Directed by Rodney Moore. Date of Production: 7/2000 (box: 10/2000, DVD released 6/2001). Running time: ~ 2 hours 10 minutes. Other than the initial volume of the "I Swallow" series, I haven't seen a Rodney Moore title worth watching that didn't feature Nadia Nyce; suffice to say that "I Swallow 11" didn't change this personal truism. It starts out promisingly, too, with a decent scene starring Syren, but plunges into mediocre territory (and worse) immediately thereafter. (To me, Rodney's movies are only tolerable when he enlists bigger-name talent.) If cum-swallowing's your kink, and you've already watched the first in this series, look to another line to satisfy your fetish. The first scene here is the best (the only good one, in my opinion).

Running time: over three hours (as claimed on the cover; I didn't have the patience to time it, but given how many trailers are here, it's a credible estimate). "Private DVD Sampler 3" features somewhere in the neighborhood of 130 trailers; there's considerable overlap with the second Private DVD sampler, but this newer sampler include trailers for DVDs like "The Last Muse", "Italian Flair", "External Ecstasy", and "Sex Opera." I've only seen a few of the recent batch of Private DVDs, and the trailers for them come across with more excitement than the movies did. These newer titles I've watched seem to place more emphasis on plot than older ones did, and this is reflected in the trailers (they're showier, with less sex and more depictions of leaden plotting and poor acting).

I wanted to like "Best Friends" more than I did; not least among the things it has going for it are good sex scenes, but I found the movie curiously flat, and I predominantly blame this effect on the plot and acting. I don't watch plotted porn for complex, interwoven story lines, but a reasonable effort is always appreciated, and may even help me enjoy a movie a little more than usual (e.g., Masque). Conversely, a lackluster story and/or setting can really drag something down for me. Unfortunately, "Best Friends" falls into the latter category; the resulting movie is a mostly nondescript affair, despite some fine sex scenes. The story is a minor variation of the old "cool guy tries to get nerdy friend laid" formula (see "Talk Dirty to Me", et. al.).

I've been really partial to this little flick since I first saw it on VHS a few years ago; the cast features some of my favorites, the sex is generally very good, and while the story itself is isn't exceptional, the acting doesn't cause me to wince. It's just a simple, straightforward depiction of a common fantasy (sex between a group of long-time friends) with a good cast and some hot performances. The plot concerns a gathering between three couples for a Halloween party, and the individual desire to have group sex that all of them secretly share. There are a number of brief asides between the actual story where each character, dressed in their Halloween costume, talks into the camera.

Sitting through "Fade to Blue" is like watching a collision between an extended "VH1"-style music video and a porno flick while zonked on Quaaludes. Imagine gorgeous photography, high production values, a good-looking cast, and dull, slow motion sex set to a bland, ever-present music soundtrack, and you have a good idea of what's in store. "Fade to Blue" tries very hard to be a slick, glossy stab at "art", but does this at the expense of any real excitement in the sex scenes. It's a very pretty flick, really, but its looks can't make up for the fact that I was sorely disappointed with the action. Juli narrates between the scenes, telling memories of her upbringing with her father at a small diner/gas station in the desert, and this is where all the action is set.

But I confess I found "Fame..." pretty lacking; a few of the scenes were a veritable chore for me to get through, and most of the girls didn't do much for me. Although the sex was fairly nasty, much of it felt rather drawn-out and tedious. Some of the other "Butt Row" installments were significantly better than this one; here's hoping that those efforts make it to DVD before too long, and that they leave this disc in the dust. I can't say that I could get much out of this one.

I didn't find the cast as immediately appealing as that of "BY2", but the sex, editing and camerawork all showed marked improvements. I checked this DVD out solely because of the appearance of Aurora Snow, who was cute but lackluster in "BY2"; I wanted to give her a second chance, so to speak. I'm glad I did; there's little comparison between her scene in "BY2" and the one here. The other girls didn't exactly overwhelm me, but I did enjoy Scotti, Blazer, and Paige in their scenes as well. If you have an interest in Aurora, give this disc a look. The sex is the usual Anabolic/Diabolic level of nastiness, with a couple of notes.

