Review brief: Decadence is a silent film with a semi- creepy soundtrack mixed with water drops, sighs and moans. Story wise it's gorgeous Chelsea Blue masturbating while having dream like flashbacks of sexual encounters with other women and a single m/f couple. On the plus side all the women look beautiful. The photography and production is stylish. On the negative side I am a Dalia Grey fan and this is the first time she doesn't appear in an Andrew Blake production since she started working with him. The editing is a little too jumpy for my taste. I wish Blake would let the scenes of Chelsea Blue play out longer before cutting in and out of her. Also I wish he had done an audio commentary like the one he did back in 1994 on laserdisc for Les Femmes Erotiques (The Erotic women) which is very enjoyable and informative. Extras. There is a semihidden trailer, Still gallery and a 30 min. film called Private Property. It stars Celeste and Zdenka.

Review brief: Running Time: 1:23 Extras: None. This was a big disappointment. With how much of a classic the original Debbie is, it really deserved a commentary at the very least. Audio / Video: This was the main fault with the DVD of Debbie Does Dallas. The video is pretty consistent with most video form the 70s. Considering how old the movie is, they probably did a pretty good job restoring it. The audio, however, is horrible. Most of the movie sounds like it was recorded in the shower. Actually, some of it was, but I had hoped that the restoration would have done a little better job with the rest of it. The rest: This is one of those adult films that although not perfect, everybody should have a copy of. I remember sneaking my parent's copy of Debbie away to watch when I was a teenager. It was a right of passage at that time for almost every teenage boy, and I hate to deny my children that right someday! There's a reason Debbie has stayed around so long and is still thought of so highly, despite the audio and video quality.

Review brief: Peter North's NORTH POLE series have gotten some mixed reviews among different adult circles throughout the world wide web. After reviewing volume number seven of this series, I am at a loss as to understanding why anybody would complain. This all-sex series takes a straightforward approach to its sex scenes, so those looking for a plot or theme would be better off with the latest VCA releases than with the simple set-ups presented here. Naturally, this series is named after The Porn Star Formerly Known as Matt Ramsey, who is also well-known for his prodigious resultant orgasms, which give new meaning to the term "pop-shot." Peter North has been in the business for nearly twenty years, and he is as recognizable as most of the industry's sex starlets when it comes to popularity. In my naivete, I always believed that he derived his name from the Peter Brady character, with whom he shares a somewhat close resemblance [don't laugh, I said "somewhat!"]. It wasn't until years later that I finally understood the meaning of his name.

Review brief: My first experience with Private is definitely memorable. I cant say that Sex Sliders met all my expectations for Private, but my expectations were very high. Its so refreshing to watch natural bodies and listen to genuine moaning. While the accents make deciphering the dialog difficult at times, they add to the eroticism. The anal sex is a bit overused for my tastes, but at least I can see the insertion and know whats going on. Private has definitely won me over, even though this isnt one of their most renowned movies. Plot: The plot and dialog are exactly what youd expect, banal and hilarious. Our leading characters, Caroline Cage, Dru Barrymore, David Perry, Christian Christoph, are time travelers. They go from hedonistic orgy to the land where only the rich can legally fuck. There is of course a resistance movement in the sex-controlled society, whose weapons are the pornos they produce in their lair. Between the time warp, la resistance, and the appearance of the men in black, I felt like I was watching the plots of a thousand Hollywood movies rolled into one.

Review brief: "Vortex" directed by veteran filmmaker Jim Enright is yet another fine release from VCA, a company which is known for their technically superior DVDs as well as for hot sex. Starring contract stars Juli Ashton, Vicca and Nikita, as well as Nici Sterling and Melanie Stone, "Vortex" employs the same digital special effects and background setting used (and sometimes over-used) in classics like Michael Ninn's "Sex" and "Latex" but they do not distract from fuck and suck scenes (which are, after all, the raison d' etre of porn).The DVD cover art has a simply stunning picture of Juli Ashton, decked out in a skin-tight silver outfit in a quasi-martial arts-action pose. Since attractive packaging is one of the single biggest factors in the sales or rental of a porn video, kudos must go to whoever artfully composed this shot, which manages to show off Juli's fantastic body (yet barely shows any skin!) and conveys the movie's science fiction motif about time travel.

I had only seen the trailer, which blew me away.Story : Actually there's not a lot to mention here, this is more or less an all-sex video, much in the Andrew Blake style, but more hardcore (as usual for Ninn) and sadly shot on video, though you really can't tell from looking at it (cameraman Barry Wood won the 1999 AVN Award for videography for his work). Jamie Gillis plays a man who forsake the heavens and disrespected God because He took his wife and child. For this, Gillis has been cursed by the 'almighty' (as God is called throughout the movie) to live in an eternity of darkness.

