Review brief: Carmens Dirty Secrets is a couples-oriented feature that showcases Carmen Luvana and several other good good-looking stars. But it is, after all, an Adam and Eve production, so dont expect anything other than bland, monotonous sex. Carmen was one of the hottest performers in the jizz biz when she arrived on the scene five years ago. But the half-decade of sucking and fucking is apparently taking its toll on her enthusiasm. Shes in two scenes here and appears to be going through the motions much of the time. Shes still one of the prettiest faces in porn history. But theres nary a smile, snarl, or snicker on that beautiful face as she goes through the paces. Likewise, brunette stunner Taryn Thomas just doesnt seem to be all there as she wrestles with Derrick Pierce and Rusty Nails in the opening scene. Review brief: Head Master 2 is a couples flick from Adam & Eve, so you can be assured of a few things: The sex will be tastefully done, the sets and costumes will be creatively lavish, and the film will basically be boring. There are six vignettes in this one, and only the first one (involving newcomer Austyn Moore and Tommy Gunn) has anything to do with school, so the title is a bit misleading. Hes the teacher, shes the student, and they romp around a classroom before he drops his load on her tummy. The other segments include (in order): Violet Blue and Jazmin double-teaming Niko in a sultans abode; Smokie Flame and Marco Duato getting it on in a park atop a motorcycle, where she takes the films only anal insertion; Austyn (Again? So soon?) and Evan Stone in a barnyard next to (and, for a short time, atop) a horse; Roxanne Hall and Kris Knight as a nun and a priest in a church (which is sure to piss off any religious viewers); and Vanessa Lane and Chris Evans as, respectively, a drill instructor and a soldier in a night-time soiree in a field. Review brief: Flesh Gallery is an artsy couples film with some decent talent and average sex. The whole thing is shot in dark locations, there is no dialogue, and one of the scenes is so chopped up it might as well be on five separate discs. Carmen Luvana and Manuel Ferrara start things off in an art gallery. Theres no opening blowjob, Manuel just plays with her a bit and shoves his cock into her. Then the scene stops Dark-haired Melissa Lauren (I liked her looks better as a blonde) and Chris Charming are next. Theres some anal action here and a money shot on her tits. Review brief: Rawditions is a decent stroke film featuring relatively new girls and good, hard sex. The rookies are interviewed at the beginning of each scene, then jump into action eagerly. What makes this different is that the neophytes sex partner does the interview. So, in the case of leadoff hitter Madeline Marks, shes interviewed by Evan Stone. The sex is, as expected, better than the q&a session. Theres pretty good chemistry here, and Stone drops a load of little Evans on Madelines sweet face to end things. Blonde Samantha Steele and Billy Glide are next. Samantha may not be the cutest girl around, but shes a spitfire in bed and accepts his face splattering with a smile. Director Roy Karch puts in a twist at this point, bringing in a first-timer guy, Jack Frost. Hes a good-looking kid. His partner is older (but well-preserved) Nicki Hunter. Review brief: If youve seen Adam & Eves Pornocopia, youll be familiar with the cast of Florida Girls: Sunny Side Up. Many of the performers are featured in both flicks. Unfortunately, they haven't yet learned how to have hot sex on film. Blond Veronika Raquel and Justin Max start of the show with Veronika in a sex swing. There is a heavy orange hue to the filming. Review brief: Blue Light is a bizarre feature loaded with strange special affects and weird sound affects. This is director Nick Orleans at his most creative. Unfortunately, wacky lighting, sets, and editing arent always conducive to erotic sex, and that is certainly the case here. This is sensory overload to the max. I dare anyone to try to follow the plot, watch the distracting SFX, and maintain an interest in the sex. Theres just too much going on! Forget the plotits inane and difficult to follow. The acting is typical porn, that is, bad. The action, once we get to it, is lukewarm at best. Such a waste of good talent like Haley Paige, Kelly Wells, Lexi Lamour, Dominica Leoni, Hillary Scott, and Brooke Haven! There are eight sex scenes, with four girls taking it up the ass, Haley doing a little A2M, and a smattering of facials. Theres a g/g/b romp and a 4-girl/3-guy orgy. To me, this is another case of a director making a movie for himself, not for his viewers.

Review brief: Not too long ago I reviewed a flick which I dubbed the worst porn movie of all time (or words to that affect). I now have to rate that piece of junk #2. The new leader: Alternative Worldz #1: Atlanta. That this could ever be marketed as porn is an insult to an industry that has few scruples. Aside from one hardcore scene between Tabitha Stern and her hubby Jonathan Stern (the only male in the cast), and four lezouts, there is no sex to speak of (with the exception of the final scene, which gets its own category). The entire movie is nothing more than rigorously tattooed, overly pierced, heavyset, unattractive women painting themselves, poring milk and dripping candle wax on their bodies, and various other unappealing acts. This is the DVD version of the cable show Real Sex. I defy any red-blooded male (above the age of 12) to get a hard-on over the antics of these often obese women. There are inane interviews with each woman and lots of plugs for their websites.

