Review brief: With a few minor edits, Barely Legal Innocence #1 could be an X-rated flick fit for hotel rooms instead of a XXX-rated flick for strokers. Call this Porn Lite! In typical Clive McLean style, the cameraman remains about 25 from the sex action, thereby giving us great shots of the surrounding scenery, but not much in the way of close-ups. My major complaint with McLean throughout his illustrious career is that he seems to be so proud of the sets he utilizes that he insists on showing us these panoramic shots instead of in-your-face close-ups. As for the sex, cute blonde Keri Sable starts things off with Nick Manning, who finally looks decent with his new, shorter haircut. This is a great scene, full of heat and enthusiasm. Keri never looked so good. She rides Nick (both CG and RC) like shes on a Disneyland thrill ride and takes a good facial. Very strong opener! Unfortunately, it goes downhill from there. Destine Deville and Roxy Heart double-team Kurt Lockwood next and both seem to counting dollar signs in their heads instead of getting into the fucking.

Review brief: If the Barely Legal series gets any more predictable, it will turn into a dish of vanilla ice cream. This is Volume 50 of the successful series, and some things never change. The production is slick, the formula for the action is banal, and the sex is uninspiring. Luckily, they still employ cute girls still in their prime. Randy Wright seduces her dads business partner, Randy Spears, in the opening vignette. Wright has jet-black hair, two tummy tats, and a shaved beaver. As with many scenes in this series, director Clive McLean tends to cut away from the opening blowjob too fast for my taste. The couple goes through the typical position changes before Wright takes a Spears facial. There is no PCH, another pet peeve of mine about this series. Smokie Flame is a hairdresser who gives more than a scalp massage to customer Sasha. McLean likes to pull his camera back from the action a lot, as if to continually show us the great set he is utilizing for the scene. He does that here often, as if we would forget that the couple is fucking in a salon.

Review brief: The Barely Legal Express just keeps rolling along. In Volume 49, director Clive McLean doesnt stray from the formula thats made this series one of the most successful in porn annals. He employs above average to very cute girls - most with fresh, lithe bodies - having borderline hot sex. Brunette Chrissy Taylor kicks off this edition as a guest on host Steven St. Croixs TV talk show. The setup (as told by the omnipresent voiceover) is inane, but it sets the stage for some decent sex that ends in a facial. Luisa Rosso and Alex Rox tangle in the next scene. Shes got brown hair and a terrific body marred only by an unsightly shoulder tattoo. Alex gives her cute butt a drilling before shooting on her mug. McLean throws in his token lesbian scene next. Review brief: Barely Legal All Stars #2 picks up where Volume #1 left off honoring the best girls of this long-running series. If youve been living in a Tibetan cave the past five years and have never viewed a Barely Legal episode, this will serve as a good primer for you. Basically, Clive McLean directs young, usually attractive girls through some semi-hot sex while notoriously obnoxious voice-overs tell us what is happening. Thats the case with these eight scenes. Review brief: Barely Legal #48 continues in the tradition of one of porns most popular series of all time. It offers young, nubile girls, dumb voice-over setups, parolee-looking guys, and warm to tepid sex. Asian brunette Nautica Thorn meets Kurt Lockwood at a fishing creek. To impress him, she squats and pees, something director Clive McLean likes to incorporate in just about every volume. Not sure why! Soon they are back at the ranch, screwing on a bed. Review brief: Barely Legal #47 is typical of this long-running, popular series. It features fresh, mostly attractive females and decent sex captured awkwardly by director Clive McLeans weird sense of erotica. As usual, each scene opens with a voiceover from a girl describing an implausible sexual experience or fantasy. There is some inane dialogue to set the mood before the action starts. Finally, the sex begins, but McLean often chooses a Playboy Channel-style of shooting that is, lots of angles that show little or nothing of the action with very few close-ups. The music is usually couples friendly. The first vignette offers cute brunette Larissa, whose slender, adorable body is marred by an extremely hairy bush. Larissa, babe, I know youre a Euro, but buy a razor! She romps in bed with Jason Zupalo in a scene that ends with a facial. Underaged brunette Kathleen Kruz tries to talk Benjamin Bratt into giving her a job at his bar. Instead they suck and fuck themselves into a semi-hot frenzy ending in a cumshot across Kathleens face (after an agonizing discussion between the two).

Review brief: Ive criticized Hustlers Barely Legal series recently for showing an incredible lack of imagination. Seemed every scene was being shot outdoors after the girls peed nearby. The girls were getting older and less attractive. And director Clive McLean continued to shoot the action from frustrating angles. I doubt if my reviews gave McLean a change of heart, but at least in Volume #46, hes made a few adjustments. All the scenes take place indoors. The girls, generally speaking, look very sweet and sexy with nice bodies. And most of the action is captured from decent angles. Cute brunette Serena South hooks up with Kurt Lockwood in the first vignette. This guys unsightly tattoos make it hard to concentrate on the action, as does her tailbone ink. Still, they seem to be enjoying themselves as they romp on a couch and end with a Kurt collection on Serenas mug. Metal-mouthed blonde Leah Luv is up next. She tangles with Jay Fox is a decent scene that ends with a torso cumshot. The standard Hustler girl/girl scene is next.

Review brief: Somebody should inform Clive McLean that some people actually have sex in bed, in a house. The director of Barely Legal #43 (and most of the other volumes of this long-running series) seems to have forgotten that its okay for lovers to take the action indoors. There are six scenes in the flick, and ALL of them take place outdoors. (The final romp is called a Bonus Scene for whatever reason.) To me, this is disconcerting and makes it Fast Forward material. I just cant see the eroticism in two people meeting in a pool, or in a field, or in front of a commercial garage, and immediately getting it on. The opening act has Kira Beckam and Lara Lewis, two semi-cute blondes, doing each other on a deck chair near a swimming pool. A dildo appears magically (maybe the pool boy loaned it to them) to make a tedious scene only slightly interesting. Running out of novel locations, McLean pairs blond Sarah Sinn and heavily-tattoed Kurt Lockwood in ta da a swimming pool. Shes cute; hes not.

Review brief: Barely Legal #45 is the latest in a long line of successful Hustler videos from director Clive McLean. With any luck, this will be the end of the line. Who can argue with success? I can. Granted this series has made a ton of money for Hustler, but speaking as a porn fan, I think it has been going downhill for over a year. The series continues to attract young talent, but recently the girls attractiveness has slipped noticeably. For example, red-haired Katja opens things up with a couple parolees inside a biker bar. She looks right at home here with hardened looks and a huge tat on her right shoulder. If she is barely legal, the age of consent in her state must be 25. Review brief: Barely Legal #40 is the usual stiff sexcapade from Clive McLean and Hustler. They girls range from very cute to average in attraction. The guys dont seem very enthused, so who can blame the girls if they react likewise? Average-looking blond Jamie Brooks starts off in an outdoor scene with Mason. Review brief: How in the world has the Barely Legal series reached 43 volumes? If this volume (#42) is any indicator, porn viewers of the world must have become desperate the past few years. Granted, the girls range from attractive to very pretty. But the setups, voiceovers (in the middle of the sex action), and storylines are downright stupid. The sex could be shot much better (too many long-distance, back-of-the-head, and guys mug shots). I know they sell these things in hotel rooms in X, not XXX, form. But give the home viewers the XXX version, will you please? And can you take the action indoors a bit more often? Carrot-topped Emily Davinci takes on Nick Manning in the first scene.
