Firestorm review summaries:

Hired to ghost-write a book by a wealthy socialite (Kay Parker), Eric Edwards encounters--and takes advantage of--a world in which just about everyone is corrupt. From Parker''s and her husband''s (John Leslie''s) cheating ways to an au pair with sticky fingers (Rikki Harte) to Edwards'' quasi-girlfriend/stripper (Tina Marie), everybody seems to have an angle. The only innocent one? Parker''s and Leslie''s blind daughter (Joanna Storm)...who''s naively looking for love. So goes "Firestorm", an exceptional 1984 release from director Cecil Howard and Command Video. [read the full review]

Spitfire review summaries:

From its catchy opening score, cleverly-cut credits, and nostalgic shots of old-school New York City, it''s clear that the audience is in for a fun and sexy treat with "Spitfire", an exceptional 1984 release from director Cecil Howard and Command Video. Reproduced beautifully at Hotmovies.com, this production is in many ways pornographic poetry in motion from start to finish. Exquisitely captured and edited, this film is centered around a corrupt professor-turned-politician (R. Bolla) whose "chastity belt" agenda has caught on nationally and is bringing in millions. Of course, he''s actually a perv and a fraud, his daughter (Tigr) is an insatiable nymphomaniac, and his wife (Samantha Fox) is a gold digger in every sense of the word. Needless to say, the storyline is intricate, well-crafted and comical, the acting is superb throughout, and the end result is a true Golden Age classic that should not be missed. Suburban Dykes is a really fun queer short film from Debi Sundahl. The movie never really goes anywhere. Still, the journey to nowhere is a whole lot of fun with great performances from adult film industry legends Sharon Mitchell and Nina Hartley, along with Peppar, who this reviewer is surprised never became a more prominent name given her talent. Debi Sundahl has managed to cram so many different sex scenes and fetishes into the movie that it is hard to believe it is only a half-hour long. Suburban Dykes is genuinely a fun, guilty pleasure. Fatale Media has done a good job with the picture quality of their streaming-only edition of Suburban Dykes on PinkLabel.TV, but the sound leaves something to be desired. [read the full review]

Scoundrels review summaries:
fu_q's
Living a superficial, upper-middle class life with his mundane, flimsy facade of a family, a mediocre psychiatrist (Ron Jeremy) finds himself stuck with an unfaithful wife (Lisa B.), who's cheating upon him with his best friend (George Payne) and also their daughter's quasi-boyfriend (Sean Eilliott). Thrown into the mix is said budding, but "invisible" daughter (Tigr), who's covertly exploring her own sexuality in all manner of bizarre and dangerous ways. Of course, for his part, Ron is cheating with a slew of prostitutes and his clingy secretary (Copper Penny), who happens to also be banging Payne, as well. On top of it all, Ron finds himself harassed throughout the film (during cut-scenes) by a large, talking white light, the identity of which is fairly easy to figure out, though it isn't formally revealed until the end of the flick. Such is the case in "Scoundrels", a very good, 1982 release from Command Video and acclaimed director, Cecil Howard. [read the full review]

Scoundrels is an excellent feature adult film from the golden age of adult films. The film was crafted with care and it shows in the end results. Scoundrels is a rather dark drama that uses hardcore sex along with the non-sexual portions to tell a story, instead of just having a story that exists to have sex scenes. Scoundrels is a must see for fans of feature-style adult films. Command Video has done an amazing job with their limited collector's edition Blu-ray and DVD combination package for Scoundrels with stellar image and audio quality and a wealth of extras. Rick L. Blalock's
Writer/Director Kemal Horulu's 1983 drama-thriller, NEVER SLEEP ALONE, begins with an ominous tone right out of the gate. This as the camera captures a scene outside of a court building, where all we can hear are the ongoing proceedings of a trial. It is then that the film takes us back in time to chronicle the life of Lisa Alexander"(Tina Marie) and her husband "Dan Alexander"(John Leslie). Lisa and Dan, maintain an unconventional lifestyle. They are swingers, and often go to parties thrown by their neighbor "Diana"(Honey Wilder) at a local club called "Plato's Retreat", where basically anything goes, when it comes to sex. Both Lisa and Dan are very open in their relationship and are allowed to have relations with others, however, they have but one rule. They are not to sleep with each other's friends. This is something that they have been able to manage. However, soon, things get complicated, when Dan begins to have eyes for Diana's new roommate, "Natalie"(Joanna Storm). [read the full review]

