I feel the same way about Wicked Pictures contract girl Serenity as many wild animals feel about their young; I don't know whether to protect her with my life or to eat her. And I'm not just talking about cunnilingus. I think I might actually ingest a little, too. None of this is to condone cannibalism, of course, but it just goes to show how special she is. Serenity is of a different mold than most porn stars. When we would be led by others to believe the ideal girl is tall, sophisticated, and incredibly thin, Serenity shows up in Vengeance to lead us to a different conclusion. The ideal woman may, in fact, be small, curvy and different than all the other box cover girls staring back at us from adult video store shelves. And though Michael Zen's time shifting reincarnation mystery doesn't give her a chance to be silly, those who've seen her before know Serenity has a great sense of humor. And that counts for a lot.

But enough of this love letter to Serenity. The movie, which she carries, deserves some discussion of its own. Vengeance is a complicated story to classify, and so an incomplete summary might describe it this way: Serenity, the modern day reincarnation of a puritan woman wrongly executed by occultist civic leaders, seeks vengeance against the contemporary embodiments of her old enemies.

Like I said, it's an incomplete description, but watching the whole thing myself, I'm not sure it made much more sense than that. I get the feeling this is the result of a writer and director who is a little tired of watching people fuck. And so, he entertains himself with a story line that grows out of control, not unlike a cancer. Most porn fans don't care much at all for plot, and those who do may not care for one this complicated. Instead, Vengeance has a very sexy cast to support it, and the director isn't so bored with sex that he can't be bothered to deliver hot scenes. I just found the siren call of the fast forward button more tempting than usual.

When there is sex to watch, however, it's certainly worth the price of admission. Serenity and Jewel De'Nyle both know how to deliver the goods, and Gwen Summers is no fluff girl herself. Alternating between centuries, you'll often find the girls decked out in period costumes--a fact some fetishists might appreciate. Despite good make-up work-- especially on Chris Cannon--everything else about the flashback sequences is an anachronism. Breast implants didn't come over on the Mayflower, you know.

Historical discrepancies aside, Serenity's fans will be more than pleased from the opening sequence watching her give Chris Cannon head as only she can. After the facial finish, fans will continue their appreciation of her as she joins an all girl orgy with Jewel De'Nyle, Gwen Summers, and Kyle Ireland. Later, she pairs off again with Cannon for sex so energetic I suspect a physician might have been standing by just off camera. Knowing the star of the movie is who most people pay their money to see, Wicked gives it's audiences their money's worth.

I confess, Jewel De'Nyle is a favorite of mine. I've always preferred brunettes, but it's more than her hair color that arouses me. Watch her work with Lee Stone, and maybe you'll understand. Switching back and forth between the past and modern times, we get to watch them fuck in both time periods. While normally I hate switching between scenes, the fact both star the same two people make it exciting.

This is also a well produced DVD. Wicked always does a good job with their transfers, so in addition to the clear image and sound you expect, there are many extra's offered here, as well. Damn near everything you could ask for is included on the disc: behind the scenes footage, audio commentary from Zen and Serenity, photo galleries, an interview with Serenity, audio bios, and all the other free swag like trailers and internet links that Wicked Pictures always pass out with their DVDs. Zen takes his movie a little too seriously on the commentary track, perhaps, but I'm not listening to hear him criticize himself either. And Serenity is on hand to liven up the mood.

Of course, Serenity enlivens more than the commentaries. Fans know what I'm talking about. Frankly, this could have been a movie about a girl having sex on an unfinished porno set, but as long as that girl was Serenity and she was shot as well as she is here, I'd still give it my recommendation.
