Review brief: Description This is a collector's edition release of the 1996 Jenna Jameson movie Conquest. I didn't see the original version, but this one has added extra features. General Impression It's fun to watch, the sort of swashbuckling pirate adventure that they used to show on Saturdays at the elementary school auditorium when I was a kid. Well, not quite! This one has less plot and more sex. They spent a lot of money on this movie, and it shows. But they weren't too careful about historical accuracy. That's okay, though. Part of the fun of the movie is giggling over the I Dream of Jeannie hair and fake eyelashes, the shaved pussies, the shiny hair scrunchy, the thong tan lines, and so forth. The plot is going to lose you a bit at first -- not because it is complicated, but because quite a bit of the dialogue is mumbled or at low volume, and the characters speak of several people without any explanation of who they are talking about.

Given a choice between not doing a review at all and just giving a brief sketch of the movie, I opted for the latter. I don't know a fair way to set the value for the movie. Gay movies are priced too high, so I plan to always list the value as $25.00. General Impression Shot on location in Tuscany, this movie has a strong emphasis on aesthetics - beautiful settings, beautiful music, and good-looking men. The rather sweet music is a good fit for the tempo and spirit of the scenes, and was not generally too loud -- the natural sounds were still clear. The characters are mostly 'farmboys' who have very nice haircuts and are sauna-scrubbed and squeaky clean under those shirtless overalls. I almost want to call this one The eye-contact movie, as they seem to have had a lot of fun with that, as well. The plot, such as it is, involves an interloper who visits a small village and witnesses or joins a few sexual encounters.

It also has three other scenes that arent particularly one or the other, but which arent any worse than average, either. So director Bud Lee hits .400 with this one, and thatll keep him in the majors. If you care, Free Ride is a ghost story about a woman blamed for defiling a rich familys son and forever afterward cursed to walk the same stretch of road until she should witness true love. Or something like that. It even makes a certain amount of sense up until that lesbian scene, when for some inexplicable but wonderful reason Asia Carrera, the ghost, suddenly turns into Mia Smiles. In any case, it all gets started when Randy Spears and Shaena Steele meet pretty Asia on a lonely backcountry road. The first scene, the fun one, is Asias explanation of how the curse came about. Steve Hatcher is the beloved son; Asia is the star.

Review brief: I had decent expectations of this movie following a good review of the first film in the series, but mainly because of the picture of the delectable Brianna Blaze on the box cover. The title is supposedly an indication of how these fresh faced young girls take on big cocks, but this is really the pretence for most gonzo movies and so there is little different to be found here. The opening vignette sees oh so cute Brianna, jiggling for the camera in white underwear and black high heels. Brianna just has that certain something, perhaps its those smouldering eyes or maybe that irresistible girl next door look, and those perfect breasts of course. A beautiful sight, and a great way to begin the movie. We then cut to the opening scene where we see her wearing a strapless top and denim skirt, viewing a house with owner, Brett Rockman.

Review brief: Wet Young Bitches: Private Xtreme #9 Directed by Gianfranco Romagnoli Initial expectations: Since Pierre Woodman left for Hustler Video, Private has seemed to have lost its hardcore edge. For example, when watching the DVD "Sex Shot," I compared those scenes of Laura Angel directed by Antonio Adamo with Lauras extra scene shot by Frank Thring. The latter contained the raw and unscripted sex that was unfortunately lacking in the former. (I admit that Laura was prettier and younger in Thrings work). Having preferred Privates earlier smut, I havent given their new stuff much of a chance. However, having been one of my favorite producers of porn over the years, I decided to give them another try: I picked up a copy of "Private Xtreme #9, Wet Young Bitches." It had come recommended to me, and after viewing the film, I found myself pleasantly surprised. The sex, although sometimes still too choreographed for my taste, appeared spontaneous and dirty, peppered with a lot of nasty sex acts. Spitting and both boy-to-girl and girl-to-boy rimming were commonplace.

