Review brief: When budding filmmaker Eric Masterson sets out to get the true story on up and coming hottie Ava Rose, he gets much more than he bargained for. Unfortunately, the viewer gets far less. Although Ava does appear in two scenes, she comes off more as a prop than anything in the movie and never really seems likable. The sex is okay, but is constantly held back by choppy editing and funky lighting that never really worked for me. There's a bit of effort put into the extras, including a very nice interview with Ava, but for the most part the movie left me far from impressed and never seemed to give me any reason I should care about it.

Review brief: Way over the top in plot, you will get lost trying to follow it all. You might get annoyed, too, since the dialog and acting seem to take significant time from the sex scenes. But some of those scenes are quite hot, particularly a three-way with Jack Dillon, Rick Bolton (the main character of the flick), and Wes Daniels. And the cast is great eye candy even when the sex is less than scintillating. The directors commentary is a nice addition, too. All in all, a fun flick that could have been hotter. But if you get it as part of the Chi Chi LaRue Collection, Vol. 1 3-disc set, its a bargain.

Letting the scenes play out longer would have helped this flick but it still has many wank-worthy moments. Well worth a look either separately or, for a real bargain, as a part of the Chi Chi LaRue Collection, Vol. 1 3-disc set.

Review brief: Total Corruption 1 is very good; Part 2, less so. But the cast throughout looks just great and many of the scenes sizzle. Its Chi Chi LaRue at her story porn best in which the plot does not overwhelm. Highlights include an opening back alley scene between Danny Russo and Hank Hightower. Muscle studs Zak Spears, Tom Katt, and Scott Randsome make appearances but much of the better scenes are with the other stars. Production values are top notch. In short, its quite literally a lot of bang for the buck. This disc is also available as a part of the Chi Chi LaRues Collection, Vol. 1 3-disc set.

Review brief: A three-disc set of Total Corruption 1 & 2, Body Search, and Hologram (see individual reviews). Although from the early part of Chi Chis career, these HIS DVDs are very well done. Some great stars (Zak Spears, for one) and a quality group of guys in all four features. Both Hologram and Body Search have separate audio programs that feature Directors Commentary, a real plus. The production values are aces above most gay porngreat videography, lighting, and sound. And a lot of the action is just fine. There are misses here and there but with a cumulative running time of well over four hours and 20 sex scenes there are bound to be. In the overpriced world of gay porn, this collection is a true bargain.

If that's your thing this one's going to work well for you, but I just couldn't get into it.

The story does a very good job showing how good minimalism can be for an adult film and manages to build some nice tension. Sadly the sex doesn't keep up with it that well due to the camera work and editing, which just seems a bit off all around. The technical aspects also fall a little short due to a non-anamorphic transfer, and although there is a bit of effort put into the extras it's not enough to really justify this being a two DVD release. Tera and Spyder seem to promise a lot here, but in the end deliver a pretty average release.

It's difficult to understand how such a poor final product could come from the direction of such a stellar performer.

Although the DVD has some of the usual care put into it that I've come to expect from Shot at Home, the movie itself is made for a very small niche. Although Nikki's husband does get into the action a little, the great majority of the movie is focused on female masturbation with a woman who's well past her fiftieth birthday. If that's your thing this one's going to work well for you, but I just couldn't get into it.

Review brief: Tera and Spyder return with their story of a brothel with an Asian slant. The story does a very good job showing how good minimalism can be for an adult film and manages to build some nice tension. Sadly the sex doesn't keep up with it that well due to the camera work and editing, which just seems a bit off all around. The technical aspects also fall a little short due to a non-anamorphic transfer, and although there is a bit of effort put into the extras it's not enough to really justify this being a two DVD release. Tera and Spyder seem to promise a lot here, but in the end deliver a pretty average release.

It's difficult to understand how such a poor final product could come from the direction of such a stellar performer.