Review brief: Hot off the heels of "Virtual Sex with Tera Patrick," this Amerasian super-starlet is spotlighted in yet another interactive, first-person video called, appropriately enough, "My Plaything." Let me state from the start that after being very disappointed in the over-hyped and over-praised "Virtual Sex" edition, I was pretty much expecting more of the same, or rather less of the same. Shot against a dark, sterile background --- as if we were on location in some condemned building with plastic garbage bags lining the walls --- "Virtual Sex with Tera Patrick" was, to me, a decidedly un-erotic, dank looking video with dreadfully phony cumshots from a prosthetic penis. Despite the star of the show looking sexy as ever, there was something cheap about the deliberately sparse setting, which made the "experience" rather depressing than exciting. Moreover, the on-screen menus had some of the ugliest graphics I had ever seen, which greatly detracted from the viewing experience (true, they were removable, but it made toggling the controls all the more difficult).

Review brief: Directed by the infamous Dark Bros., "The Devil In Miss Jones 3 and 4" were critically-acclaimed classic sequels to the original ground-breaking porno which even reknowned radio personality (I hesitate to call him a journalist) Larry King proclaimed as one of his favorite films (I am not making this up!). Despite the dated look of most of the porno stars, and pre-CGI set designs and special effects, these two films still have a daring and surreal look to them. The sex, however, is not as heated as some of the Dark Bros better efforts, like the the Traci Lords-edited "New Wave Hookers" which preceded this work.

Review brief: With films like "Dark Garden" and "Bliss" showing up on DVD, complete with director's commentaries and "making of featurettes," VCA has done a commendable job releasing high profile prestige projects in today's porn market. Directors like Antonio Passolini and Michael Ninn are among the very few filmmakers who actually employ mood and atmosphere as a backdrop for good old athletic sucking and fucking, and the results are exceptional, solid erotic films as opposed to assembly-line porn vids.However, the formulaic, shot-on-videotape pornos which were so prevalent in the late eighties and nineties can often be equally arousing, despite their cheesy looks or cliched plots; it just all depends on a competent director, and hot performers. BRIDE ON THE RUN, a recent VCA release, fits that exact bill. Directed by veteran pornographer Fred Lincoln, this movie is a formulaic, unpretentious video which I found surprisingly satisfying and even refreshing.

Review brief: Directed by Michael Ninn, DARK GARDEN features an all-star line-up of VCA's hottest contract girls, and has already received much in the way of acclaim and attention. After seeing it twice already, I can honestly say that all the praise heaped on this stylishly-directed, hot little epic is well-deserved. However, I must point out that consistent with VCA's policy, condoms are used throughout, and I will admit up front that I have a prejudice against seeing them in adult films. Of course I understand the health and safety reasons for condom use, and certainly, I feel that safe sex is important. But for me, their presence ruins the fantasy of adult movie, and it warns me ahead of time that there will be no oral money shot at the end of any given encounter. Considering how old the movie is, they probably did a pretty good job restoring it. The audio, however, is horrible. Most of the movie sounds like it was recorded in the shower. Actually, some of it was, but I had hoped that the restoration would have done a little better job with the rest of it. The rest: This is one of those adult films that although not perfect, everybody should have a copy of. I remember sneaking my parent's copy of Debbie away to watch when I was a teenager. Review brief: Hot off the heels of "Virtual Sex with Tera Patrick," this Amerasian super-starlet is spotlighted in yet another interactive, first-person video called, appropriately enough, "My Plaything." Let me state from the start that after being very disappointed in the over-hyped and over-praised "Virtual Sex" edition, I was pretty much expecting more of the same, or rather less of the same. Review brief: Directed by the infamous Dark Bros., "The Devil In Miss Jones 3 and 4" were critically-acclaimed classic sequels to the original ground-breaking porno which even reknowned radio personality (I hesitate to call him a journalist) Larry King proclaimed as one of his favorite films (I am not making this up!). Despite the dated look of most of the porno stars, and pre-CGI set designs and special effects, these two films still have a daring and surreal look to them. Directors like Antonio Passolini and Michael Ninn are among the very few filmmakers who actually employ mood and atmosphere as a backdrop for good old athletic sucking and fucking, and the results are exceptional, solid erotic films as opposed to assembly-line porn vids.However, the formulaic, shot-on-videotape pornos which were so prevalent in the late eighties and nineties can often be equally arousing, despite their cheesy looks or cliched plots; it just all depends on a competent director, and hot performers. BRIDE ON THE RUN, a recent VCA release, fits that exact bill. Directed by veteran pornographer Fred Lincoln, this movie is a formulaic, unpretentious video which I found surprisingly satisfying and even refreshing.
