Dracula Sucks (Vinegar Syndrome) review summaries:

"Dracula Sucks"...and so does the movie. Despite featuring a veritable Who's Who of the Golden Age of adult films (with the likes of Annette Haven, Seka, Serena, Kay Parker, Jamie Gillis, Paul Thomas, John Leslie, etc. onboard), this film still manages to fall flatter than piss on a plate in just about every conceivable manner. Dracula Sucks is an odd, high budget, and very fun adult film, which could have only come out of the 1970s adult film industry. While constantly trying to straddle the line of mainstream comedy and adult horror, and never 100 percent succeeding at any of these tasks, the end result is a unique experience that has a lot to offer viewers looking for more than just copulation. The print isn't perfect, but is better than any release prior. [read the full review]

Best Of John Holmes 1, The (VCA) review summaries:

The Best of John Holmes Volume 1 is an obviously quickly put together compilation consisting of some random scenes featuring John Holmes. VCA hasn't put much care into this compilation with uneven video and audio quality throughout the presentation and a very short run time. There is no big incentive to add this release to your collection. [read the full review]

Beyond Desire review summaries:
Tongue in Groove's
Beyond Desire is a typical couples film from the 1980s (1983 to be specific) in that the feature relies heavily on dialogue and plot and only offers short snippets of sex (4-5 minutes each). There is bad acting throughout, with the notable exception of John Leslie, who plays a private investigator staying in a whorehouse (dont ask why; its too stupid to explain) and doing just about all the hookers in the place. There are some huge names in this feature, including Gina Carrera, Nina Hartley, Seka, and Vanessa del Rio, who, unfortunately, gets only one short sex scene towards the end of the 83 minutes. Nina is almost unrecognizable in a black wig. Little Oral Annie makes a brief appearance sucking off a couple guys. Kristara Barrington graces the first scene and takes a nice facial one of only three in the nine-scene flick. Patti Petit has the only anal action. The DVD offers the following extras: Photo Gallery, Other Titles, Cast, Contact and Website info, and a Language (English and Spanish only) Option. [read the full review]

Ultra Flesh review summaries:
fu_q's
The world is in crisis as the evil space demon, "Sugar Man" (Jamie Gillis), posing as an "innocent" South American dictator, spreads impotence across the planet via his country's tainted sugar. With his plans to exterminate the human race (and thereby clear the planet for his own kind) in full force, the super powers of the world find themselves desperately at one another's throats...and it turns out that only the stunningly beautiful blonde super-alien, "Ultra Flesh" (Seka), and her "Fleshettes" can save them...and the world. Such is the case in the aptly titled "Ultra Flesh", a very good, 1980 release from Svetlana and Collector's Video (as distributed by VCX). [read the full review]

On White Satin review summaries:
ExperimentalGuy's
On White Satin Directed by The Lewis Brothers Running time (approx): 68mins After long last I finally tracked down this forgotten classic. Although not as widely known as other films from the golden age of porn such as Insatiable, The Devil In Miss Jones or Deep throat, this one remains special for me as it was one of those porn films I had seen on an old frequently copied VHS years ago, and when I heard it was available on DVD, nostalgia kicked in. The plot, if you can call it that is very basic, following the story of various people in or around a secluded holiday cabin location who are inspired into various carnal activities when exposed to white satin sheets. I remember the version I originally watched was called Satin Sheets, and as you can probably imagine, for a guy of sixteen or so, it was like Id discovered the lost treasure of the Aztecs. Prisoner Of Paradise review summaries:
fu_q's
An already-bereft, World War 2 Navy man, John Holmes, finds himself stranded and fending for himself on a near-deserted island in the South Pacific after his ship goes down out at sea. Compounding his problems, he soon discovers that he's not alone in this "paradise", as the Nazis have set up a small, nearby radio-monitoring camp staffed by a pervy, lushy letch of a commander and his two carnal-crazy fraulein underlings. In attempting to rescue a pair of nurses also held captive at the camp, Holmes soon finds himself both a prisoner, as well, and at the mercy of this kinky, sadistic, Hitler-obsessed crew. Such is the case in "Prisoner of Paradise", a very good, 1980 release from VCX and directors Gail Palmer and Bob Chinn. [read the full review]

Prisoner of Paradise isn't the most plot motivated adult feature film out there but it isn't a bad feature by any means. The plot is thin and the acting for some of the cast is sketchy but the sex scenes aren't bad. Prisoner of Paradise is nicely shot. VCX has done an acceptable job with the release using a video master and including no extras. [read the full review]

Sweet Alice review summaries:

When his stunning, blonde wife, Seka, leaves him for the big city, a desperately lonely rancher from New Mexico, Kevin James, heads into town to find her. Of course, what he discovers that she's been up to there (porn) might just end up being a bit more than he can handle. Such is the case in "Sweet Alice", a very good, 1983 release from VCX and director Adele Robbins. [read the full review]

Blonde Fire review summaries:
fu_q's
It's all about the chicanery, the subterfuge, and the sex (...and not necessarily in that order...) when everyone's favorite porno action hero, John Holmes (as Johnny Wadd), is put to the task of purchasing and bringing home safely an extraordinarily rare and expensive South African diamond. Of course, no one is to be trusted in this endeavor and just about everyone is--and turns out to be--a potential threat. Such is the case in I-Candy's "Blonde Fire", a very good, 1979 release from director Bob Chinn that features Holmes in yet another, acting-heavy, protagonist-type role that finds him again as the suave, cool-under-pressure, up-to-the-challenge hero. Blonde Fire is the final film in the Johnny Wadd film series that Bob Chinn had any involvement with. Blone Fire isn't the greatest film in the series and I wish that the series had a stronger film to end with. That aside, the film is enjoyable and has a decent plot and some enjoyable sex scenes. I-Candy's transfer for the film is disappointing. [read the full review]

Starring: Annette Haven, Sharon Mitchell, Seka, Lisa Deleeuw, Bridgette Monet, Lee Carrol, Abigail Clayton, Veronica Hart, Serena Eric Edwards, Paul Thomas, Jamie Gillis, Hershel Savage First of all, let it be understood that I hold no porn prejudices. If people want to have sex for my entertainment, who am I not to watch them? That means, among other things, that I have absolutely nothing against "old school" porn. By the same token, however, I don't think "classic" movies are inherently better than what's made today. With that in mind, Blue Ribbon Blue presents itself as a greatest hits package of classic stars. Unfortunately, it's not. In fact, it was produced years ago before its performers were even considered legends, and its poor mastering reflect just how much of a thrown together effort it actually is. Had they known that it would be released in the 21st century, it's producers may have paid closer attention to what they included. [read the full review]