I wouldn't say that I'm a rabid follower of Ms. Saint's, but I have liked what I've seen of her in the past, and was looking forward to seeing her here. From what I've gathered from reading other reviews, the Gaia line from Private was intended to appeal to couples; there's a bit of a story here, and the sex isn't as hard as the usual Private title (e.g., no DP's, fewer anal scenes, etc.). I had mixed feelings about this DVD; it's nice to see something different from Private, and I did enjoy most of the sex scenes, but I did wish that the women were more uniformly attractive.

The usual gripes I have do pop up a bit: poor lighting in spots, choppy editing, some bad camerawork, starting scenes in progress, etc. But the sex in this is very good, and the female cast is nothing to sneeze at, either. Despite a few of the usual missteps, this is among the best Anabolic titles I've seen, if not my favorite.

On the negative side, the women are the least attractive bunch I've ever seen in a Private disc; all are made up quite heavily, which adds to the harsh appearances of some. There was far too much phony grimacing and scowling during the sex (the director probably believes this is keeping in line with the disc's fetish theme; I think it's just corny, and not at all sexy). Last, and certainly not least of my irritations with this, was the damnable soundtrack.

If the sex in this had been uniformly good (and had the camerawork showcased the girls better), this might've been a winner, instead of just a pretty good teen-themed disc. Most of the female cast appealed to me; they're almost all tattoo- and piercing-free, and some are super-cute, in my opinion (Aurora, Kristina, and Kacey). All the girls, except Cheyenne, take oral/facial cumshots, with Tiffany, Kristina, and Kacey swallowing. Aurora does a very brief double vaginal. Kacey takes the DVD's only anal, and is DP'ed as well. She also does a little ass-to- mouth action, too.

I picked this one because I'd read positive reviews about the first "Bottom Feeders"; I was also swayed in no small part, by the awesome sight of Brittney's booty on the DVD case. (Not the first time, nor likely the last, that I chose something because of boxcover art.) I was mostly thankful that I did; the ladies are attractive, I liked the slow build in a couple of the scenes, and the sex is very good and quite nasty. I was a little disappointed with the video quality of this DVD, though. There were too many instances of digital artifacting for my liking (this may not bother most viewers, but bothered me to distraction a couple of times), and the cameramen could use some pointers (e.g., don't point the lens at the sun). Excess light in the scenes also gave some shots a washed-out quality.

On the one hand, the whole idea of one woman taking on several men has a nasty aspect to it that some of us find hard to resist. But detractors of these kinds of videos have their points, too; the whole "sex as an extreme sport" is emotionally lacking, and there's little variation aside from the usual position changes (and I won't mention the touchy subject of the sexual politics of gangbangs). "Gangbang Auditions #5" doesn't skimp on the raunch, but it does fall victim to the "sport-sex" pitfall; all that mindless fucking gets a little boring to watch after awhile. Still, this is a good title of its type. I'd picked this up out of curiosity for Mirage (Brianna Banks before the cartoonish implants), but I enjoyed the scenes with Bailey and Syren more.

I had wanted to see this to catch both Tera Patrick and Allysin Chaynes, but I was left disappointed with both their scenes, and the disc overall. I don't think that I'll be checking out any other titles in the series, if this DVD is representative of what Up and Cummers has to offer. The disc begins with Angelina Joy and her boyfriend Justin. She's kind of cute, but the scene is your typical amateur-style porno; it begins with a short interview, then her boyfriend joins her, and all the typical positions follow, capped by an internal cum shot (alright, the cream pie was an unexpected touch). The two go at it again, and the scene concludes with her grimacing through what looks like very painful anal intercourse, but she claims to enjoy it. Okay.

Review brief: Themes: European women, gaping anuses, group sex, facials, and double penetration. Overview: I don't consider myself much of a "raincoater". (Well, not an indiscriminate one, at least.) While I enjoy depictions of raunchy sex as much as the next street corner pervert, I confess that this DVD, while meeting my base expectations, left me disappointed for the most part. With a title like "Debauchery 6", I was anticipating a couple of hours' worth of nasty, raunchy sex, with enthusiastic, attractive-to- moderately attractive women, with an emphasis on anal sex and facials. Well...the anals and facials were there, but the women weren't as attractive as I'd hoped, and the sex suffered from both a numbing repetitiveness and a lack of heat. In typing up this review, I've discovered how difficult it is to describe the sex in this DVD.