"Living Doll" -- It's like a pornographic version of the mainstream hit, "Toy Story", but it came out eight years earlier. Indeed, this fine, 1987 film from director Jerome Tanner and Western Visuals features a toy store populated by toys that are far more than simply playthings--they're living, breathing beings. I've watched a fair number of "classics" and most of them suck. This one's actually pretty good. It attempts to be a little better than the average porno without turning into a pretentous piece of shit. The original film was quality and the DVD transfer is done well. Best of all you get some stars when they were young and smoking, like Sharon Mitchell and Joanna Storm. I don't know why I've never heard of this one beforeif you like films from that era (about 1983), it's definitely worth a look. [read the full review]

fu_q's
Surrounded by the dirt and grime of 1970's New York City, a pervy, imbalanced porn shop creeper and window peeper, Jamie Gillis, finds himself pushed over the edge when he witnesses both an erotic enema at a local brothel and also the object of his obsession having sex with another man. Convinced that he can "cure" women of their perceived "impure behavior" via an enema (whether they like it or not), he goes on a spree that ultimately has him becoming a notorious and deranged rapist. Whether he'll be caught or whether he'll continue to terrorize the city's female population remains to be seen. Such is the case in "Water Power", a very good, 1976 release from Global Media International Films. [read the full review]

Waterpower is a bizarre film to come from Shaun Costello that has an even more bizarre release history. The TLA Entertainment Exclusive DVD contains two versions of the film on the disc. One called the original version and one called the director's cut. Neither is, to the best of my knowledge either the original version or the director's cut. The video quality is very good on the original version and varies from very good to poor in the director's cut. As of now, The Historic Erotica version appears to be the best release of Waterpower to have come out as of yet, but hopefully someday a definitive version will get released. [read the full review]

It's all about naughty nookie and horny hijinks when two young ladies, Sharon Mitchell and Susaye London, decide that they need a break from the city and opt to rent a party home out in the 'burbs. Of course, the two nubiles always find themselves short of cash, as women of their age are wont to do, and they soon discover that the best form of payment for just about anything (...including the rental...) is ass. Fortunately for all involved, this suits the girls just fine, and they happily make good on their payments. Such is the case in "French Teen", an overall-good, 1977 release from Cal Vista and director John Christopher. [read the full review]

Suzie Superstar (Cal Vista) review summaries:
Rick L. Blalock's
Shauna Grant's tragically short career was marked by several legendary films, most notably Suzie Superstar in which she plays a sexy rock singer at the top of the charts. Her overbearing manager played by John Leslie sparks an adventure filled with sex, betrayal, money, and love. With incredible appearances by Ron Jeremy, Joey Silvera, and Sharon Mitchell, Suzie Superstar remains one of the greatest classic features of all time, not just for its superior film making and gorgeous sex scenes, but also for its story, acting, and je ne sais quoi. This is classic XXX at its very best. [read the full review]

Friday the 13th Part 2: The Next Generation review summaries:
fu_q's
80's porn queen Barbii gets quite the 21st birthday surprise when she's transported to Hell and ends up with her long-lost twin brother, "Jason" (played by Tom Byron), in "Friday the 13th, Part Two". An overall-good porn flick of yesteryear from F. J. Lincoln and Caballero, this release finds the young starlet transformed from an innocent goody-two-shoes into (more or less) a diabolical harlot by the film's end, all under her brother's watchful tutelage. Not taking itself too seriously, the plot is fun and the sex scenes--though short--are fairly hot. With both Barbii and Tom as demons who are bent on causing trouble for humanity, there's enough of a storyline to hold this one together well...and things do get a little kinky at the end. For fans of porno nostalgia...and fans of Barbii...this one is worthy. [read the full review]

Eye Of the Tigress review summaries:
fu_q's
A mystical sexual relic has been pilfered from a Chinese temple, and a sexy stripper (Barbii) is its unwitting carrier in "Eye of the Tigress", an excellent late-80s production from Caballero and director Bruce Seven. Indeed, fellow dancers John Stagliano and Sharon Mitchell have conspired to plant the stolen artifact--the Eye--on Barbii so as to evade any pursuers. Upon returning home from China, the real trick for them is to get it back from her, with Stagliano having given it as a "cheap" gift. Of course, those in China responsible for its safe return also get in on the act, hiring a goofy detective (Mike Horner) to hunt it down. As they all find out firsthand, the Eye has an eerie ability to temporarily transport its holders (and those around them) to their fantasies, bringing them to life. What ultimately ensues is a fun, sexy, and fast-paced fuck-flick that's both strong on the plot and steamy on the sex...another fine, forgotten gem from Bruce Seven and Barbii. [read the full review]

Wacky World Of X-Rated Bloopers review summaries:
fu_q's
"Wacky World of X-Rated Bloopers", an overall-decent, 1989 release from Gourmet Video and narrated by Kimberly Carson, is exactly as its name would imply--a collection of bloopers and behind the scenes material from a number of 1980's releases. Funny moments, true missteps, wood issues, and micromanaging directors are all highlighted. A number of stars from the era make appearances, some more so than others, and the release does provide a nice look at life on a porn set from a time period when BTS material really wasn't mass-produced and readily available. While it's not so much a production to get off to, it's certainly interesting and reasonably worth a watch. [read the full review]
