesting to note the timeliness of this documentary in light of the current Bush Administrations' recent witchhunting pronouncement on an all new "war on porn"... It seems the events of 30 years ago are trying to replay themselves and makes Inside Deep Throat a must see. Deep Throat was made by former hairdresser and acclaimed porn director Gerard Damiano and starred an actress who went by the screen name of Linda Lovelace. [read the full review]

review from 10/2/2005:
I had high hopes for Inside Deep Throat but the film fell short of what I was hoping for. That isn't to say it is not an enjoyable film to watch, but expect more of an overview of culture in the 70s and the rise of adult films then than a documentary that manages to focus directly on Deep Throat. Fans of films from the Golden Age will probably enjoy this film and viewers who don't understand why some adult movie studios are afraid of going to jail for content in adult films should watch this film as well. I'd recommend giving the film a rental over purchasing it. [read the full review]

review from 9/23/2015:
A young, aristocratic woman, played by Terri Hall, falls headfirst into Jamie Gillis' dark and ultimately deadly web when she has a chance encounter with the harsh, unfeeling millionaire one fateful evening. Indeed, from the moment of their initial meeting at an establishment of fine-dining, Hall finds herself entranced and enveloped by Gillis' austere and mysterious demeanor, and the dark, sinuous path upon which the two set forth turns not only sinisterly sexual but dangerously controlling, as well. How it all will turn out for the pair is anybody's guess, but the outcome certainly looks ominous...at best. Such is the case in "The Story of Joanna", an acclaimed Golden Age release from director Gerard Damiano and the Alpha Blue Archives. [read the full review]

review from 1/15/2007:
Tis a shame that great film like this are treated like dirt by the companies that release them. Gerard Damiano's powerful and majestically shot masterpiece inspired by the great French Novel "The Story Of O" is one of the finest hardcore films EVER made by one of the genre's finest directors. Jamie Gillis is Jason, a wealthy socialite who discovers he is dying of a rare (although unnamed) desease. He thus "adopts" a young woman, Joanna (Teri Hall) to keep him company during his final days. She however is unaware of his ailments. Their relationship quickly turns from one of short term lovers to a violent bondage filled endurance test for poor Joanna who is tormented in just about every way possible. Slowly, as their profane relationship continues to develop, Jason becomes weaker and weaker due to his mysterious ailment while Joanna grows stronger and stronger through her torments... Damiano's great strengths as a director are present in every aspect of this masterpiece. [read the full review]

review from 3/25/2003:
Terri Hall......as Joanna Jamie Gillis....as Jason Zebedy Colt.....as Griffin Juliet Graham...as Gina "The Story of Joanna" from 1975 has the most highly developed storyline of any porn film I have seen. I don't want to give to much of it away, but it involves Jamie Gillis being a millionaire who picks up this woman and sets about degrading her for a special purpose he has for her later in the movie. The degredation of her though is very central to the plot of the movie and after what I had read of how this was one of the rougher movies of the 70's I was surprised by how tame it was. The acting in this movie is top notch, I have not seen a porn film with acting equal to this one. The music is excellent and the sets are beautiful. The audio and video on the dvd for this movie are not that good though, about equal to some of the classics VCX puts out on dvd. [read the full review]

I had heard some disturbing comments about it, but I can't imagine what it was that bothered people about this movie. I thought it was kinda cute. But then, I'm not 100 certain that I'm not some kinda pervert, because this is listed in the 'Fetish' category, too, so there could be something here that I'm missing. Sure, there was the part about about the dog fucking his mistress, but they're dang puppets, for christssakes! It was one of the funniest parts, too, with the dog as a real smooth talker who gets into her shorts. [read the full review]

review from 1/8/2003:
Deep Throat is perhaps the most famous porn film of all time. It is certainly a good movie, but certainly not one of the best. It isn't in the same class as films such as The Opening of Misty Beethoven or The Devil In Miss Jones. I found the soundtrack to the movie, which was original music, to be quite fitting and to give the movie a nice feeling. The title track especially is a catchy tune, "don't row a boat, don't get your goat, that's all she wrote, deep throat" it does stick in your head. The plot to the movie what there is of one is that Linda Lovelace isn't enjoying sex as much as she'd like, so she and her friend throw an orgy, this doesn't get Linda's bell's ringing though so Linda's friend talks Linda into seeing a Doctor played by Harry Reems. He discovers that her clitoris is in her throat, and encourages her to learn the art of deep throat starting right there with him. This really gets her bells ringing. [read the full review]
