I haven't watched anything directed by Joey Silvera in a few years, but I have liked the few titles I've seen, and he comes across as a decent enough fellow. But I confess I found "Fame..." pretty lacking; a few of the scenes were a veritable chore for me to get through, and most of the girls didn't do much for me. Although the sex was fairly nasty, much of it felt rather drawn-out and tedious. Some of the other "Butt Row" installments were significantly better than this one; here's hoping that those efforts make it to DVD before too long, and that they leave this disc in the dust. I can't say that I could get much out of this one.

The tattoo/piercing craze must have been in full- flower when this was shot; just about every female performer has either or both. I feel the way about "body art" (if that's the appropriate euphemism) on women the same way I do about breast implants; they're not necessarily a turn- off, but in most cases, I don't care for them. Perhaps that's why I ranked the overall female looks as low as I did; there are a couple of girls here who I think are cute, but overall, no one really knocked me out. The men, except for a few, come across as either grungy or sleazy.

Most of the scenes begin with a little vignette, for which I'll skip descriptions (I found them kind of tiresome). As I mentioned earlier, the sex is on the raunchy side. All scenes end with a facial, and there are a few anals, a DP, and a bit of rimming (on both sexes).

The first scene starts off in a garage, with Amber blowing Peter and Rick, while an elderly guy (John Smith) undresses Papillon. Amber's actually cute, and there's even a bit of heat between her and Peter on the couch outside later in the scene, but Papillon completed ruined the whole thing for me with her supremely irritating little girl squeals of feigned delight. (Ostensibly, John brings her a Rolls Royce for her birthday, and she can't stop making annoying noises in appreciation. Baby talk from adults is a huge pet peeve of mine.) Regrettably, she doesn't let up on this act until well into the scene, which bugged me no end. Except for the brief part between Amber and Peter, the sex feels routine, despite of both women getting brief anal sex from Rick. Both take facials at the scene's end.

Scene two begins with Bridgette out by the pool, playing with the hose; we cut inside where she teases Ray by masturbating in front of him while he jacks off. She acts as if she climaxes, but I wasn't convinced. She teases him a little more, and he cums on her feet. After this, she meets up with Sean Rider in the bathroom (he's pretty dirty-looking), and begins with a blowjob, which is then followed by sex in the bedroom. Joey pops in for a little point-of-view stroking from Bridgette while she and Sean are at it. Sean cums on her back; she masturbates with toys a little bit, and then Sean comes back and cums on her face, while Joey cums on her breasts. Bridgette's reactions during sex came across as phony, which left me struggling to finish watching this scene.

Chandler and Christian meet in inside a trailer; the first few minutes of the scene is shot here, while the most of the rest of it looks like it was shot inside an apartment. There's mutual oral sex, some unconvincing dirty talk from Christian, some rimming by both, Christian masturbating Chandler (which Chandler seemed to really enjoy), Christian DP'ing Chandler with dildos, Chandler getting it in the ass, and finally Christian cumming on her neck and chin. I didn't care for Chandler, and Christian came across as sleazy, so this scene also felt tiresome.

The fourth scene starts with Darian playing shot put in a driveway; Sean Michaels comes over and pulls some anal beads out of her ass. She puts them in her mouth, and the two of them walk toward the house. The scene cuts to a close-up of the same beads being pulled out of Tom's ass by Tyler (no, he doesn't put them in his mouth); she blows him a little. Darian blows Sean while Tom rims Tyler. Darian returns the favor. The sex begins to get good when the guys take both of them side by side, doggystyle. Eventually, both girls are analled, and Darian is DP'ed. Both the girls take facials. Despite the girls not being what I'd consider "lookers", I enjoyed this scene; the sex was fairly hot during the latter half of it, and the two of them seemed into the sex throughout.

We meet up with Chandler again, and she and Tori proceed to have some lesbian sex in a warehouse; it's not what I'd call hot, but the two of them do seem to get some fun out of it. Chandler leaves, and Tori takes on Christian and Sean Rider. Joey jumps in mid-scene, and has sex with her, finishing by cumming in her mouth. Joey can't stop raving about her, but she looks entirely bored with him. After this interlude, she picks up where she left off with the other two men; Christian anals her, then cums on her chest, while Sean cums on her face. Tori's a cute girl, but the B/G sex in this scene never gets rises above mediocre (Tori saying, "Hurry up!" during the anal didn't exactly add to the heat level, either).

Traci and Peyton have lesbian sex in the pool; as with Chandler and Tori, it's not hot sex, but it is enjoyable. Jake enters the scene, and the girls blow him a bit. He takes Peyton doggystyle, and the sex continues inside. This was the second scene out of the DVD that I liked; Traci was cute and playful, and the sex got fairly hot once Jake entered the picture. The girls take a double facial, and swap/kiss afterwards.

For a five-year-old or so gonzo flick, the A/V quality is both better and worse than I expected. The video portion is actually decent, barring some grain in spots. The audio, however, is problematic; there's some extraneous background noise and a noticeable hiss/rumble throughout. I found this distracting, as were Joey's behind-the- camera comments.

The sole extra (besides the URLs for both the Evil Angel and Joey Silvera websites, if you can consider this an "extra") was a photo gallery. Oh, there's also a "fetish menu" that allows you to jump to certain portions of a few of the scenes, but only a brief clip is then played before the DVD jumps back to the menu again; kind of dumb, if you ask me. There are multiple chapter stops for each scene, though, which I appreciated.
