Initial Expectations: I’m expecting something that I haven’t really seen before. I think that’s all I can safely say.
Initial Reaction: Although it’s not extremely sexy, it is a lot of fun.
Who Should Watch It : Anybody who got turned on watching the Muppet show, who wants something different, or who’s just looking for a good laugh
Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants to see real people having sex
Audio /Video Quality: The audio isn’t the best, but is fairly well balanced. The video is grainy, but with the age of the feature it doesn’t seem too out of place. It’s well lit and there aren’t any extremely noticeable artifacts.
Music: The music comes and goes throughout the feature, similar to how it is with main stream features. It’s often on the loud side, and has the cheesy porn music people have been making fun of for decades.
Disc Problems / Complaints: There’s no time stamp, which always makes a DVD look cheap and badly put together to me. It also makes it so you have no clue how long the feature is and you can’t jump around easily through the feature.
Menus: The main menu has a kind of amusing backdrop with the choices being shots of the movie with a little writing on them. It’s really kind of shoddy looking, like most of Caballero’s DVDs, and shows such lack of care that the movie’s name is even misspelled. The chapter menu has much the same style, but is a little closer to the standard chapter menu where you can choose a scene based on a small clip.
The Feature: Gerard Damiano was one of the early pioneers in the adult film industry with features such as the infamous Deep Throat. Several years after Deep Throat Damiano wrote and directed this piece, which as far as I know is the only dirty puppet show around.
The story revolves around businessmen Ned, Fred, and Red who need to come up with some big bucks so Mr. Big doesn’t collect the money they owe him from their kneecaps. They come up with the idea of making a porno to come up with the cash thanks to delivery boy Jimmy. They play around with ideas such as a girl and her dog (since he’s had his shots) and the nurse fantasy (completely with a Northian ending) and finally get director Gepetto with his assistant Pinocchio. Since everybody’s used to commercials, they also try to lengthen out the feature with ads for Sweet Fish Vaginal Deodorant, the Climax watch since isn’t it time you had a Climax, and Lusterine mouthwash, which most of the commercials starring real porn stars from the time the feature was made.
Let My Puppets Come nice keeps with the puppet show idea throughout the entire feature. Yes, there are real people in it, but they’re normally used as cameos for a minute or two rather than staying around for any length of time, such as most of the appearances by real people in the original Muppet Movie. Penny Nichols has the largest real person role as a stripper who wants a little puppet love, but the puppet’s a little to kinky for her tastes. Actually, the lack of people is part of what makes the feature so much fun. It lets the feature concentrate completely on one subject, rather than splitting it with typical porno scenes, which I think might have brought down both aspects. As is, you know the main focus is humor from roughly the first minute of the movie, and you enjoy the sex as entertaining.
Surprisingly, Let My Puppets Come had a kind of timeless feel to it, despite being almost thirty years old. Cheesy puppets are still being used here and there, or at least are having a bit of a comeback with some of the seventies resurgence. It also helps that The Muppets have stayed around as long as they have, which makes the puppets here come off as a bit more of a parody. Many of the porn jokes are just as appropriate today as they were then, especially with some of the legality comments. There are also some very old jokes, such as the standard head nurse joke and the police “busting” the porn set, but overall I think Let My Puppets Come could be enjoyed by almost anybody who enjoys porn. Anybody at least in their later twenties, however, will catch plenty of other jokes, such as a “Sorry Charlie” sign lowered into a fish tank on a hook after the “worm” the fish is munching on is removed from the tank.
All put together, Let My Puppets Come is a lot of fun that any porn fan should check out when they feel the need for a good laugh. There’s no sex and it’s very short, but it’s a well written piece that has a lot of fun with the porn industry. It keeps a fairly innocent look at the porn industry and although it brings some taboo subjects in like sex with animals and she-male surprises, it never gets as nasty as even mentioning anal sex. I’ll admit that I wasn’t really expecting to keep this one for any length of time, but that changed from trying to pass it on as a gag gift to lending it to the friends that raid my porn collection since it’s something I think most people would pass right on by otherwise. Let My Puppets Come is an extremely fun adult feature that any porn fan with a little free time should take the time to check out.

Extras: The photo gallery lasts about a minute and a quarter with about six seconds per grainy full screen photo. There’s also a list of movies yet to come from Caballero, internet information, and phone sex spam.
Themes: Puppets doing animals, oral, gangbang, and she-males
Raincoat Factor: Low
Overall: Currently, Let My Puppets Come can be found online for between $8 and $18 with a few stores offering it near the low end. Although the transfer leaves a bit to be desired and there’s basically no extras, I’d still recommend it near the low end. It’s a lot of fun with humor that should appeal to most porn fans.
Note to Caballero: Although I can understand why most studios wouldn’t put much effort into making this a top of the line DVD, the lack of effort towards this DVD shows you as a company to avoid. At the very least you should be able to spell the name of the feature right, let alone including a time stamp. If this is the effort you’re going to put towards DVDs, please sell the rights to a company who can do things right. You very well might end up with more money and you’ll be looked at a lot better by fans of the features.
