Taboo 2 / Taboo 3 (Vinegar Syndrome Blu-Ray)
Release date: 11/29/2016
Reviewed on: 12/20/2016
Studio: Vinegar Syndrome
Starring: Crystal Dawn, Kristara Barrington, Ron Jeremy, Marc Wallice, Blake Palmer, Eric Edwards, Kay Parker, Pamela Mann, Linda Shaw, Lisa Lake, Jerry Butler, Cara Lott, Misty Dawn, Tammy, Mike Ranger, Kevin James, Juliet Anderson, Honey Wilder, Jay Serling, David Sanders, Dorothy LeMay, Jeff Conrad, Craig Roberts, Colleen Brennan, Brooke Bennett, Angel West, David Cannon, Terry Galko, Helene Terrie, Rochelle Dean, Edward Dean, Rick Knutson
Directed by: Kirdy Stevens
Review brief: Taboo 2, while not as good as Kirdy Stevens' original Taboo, is an enjoyable feature adult film. The cast does an amazing job with their sex scenes and do a great job with the non-sexual scenes. Taboo 3, on the other hand, is a massive let down with a poor story that does little to connect with the first two films and seems like just an attempt to cash in on the Taboo name. Most viewers likely won't have any interest seeing the film more than once. Taboo 2 makes this release worth picking up. Vinegar Syndrome has done a great job with this release. Taboo 2 has some issues with the video and audio but is still the best release of Taboo 2 on the market and Taboo 3 looks absolutely stunning.

Review brief: Vinegar Syndrome has done a nice job with their triple feature release with Cry for Cindy, Touch Me, and Act of Confession. Cry for Cindy is strong enough to warrant its own release and since they have included the softcore version of the film as well, this release is worth picking up alone just for that title. Touch Me isn't as strong a title nor is Act for Confession. However, since all three are Anthony Spinelli titles it is nice they have all been collected into one set.

Starring: Lydia Black, Tom Bradford, Michael Green, Bill Cable, Robert Lewis, Rocco Passalini, Bruce Williams, Peter Fisk, Cassandra Hart, Wakefield Poole, Ronnie Shark
Directed by: Wakefield Poole
Review brief: Bijou is a great adult film from Wakefield Poole. There isn't a story in the traditional sense of the term, however, Bijou is wonderfully constructed to create a great viewing experience where different viewers will walk away with different beliefs of what just happened. Despite being a gay adult film, viewers of all orientations should find something of value within the film. Vinegar Syndrome has done a great job with the release of Bijou.

Review brief: Boys in the Sand is a visual experience from Wakefield Poole that shows that for him, adult film making was more than just sex, he was trying to create a beautiful cinematic experience. And he succeeds. There are some slow spots in the film, but overall Poole has created a very good film that has become the landmark film in gay adult cinema. Vinegar Syndrome has done a very good job with this release with a decent transfer of the film and a wealth of extras.

Review brief: Vinegar Syndrome has put together a good pairing of films with their release of Bella and Robins Nest. Bella is the highlight of the set and is worth the purchase all by itself. Vinegar Syndrome has added a nice piece from Carter Stevens on Bella as well. The second film, Robins Nest, isn't as good as Bella is but one can think of it is a free extra since Bella is worth the price of admission alone. Vinegar Syndrome has done a beautiful job with this release both films sport beautiful transfers.

Review brief: Prisoner of Paradise isn't the most plot motivated adult feature film out there but it isn't a bad feature by any means. The plot is thin and the acting for some of the cast is sketchy but the sex scenes aren't bad. Prisoner of Paradise is nicely shot. Vinegar Syndrome has done a nice job with the transfer but has only included one extra on the release.

Review brief: Vinegar Syndrome's All Night at the Po-No is a collection of 12 quickly and cheaply made early 70s Los Angeles made adult films. A lot of what is presented here after one viewing you will never want to view again. There are a few others that will stand up to repeated viewings. Vinegar Syndrome wisely decided to make the cost not to expensive so it doesn't matter that a lot of the films presented here are duds. The few winners make up for it. The transfers aren't up to Vinegar Syndrome's usual standards but all the films are watchable. Vinegar Syndrome did miss the mark a little on the disc authoring and the extras included. If you like adult films from the transitional period from softcore to when hardcore films started getting actual budgets, you'll want to check this set out.

Review brief: Dracula Sucks is an odd, high budget, and very fun adult film, which could have only come out of the 1970s adult film industry. While constantly trying to straddle the line of mainstream comedy and adult horror, and never 100 percent succeeding at any of these tasks, the end result is a unique experience that has a lot to offer viewers looking for more than just copulation. The print isn't perfect, but is better than any release prior.

Review brief: Bible! is a silent softcore telling of three biblical tales by gay pornographer Wakefield Poole. The film, designed for heterosexuals, is an arty journey through the stories of Adam and Eve, David and Bathsheba, and Samson and Delilah. The presentation from Vinegar Syndrome is outstanding with a beautiful feature presentation and tons of extras that relate to the feature film.

Review brief: Vinegar Syndrome's double feature of The Jekyll and Hyde Portfolio and A Clock Work Blue combine two films from director Eric Jeffrey Haims. The limited edition Blu-ray and DVD combination pack is limited to 1,000 copies. While The Jekyll and Hyde Portfolio is okay, it may not be a title that you would want to view more than once. A Clock Work Blue is a fun release.

Peekarama: All Night Long / Tapestry Of Passion

Studio: Vinegar Syndrome
Starring: John Holmes, John Leslie, Annette Haven, Desiree West, Sharon Thorpe, Joan Devlon, Melba Bruce, Suzy Chung, Toni Scott, Veronica Taylor, Ric Lutze, Marius Mazmanian, Buck Flower, Lesllie Bovee, Mick Jones, Esther Walker, Patrick Wright, Tallie Chochrane, Brenda Fogarty, Bobbi Jewell, Joan Morris, Lucy Coley, Donna Bowman, Cece Cochran, Charles Blessing, Linda McGain, Lydia Forsythe, Marion Wilcox, Marge Minter, Robin Sutherland
Directed by: Alan Colberg
Review brief: This release from Vinegar Syndrome collects two films from director Alan Colberg and star John Holmes. Tapestry of Passion, the eighth Johnny Wadd film, doesn't fit in well with the series, but is an amazing adult film from the 1970s and should not be missed. All Night Long is a comedy, which is okay but nowhere on the level of Tapestry of Passion. The presentation of both films by Vinegar Syndrome is amazing.

Studio: Vinegar Syndrome
Starring: Annette Haven, David Pinney, Nina Fause, Candida Royalle, Jeff Lyle, Iris Medina, Susan Fuentes, Jose Ferraro
Directed by: Carlos Tobalina
Review brief: Jungle Blue has been an almost impossible film to come across since its original release and probably should have stayed that way as the film is far better in concept than in application. Vinegar Syndrome has done an amazing job with their release of the film that may interest fans of some of the stars. Unless you are a fan of the film, I would pass on this release.
