Dark Dreams (Western Visuals) review summaries:
fu_q's
A raunchy romance writer looking for new material, the gorgeous Samantha Strong, finds inspiration in her erotically-charged dreams of a kinky, anything goes, sex club after a steamy discussion with a bartender, Ron Jeremy, gets to her. With only her imagination setting the boundaries, Strong's nocturnal, carnal conjurings flip from one sexy scenario to the next...and the viewer is most definitely the winner. Such is the case in "Dark Dreams", an overall-good, 1992 release from director Robert McCallum and Western Visuals. [read the full review]

Armed with a telescope and an overactive libido, Tommy Byron finds himself becoming more and more detached from reality as he peeps in on his super-hot (and super-freaky!) neighbors, Joanna Storm and Laurie Smith. Of course, as he continues his descent into despondence, his aunt (Honey Wilder) begins to take note. Her solution? To hire a private psychologist, the lovely Kay Parker, to treat young Tom while she''s away for a weekend. Needless to say, this brings about its own unique set of sexy circumstances...and things heat up! So goes "Private Teacher", a very good, 1983 release from director Robert McCallum and Caballero. A feature from the early 80s. Kay Parker is a therapist brought in to coax withdrawn teen Tom Byron out of his shell. Mainly MF sex with one FF bathtub scene, one solo-female scene, and a brief j/o by Tom Byron. Your opinion will largely depend on whether you like Playboy or Hustler, as this is definitely the former. Sex is vanilla and not so explicit as modern stuff. Kay Parker is only in one sex scene. But overall it's fun and well done. [read the full review]

Hot Rackets review summaries:
fu_q's
The "frigid", brunette legend, Candida Royalle, goes to investigate when her husband, Jon Martin, is spending far too much of his time at the local, members-only tennis club and far too little of it with her. Of course, what she finds is that the club is predominantly a horny haven for husbands and ho's, whose focus is distinctly more on fucking than it is on fuzzy balls and rackets. Whether Candida will get totally pissed off by her discovery or merely succumb to the club's various sexual trappings becomes the pressing question of the day. Such is the case in "Hot Rackets", an exceptional, 1979 release from Cal Vista and director Robert McCallum. [read the full review]

Directed by Robert McCallum 1979 Runtime: 1 hour 20 minutes 38 seconds Truly a classic adult film. That it is a product of the seventies is clear from the opening credits where the screen is broken into four parts with a tennis ball in the middle. Over the tennis ball are displayed the names of the cast and primary crew, and the four screens play various clips from the film whetting the viewers appetite and preparing them for what is about to come. It all starts when Herb Adler (John Martin) wakes up and rolls over to his nude wife, Liz (Candida Royalle). He begins to grope her and tries to arouse her, but she will have none of it. Through an angry exchange on Herb's part, we find out that this is their usual behavior. Herb claims she is frigid. She does not deny this, and Herb storms off to get a shower. In the shower, the maid Sally (Chris Cassidy) expresses her sympathy for Herb. [read the full review]

Erotic City (NuTech) review summaries:
classic connoisseur's
Year: 1985 Length: 86 minutes Even though this is part of the NuTech line of Classic dvd collecion series this is certainly no classic. You might think it is by looking at the cast involved (Harry Reems, Jamie Gillis, John Leslie, Amber Lynn) and directed by Robert McCallum, but unfortunately the sex and the storyline to this movie are severely lacking. The plot to this story is supposed to be something similar to that of a soap opera, but I didn't find it to be any more similar to a soap opera than any other porn film I've seen. Basically the problem is that there was no plot at all and this is a problem in a porn film that pretends to have a plot. This movie pretended to have a story line and it had just enough to get in the way but not enough to make any sense, so this is one problem. Either they should have just went wall to wall sex with this one or have developed the story line more fully and made a full feature sex film out of this movie. [read the full review]

Centerspread Girls (Caballero) review summaries:
andyblake's
Most of what I wrote about "The Ecstasy Girls" also applies to this film. This is a 1982 Harold Lime production, directed by Robert McCallum. With Veronica Hart and Annette Haven, there's more star power in this flick, but the final product is not quite as good as the wonderful "Ecstasy Girls." The plot is "Ecstasy Girls" in reverse. Here, Georgina Spelvin is the publisher of a soft-core porn mag called "Panther," featuring centerfolds of smart college girls. Some morality guardians form a committee called Morality over Madness (MOM), and try to put Panther out of business. Spelvin has to round up her centerfold graduates to go out and seduce the committee members, retain evidence of the hanky-panky, and ultimately blackmail the members into ceasing their assault on Panther magazine. Running Time: Approx. 95 min (There are no scene indexes or time codes on the DVD) Cast: Annette Haven, Veronica Hart, Jesie St. James, Georgina Spelvin, Desire Cousteau, Lisa De Leeuw, Tara Aire, Jacqueline Brooks, Frank Hollowell, Richard Bolla, Michael Morrison, Eric Edwards, and Mike Horner (who isn't even listed in the credits) Director: Robert McCulum Extras: Photo gallery and Jump to a Scene (I guess this is actually an extra feature when you don't have chapter markings on a DVD) Audio / Video Quality: The audio and video quality is better than what I would have expected for an adult film this old. The video is average and the audio echoes in spots, but is much better than other adult films of this age, such as the Original Debbie Does Dallas. The Review: Centerspread Girls kind of reminds me of my youth. It revolves around MOM trying to stop porn (or at least not let me have it). In this case, MOM is Morality Over Madness, a moral majority group which has been trying to shut down Panther magazine for years. [read the full review]

A simple call from a shady and manipulative ex-lover, Jamie Gillis, for a pair of hookers to service a high-end client goes horribly wrong for a madam with a heart of gold, Veronica Hart, when one of the two ladies meets her untimely demise in a swimming pool whilst on the job. Quickly, and despite trying to get out of the skin trade, Veronica finds herself buried deeper and deeper in a high stakes game of drugs, sex, and murder that can end in only one of two ways for the unsuspecting young woman...and only one of them is good. Such is the case in "Amanda By Night", a phenomenal, 1981 release from Caballero and director Robert McCallum. [read the full review]

One of the best American hardcore films ever made (by director Gary Graver) has been given a TERRIBLE DVD release by Caballero. A true genre masterpiece which features masterful performances from Veronica Hart, Richard Bolla, and especially Lisa DeLeeuw and Samantha Fox. A superior film in every respect which deserves a lot more than it has gotten on DVD. For that reason, pay more and get an old VHS. [read the full review]

Here is a Harold Lime/Robert McCallum classic from 1982 that is still famous over 20 years later. It won six adult film critic awards, including best picture. Because it was filmed near the end of the "golden age," there aren't quite as many exterior shots as there would have been in movies a few years older. The plot involves a madam named Amanda (Veronica Hart) who, as a favor to her former pimp and lover (Jamie Gillis), sets up an S & M session for a local politician. The girls that she sends for this session (Lisa de Leeuw and Samantha Fox) are later found dead. R. Bolla plays the straight-arrow homicide detective trying to solve the case, without much help from Amanda. To make matters worse, there's a corrupt vice squad cop (Ron Jeremy) who is constantly getting in the way. By today's standards, this is couples' fare, with relatively short sex scenes, and loads of plot. It's so good-hearted, it could almost be on the Family Channel. Veronica Hart gets to over-act and ham it up ridiculously. It's a good movie, but a poor DVD. [read the full review]
