The audio is clear and well balanced between the performers, but the music often interferes with the audio. The video is presented in the full frame format. It has a touch of grain now and then, and the lighting also varies a bit. P> Music: The music often has a harder edge that doesn't feel too porno-like. Sadly it's also frequently way too loud and interferes with the action more than it helps it.

Review brief: Asian Brotha Lovers 3 Prologue There are some yummy women in this video, including Yumi herself, but certainly not confined to her. Review brief: Welcome fans to a real easy review to write or type I should more accurately say. Gianna is one of those rare performers that comes along and it's really cool Jonni Darkko was able to shoot this dvd with the buxom beauty. I'll state right off that there is no anal sex at all with Gianna and I didn't miss it one bit. Would it have been awesome to see her do it, sure, but it's not essential to enjoying the scenes shot. As you might guess Gianna is in each and every scene and you'll see plenty of boob worship given to those tata's. Perusing the scenes I was impressed by the picture quality and the main menu with Gianna featured so prominently and doing just a little movement was one of the better menu's I've seen in awhile.

The audio is clear and well balanced, and I don't think I noticed a single background noise. The video is very well presented in anamorphic widescreen. It's all very well lit with a varying amount of grain. The entire movie is shot on film, with the sex portion having a grainier guerrilla feel to it with a touch of motion while the interview is more polished and smooth.

Review brief: I'm a huge fan of the Robert Rodriguez helmed 'Sin City' movie and was eager to see Private's spin on it. They actually follow the Hollywood version pretty closely, just adding in sex scenes whenever they can. This means that the sex isn't interspersed into the plot in the most seamless fashion-- that's o.k. I can handle that. What I can't handle is the poor voice acting (I only listened to the English dub-- perhaps the other languages are done better.) Private goes all out with the production values, even mimicking the colorless/color special effects of the Hollywood variant. I just wish they could have spent more money to hire some better voice actors. Between the dumbed-down dialogue and the flat delivery in the voice work, this really is a C-rate copycat of Rodriguez's work. But whatever, the sex is what most porn fans are interested in. It's pretty good and there is a hefty amount of it too. Also, these sex scenes aren't your typical fuck flick stuff because they're dominated by black and white with a smattering of color here and there.

Review brief: Peter Balakoff (aka Ted Roter) was one of many former exploitation film directors turned hardcore film directors to make ends meat. Some did well while others floundered. Roter is somewhere in the middle. Although his films are frequently poorly shot and feature less than pleasing production values, he makes up for these minor faults through his surprisingly smart scripts and above average acting from his cast of relative unknowns. Here we have two of his least seen films, Hollywood She-Wolves and Paul, Lisa, And Caroline. Although She Wolves is nothing more than a run of the mill porn, PLC is a surprisingly insightful look at a menage-a-trois lifestyle. Roter's stock actress Gena Lee is Caroline, just married to Paul (played handsomely by director Roter) who decide to engage in swinging with Paul's sometimes fling Lisa. Roter creates strong, realistic characters with real problems which are handled with maturity and class. Gena Lee gives another wonderful performance proving that she certainly was one of the finest thespians in the whole of the industry during the late 70s.

Review brief: This will be the first of my reviews of the "Cult 70s Porno Directors" series from ABA. This collection of three films by true schlock filmmaker Ray Dennis Steckler is a truly awful grouping of terrible films. They're pretty much all the same film in that none of them has a plot and for some reason all involve roller skates. Go figure. Steckler, who also made horror themed porn under the moniker Sven Christian, was never looked at as even a good director outside of the hardcore industry and thus the reduction of his already miniscule budgets and the inclusion of hardcore sex into his films makes them even more tedious as entertainment. I suppose the sex scenes could be described as "erotic" but that would have to be from a very jaded perspective. There is a lot of sex though if that makes this package any more enticing. Overall the films are of OK AV quality. All from VHS tapes with Indian Lady faring best, but all being watchable enough to be able to make out the "action." All also appear to be uncut (though I couldn't image such crap being cut anyway).

Review brief: Alex DeRenzy produced more than a few good films during the 1970s but he also produced more than a few awful ones. This one falls into the second category. Simply a dumb way to make money off a gimmick. Long Jeanne Silver was a New York runaway who made her acting debut in Shaun Costello's Waterpower in 1976. She then came to San Francisco landing on The Mitchell Brother's doorstep. The Mitchells picked her up and put her in live sex shows. Soon washed up, DeRenzy decided to use her in one of his hardcore quickies and shot a standard vignette film with her peculiarity as the centerpiece. Now for those of you who don't know where Long Jeanne got her name, well...She doesn't have one of her legs (yes, you read that right) and uses the stump the same way gay boys use their arms! Review brief: Tis a shame that great film like this are treated like dirt by the companies that release them. Gerard Damiano's powerful and majestically shot masterpiece inspired by the great French Novel "The Story Of O" is one of the finest hardcore films EVER made by one of the genre's finest directors. Jamie Gillis is Jason, a wealthy socialite who discovers he is dying of a rare (although unnamed) desease. He thus "adopts" a young woman, Joanna (Teri Hall) to keep him company during his final days. She however is unaware of his ailments. Their relationship quickly turns from one of short term lovers to a violent bondage filled endurance test for poor Joanna who is tormented in just about every way possible. Slowly, as their profane relationship continues to develop, Jason becomes weaker and weaker due to his mysterious ailment while Joanna grows stronger and stronger through her torments... Damiano's great strengths as a director are present in every aspect of this masterpiece.

