Rather than rehashing and commenting on Acid Dreams in detail, I'll point you to Gabriel Nine's eloquent and informative review.  To be honest with you, I really don't feel like spending a lot of time reviewing movies that are just so-so or not worth buying.  Not only is there a lot of porn out there that does deserve to be reviewed, it's draining for me to write a decent review and Acid Dreams isn't worth going all out for.  It's disappointing for me to say that considering I usually enjoy Michael Ninn's projects.

Why don't I like it?  Well, aside from the artsy, non-sex opening with Nikita Denise and Tyce Bune in the flood control canal, a great oral scene with Michelle Michaels, and a DP with Nikita at the end, there's not much about Acid Dreams that I like.  The first scene, a boy-girl starring Nikita, is a washed-out, orange/yellow-tinted, soft-focus mess without any sexual heat.  Shay Sights just flat out scares me with her bolt-on boobs and a face that would fit better in a vampire horror flick--let's just say that she achieves what Herschel Savage needed facial prosthetics to accomplish for his role in Ninn's Forever Night.  And Tyce is over the hill by anyone's standards, Viagra or not.

The only shining star in the whole thing is blonde Michelle Michaels, who gives a great blowjob in her stairway encounter.  If the other scenes had even a drop of the chemistry in this one, Acid Dreams would be a must-have.  In addition to the top-notch hummer she gives Tyce, she also receives a good tongue-lashing before riding his prick.  I can see from this performance alone why Michelle has become one of the top girls in the Ninn Works portfolio.

However, quite simply, I'm pretty disappointed with Acid Dreams as a whole.  I don't know whether it's the pressure to deliver movies on a regular basis for Private or whether Ninn is simply running out of ideas, but this effort is really sub-par.  It has a lot of the trademarks of Ninn's work--the weird, the artsy, and the beautiful, but it's also very fragmented.  Perhaps that's the idea, but even if it is, with only one strong sex scene in almost two and a quarter hours, I can't really recommend Acid Dreams to anyone.  The story is a somewhat interesting premise, but then again, we don't really watch porn for the story, at least not as the primary reason.  Maybe if you're a die-hard Ninn fan, or if you like Nikita Denise or Michelle Michaels a lot, you might want to rent this.  Otherwise, you're much better off picking up just about any of Michael Ninn's other movies.