Review brief: I really enjoyed the first one in this series as Erik really put a lot of effort into it and the results spoke for themselves. The intensity was way up and the girls were just beautiful to look at so I'm expecting more of the same with this second installment. I see several of my Euro favs among the cast so my feelings are really lifting along with something else! Jane Darling, Krystal DeBoor, Lucy Lee, Jessica Fiorentino, Karma, Sandra Romain, and Stacy Silver: The festivities get off to a slow start but it's understandable as the camera takes in the long slender legs belonging to the Czech beauty Jane Darling. Review brief: Sometimes listed just as FRESHMAN BALL GAMES, the full title of this little opus is BORN IN AMERICA FRESHMAN BALL GAMES. It is a product of Real to Reel Pictures which started out making VHS films eons ago. Indeed in the Previews section these oldies are still being offered along with their newer DVD line. Then, as now, the emphasis is on younger guys. In FRESHMAN BALL GAMES, I doubt if any of the performers has reached the ripe old age of 20. Emphasis is placed on the fact that these kids are all homegrown. Each is introduced with his picture before his scene and the state from which he hails is given along with his nom de porn: Ty Kang, Illinois. Review brief: Wet Young Bitches: Private Xtreme #9 Directed by Gianfranco Romagnoli Initial expectations: Since Pierre Woodman left for Hustler Video, Private has seemed to have lost its hardcore edge. For example, when watching the DVD "Sex Shot," I compared those scenes of Laura Angel directed by Antonio Adamo with Lauras extra scene shot by Frank Thring. The latter contained the raw and unscripted sex that was unfortunately lacking in the former. (I admit that Laura was prettier and younger in Thrings work). Having preferred Privates earlier smut, I havent given their new stuff much of a chance. However, having been one of my favorite producers of porn over the years, I decided to give them another try: I picked up a copy of "Private Xtreme #9, Wet Young Bitches." It had come recommended to me, and after viewing the film, I found myself pleasantly surprised. The sex, although sometimes still too choreographed for my taste, appeared spontaneous and dirty, peppered with a lot of nasty sex acts. Spitting and both boy-to-girl and girl-to-boy rimming were commonplace.

Review brief: I really enjoyed the first one in this series as Erik really put a lot of effort into it and the results spoke for themselves. The intensity was way up and the girls were just beautiful to look at so I'm expecting more of the same with this second installment. I see several of my Euro favs among the cast so my feelings are really lifting along with something else! Jane Darling, Krystal DeBoor, Lucy Lee, Jessica Fiorentino, Karma, Sandra Romain, and Stacy Silver: The festivities get off to a slow start but it's understandable as the camera takes in the long slender legs belonging to the Czech beauty Jane Darling. Erik has a little conversation with this beautiful woman while letting the camera glide all about her gorgeous frame. Jane tells Erik she has a surprise for him so EE follows Jane inside. Once there Jane offers a great shot of her breathtaking breasts and her ass as well. The breast caressing was something I dug especially from the floor view.

Review brief: Studio: Blue Pictures/Caballero Running Time: 83 minutes. Review: I got this specifically because it was one of the 2003 nominees for best bisexual picture. This is in Portuguese, most likely filmed in Brazil. Background music plays through the scenes. It starts with a transsexual phone sex ad, then goes right to the movie. There is no attempt at cast ID, nor is the crew or director credited. Scene 1: male/female/female A couple make out on a couch and the maid brings them a drink. She sneaks back into the room to spy on them from a corner and masturbate. They undress with a lots of kissing and nipple licking for both of them. Review brief: Sometimes listed just as FRESHMAN BALL GAMES, the full title of this little opus is BORN IN AMERICA FRESHMAN BALL GAMES. It is a product of Real to Reel Pictures which started out making VHS films eons ago. Indeed in the Previews section these oldies are still being offered along with their newer DVD line. Then, as now, the emphasis is on younger guys. In FRESHMAN BALL GAMES, I doubt if any of the performers has reached the ripe old age of 20. Emphasis is placed on the fact that these kids are all homegrown. Each is introduced with his picture before his scene and the state from which he hails is given along with his nom de porn: Ty Kang, Illinois. I guess this is to show that Czechoslovakia doesnt have the monopoly on cute twinks. There are 5 scenes and each is introduced with a silly title. Only two or three lines of dialogue set up the action. For example: A blond twink is lying on the bed clad only in white briefs. Enter a slim brunet. Guy in underwear: Were you able to sign up for all of your classes? Slim kid: Yes.

Review brief: Long before there was VHSand seemingly eons before there were DVDsan enterprising studio calling itself Colt produced a series of one-reel films for gay viewers, sending thousands out to buy film projectors. The hallmark of this studio was to feature incredibly gorgeous ultra masculine men having sex together. It totally shattered the popular concession that gays were all wispy effeminates who lisped and had limp wrists. For those other than gays, it was jaw-dropping. For those who were gay, it was dick-lifting. Probablyfor fear of censorshipthe films were not overly explicit. Much of the sex was photographed the way our soft-core productions were filmed today. One knew they were sucking cock but one didnt always see it. Occasionally there was a brief glimpse to confirm ones suspicions that the dick was actually being sucked, but for the most part the action was masked or else dicks were simply kissed, lightly licked, stroked, and otherwise worshiped. And although these hunks were probably fucking, one never ever saw a dick going into an asshole.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting straightforward sex with a slightly artistic eye Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting girls who look barely legal The Technical Stuff Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a bit different for Digital Sins releases. The audio is clear and well balanced, but at times almost seemed a little soft. The video is very artistic. The light varies quite a bit through the movie, and natural light is used as often as possible which bleaches out some of the colors.