Review brief: Way back in 2001, Barcelona Bound was nominated for GAYVN Awards for Best Foreign Release and Best Sex Scene (between Rafael Carreras and Lucas Foz) I cant suggest strongly enough that you buy Barcelona Bound on DVD and see for yourself why it was robbed of both awards. This has some of the most passionate sex ever captured on DVD. The movie is structured around a backpacking trip through the Spanish city of Barcelona with two young lovers, Carreras and Foz. It was shot on location in Barcelona and captures a bit of the city, and bit of the countryside and a lot of the sex. Barcelona Bound has the perfect mix of plot and action. And the minimal dialog is all in Spanish (with English subtitles) spoken by a really masculine cast of men.

Review brief: I'm a huge fan of the Robert Rodriguez helmed 'Sin City' movie and was eager to see Private's spin on it. They actually follow the Hollywood version pretty closely, just adding in sex scenes whenever they can. This means that the sex isn't interspersed into the plot in the most seamless fashion-- that's o.k. I can handle that. What I can't handle is the poor voice acting (I only listened to the English dub-- perhaps the other languages are done better.) Private goes all out with the production values, even mimicking the colorless/color special effects of the Hollywood variant. I just wish they could have spent more money to hire some better voice actors. Between the dumbed-down dialogue and the flat delivery in the voice work, this really is a C-rate copycat of Rodriguez's work. But whatever, the sex is what most porn fans are interested in. It's pretty good and there is a hefty amount of it too. Also, these sex scenes aren't your typical fuck flick stuff because they're dominated by black and white with a smattering of color here and there.

Review brief: Peter Balakoff (aka Ted Roter) was one of many former exploitation film directors turned hardcore film directors to make ends meat. Some did well while others floundered. Roter is somewhere in the middle. Although his films are frequently poorly shot and feature less than pleasing production values, he makes up for these minor faults through his surprisingly smart scripts and above average acting from his cast of relative unknowns. Here we have two of his least seen films, Hollywood She-Wolves and Paul, Lisa, And Caroline. Although She Wolves is nothing more than a run of the mill porn, PLC is a surprisingly insightful look at a menage-a-trois lifestyle. Roter's stock actress Gena Lee is Caroline, just married to Paul (played handsomely by director Roter) who decide to engage in swinging with Paul's sometimes fling Lisa. Roter creates strong, realistic characters with real problems which are handled with maturity and class. Gena Lee gives another wonderful performance proving that she certainly was one of the finest thespians in the whole of the industry during the late 70s.

Review brief: This will be the first of my reviews of the "Cult 70s Porno Directors" series from ABA. This collection of three films by true schlock filmmaker Ray Dennis Steckler is a truly awful grouping of terrible films. They're pretty much all the same film in that none of them has a plot and for some reason all involve roller skates. Go figure. Steckler, who also made horror themed porn under the moniker Sven Christian, was never looked at as even a good director outside of the hardcore industry and thus the reduction of his already miniscule budgets and the inclusion of hardcore sex into his films makes them even more tedious as entertainment. I suppose the sex scenes could be described as "erotic" but that would have to be from a very jaded perspective. There is a lot of sex though if that makes this package any more enticing. Overall the films are of OK AV quality. All from VHS tapes with Indian Lady faring best, but all being watchable enough to be able to make out the "action." All also appear to be uncut (though I couldn't image such crap being cut anyway).

Review brief: Alex DeRenzy produced more than a few good films during the 1970s but he also produced more than a few awful ones. This one falls into the second category. Simply a dumb way to make money off a gimmick. Long Jeanne Silver was a New York runaway who made her acting debut in Shaun Costello's Waterpower in 1976. She then came to San Francisco landing on The Mitchell Brother's doorstep. The Mitchells picked her up and put her in live sex shows. Soon washed up, DeRenzy decided to use her in one of his hardcore quickies and shot a standard vignette film with her peculiarity as the centerpiece. Now for those of you who don't know where Long Jeanne got her name, well...She doesn't have one of her legs (yes, you read that right) and uses the stump the same way gay boys use their arms! Gerard Damiano's powerful and majestically shot masterpiece inspired by the great French Novel "The Story Of O" is one of the finest hardcore films EVER made by one of the genre's finest directors. Jamie Gillis is Jason, a wealthy socialite who discovers he is dying of a rare (although unnamed) desease. He thus "adopts" a young woman, Joanna (Teri Hall) to keep him company during his final days. She however is unaware of his ailments. Their relationship quickly turns from one of short term lovers to a violent bondage filled endurance test for poor Joanna who is tormented in just about every way possible. Slowly, as their profane relationship continues to develop, Jason becomes weaker and weaker due to his mysterious ailment while Joanna grows stronger and stronger through her torments... Damiano's great strengths as a director are present in every aspect of this masterpiece.