Review brief: "La Fragancia de la Pasion" was released in 1999 by Adam and Eve as "The Fragrance of Passion." This time it is dubbed, I believe, in Italian. Luckily for all English-speaking viewers, there is very little dialogue. Ashton Moore introduces each of the scenes with just a couple short sentences about flowers and romance. Yep, it's a couples flick to the extreme, but a rather well done one if you're into that kind of porn. Nick Orleans directs, which means there will be plenty of slow motion, special effects up the ying-yang, soft music, upscale sets, and well-dressed, beautiful people. The sex is passionate, not a hair-tug or butt spank to be found. There is no anal sex, and only one semi-accidental facial. Condoms abound. There is one standard token lesbian scene (complete with dildo). Among the women, Moore, Alexandra Silk, Temptress, and Jenny McArther look absolutely stunning.

You also wont see many face splatterings (in fact, theres only one), since Wylder is not a fan of facials. The sex action suffers from the peek-a-boo style of camerawork that Wylder seems to love. Most every scene involves some anal intrusions, and no condoms were noticed. I know many reviewers hold Wylder in near demi-god status, but I just cant get impressed with his work. And he seldom coaxes over-the-top performances from the players, content instead to just film people fucking but seemingly not enjoying themselves. In addition, Im a big fan of facials and he seldom employs them. Review brief: Amateur Angels #17 is the latest volume in this long-running series and, if this is any indicator, it should be the last. I know Luc Wylder is highly admired in the industry, but I can do without his boring interviews before each scene. He wastes 6-7 minutes with the performers asking inane, unimaginative questions. He also has a tendency to start talking to the girls just after they get a creamy facial, which some consider the epitome of bad timing. There is also some terrible camerawork here. Shots of the back of a girls head while she sucks cock may be necessary for X-rated distribution (like on the Playboy Channel), but they should be avoided in the XXX-rated version. The same goes for long shots of the guys face and long-distance angles. The girls here are strictly B-Listers, with blond Heaven Taylor being arguably the best-looking one. Nicole Brazzle, Angela Stone, Mone Divine, Diamond Foxx, and Poppy Morgan round out the cast of forgettables. Only Heaven and Mone take facials, and there is no anal action at all.

Review brief: Swinging in the USA will appeal to porn fans who like more than two naked people on their TV at a time. It helps if you also like unattractive naked people. Aside from cute-as-ever Kelly Kline, the rest of the cast in this Luc Wylder production is strictly from the B List. That may seem a bit harsh when referring to Carmen Luvana and Holly Hollywood, who still are semi-appealing, but I just have seen too much of them to find them anything more than mildly attractive. The plot (as such) revolves around Gwenn, an unknown who won some Atlanta competition known as the Miss Swingers Date Club USA. She and her partner, Jay, come to L.A. to get it on with some real pros. What follows in some decent sex action interrupted by countless interviews. Theres lots of talking in this one. With crew members and voyeurs scattered throughout the set as the action takes place, there is little heat in the sex. Youll also probably view more of L.A.s skyline than youd care to see. All these problems could probably be overcome if the main star was the least bit appealing.

Review brief: Seven Year Itch had a chance to be a very good porn flick. Instead, thanks to some overly-ambitious camera angles and poor editing, it ends up being just middle of the road. Director Roy Karch apparently feels he might just win an Oscar if he continues using distracting, unflattering camera shots during the action. Case in point, fiery redhead Pason is giving a great blowjob to Steve Hatcher in the fourth scene. But Karch shoots the action through a beveled window, distracting this viewer completely. Earlier, brunette Felix Vicious is romping heatedly with Jack Spade on a couch. Karch elects to show much of the action through the bottom of a nearby mirrored table. This kind of cinematography adds nothing to the eroticism of the scenes. Theres actually a storyline in this feature, though its quite lame and worthy of FFing. Strangely, Karch chooses to close the show with a lezout (Mika Tan and Katie Morgan), not the usual climatic boy/girl action. That left me less than breathless.

Review brief: Every once in a while I like to sit back and watch a blowjob flick. I find them relaxing, maybe because I know exactly what to expect girls sucking cock and taking facials. Review brief: Vortexxx is a decent couples flick that actually has a plot worth following, a stop-the-presses discovery in Pornland. The storyline has a bunch of friends sneaking into a spooky old house. Is it haunted? Who cares? Theres plenty of good fucking to be had, so they dont let a few creepy noises or ghosts stop them. Felicia Fox and Cheyne Collins leave the others to explore the mansion. They end up in a dark bedroom and screw ending in a tit cumshot. Cytherea and Billy Glyde also find an abandoned room and make the most of it. Cytherea does her trademark squirt job here and takes Billys popshot on her butt. This scene suffers greatly from the use of what I unaffectionately call flowerpot camerawork. In this case, its a candleholder on the table that the director chooses to shoot the action from behind. Very distracting and agitating. Next, Sophie Evans and Randy Spears romp in a shower and, again, much of the action is shot through a decorative shower door, thereby obscuring most of the view. Aaaargh! Somehow, somewhere, Spears got transported back in time to 1931.
