Although this lets the setups be a bit varied, the scenes all go with a rigid formula that's more than noticeable by the end of the second scene and keeps up to the point that my eyes glazed over watching Jenna Haze get it on with Haley Paige. There's some good chemistry in the scenes, but the rigid sexual formula will probably hold the movie back for anybody who watches more than one scene at a time. The technical aspects are also pretty average and there's no real effort put into the extras. "Lost Angels: Wanda Curtis" is an excellent example of Michael Ninn's work, highlighting both his strengths and his weaknesses. Ninn's strengths lie in his understanding of lighting, his eye for settings and his ability to frame the best shots. It has the burden of some relatively high expectations considering the success of "Perfect". "Acid Dreams" is not perfect if you'll excuse the pun. It has some very strong scenes, but is a very uneven film. I'm generally a huge Ninn fan as well usually impressed with so called "artsy porn". Unfortunately Ninn lost me with his constantly skewed yellow color pallet and effects that failed to compliment the sexual action. This disc does manage to produce a few quality scenes and a great find in Mercedes. Plot "San Fransisco 1965 and the CIA is using brain bending techniques to test the psychosexual extremes of their subjects. Mind control is the name of the game, and mind blowing chicks are the bait. Fashion is the second Private/Penthouse DVD release. The first being Call Girl. Both are truely excellent films. Antonio Adamo did a brilliant job of directing. And the women are so beautiful that my whole body aches when I look at them. Before I get down to the scenes, some general comments about the movie. Yes, it does have some kind of plot, but I don't know what it is - something about a fashion designer going out on her own and overcoming obstacles. (I guess this makes me a raincoater) ;) The women are constantly looking at the camera. I find this very hot! But other people have wrote that they did not like this. The sex in Adamo's film is carefully planned and somewhat subdued. There is no hot sweaty fucking with wild abandon going on this this film. Everybody seems to know exactly what positions they should be in and where they should look. Again, some people may find this a turn off, but I don't mind. As in all (at least all the Private films I have), the audio is dubbed over. [read the full review]
