Pandora's Mirror (Caballero) Review

Review:
A curious, young woman (Veronica Hart) finds herself further and further entranced by an enchanted mirror that she and a friend happen upon in the back of a low-rent, New York City clothing store. Offering up myriad sexual visions and flashbacks of times past, the mirror pulls her deeper and deeper into its erotic, though ultimately devious, web. Such is the case in "Pandora's Mirror", a very good, 1981 release from Caballero and director Warren Evans (Shaun Costello). Featuring a strong and engrossing plot and the lovely (and supremely skilled) thespian, Veronica Hart, in the lead role, this flick offers up a storyline that certainly delivers on its suspenseful promises. Indeed, it's easy to watch this release in a single sitting and take it in, not simply for its sex, but also for its feature qualities. The sex itself is generally hot, as well, with Veronica Hart's efforts buttressed by the likes of Marlene Willoughby, Tiffany Clark, Annie Sprinkle, Kandi Barbour, and Hillary Summers. The only negative in it all is that, at times, the individual sequences conjured up by the mirror seem a touch disjointed. It isn't a major issue, as this production is inherently watchable, it just doesn't feel as connected from one scene to the next at some points as it might. Regardless, this is a relatively minor criticism and, overall, this film is almost certain to appeal to fans of Ms. Hart, the director, and Golden Age features. It's worth checking out.

In terms of the sex, Scene One finds the lovely Veronica Hart, enchanted by an earlier encounter with the mirror, masturbating to the thought of two bodybuilders, George Payne and Jerry Butler, fucking her, as she soaps up in the shower (oral, vaginal ; facial). In Scene Two, a colonial era Tiffany Clark, the original owner of the mirror, plays with herself in front of it, lamenting her older husband's lack of sexual interest. As she's doing so, three soldiers, Roy Stuart, Marc Valentine, and Rod Pierce, chance upon her and take her in the barn (oral, vaginal ; two facials, one pop on the tummy and bush). Scene Three has Marlene Willoughby, an out of control, horny film actress from the 1940's, taking a quick, softcore schtupping from a Latino helper, Jack Houston, at her mansion. A bit later in the day, she seduces a young, female makeup artist, Patty Boyd, by the pool (rimming by Boyd ; Scene Four). Finally, in Scene Five, Marlene, Jack, David Ruby, and Bill McKean have Patty strip down upon the diving board in continuing the last sequence. She fucks Ruby and sucks McKean (pop on her backside by the former, facial by the latter). Scene Six finds Veronica's best buddy, Sandra Hillman, working her way into Hart's frustrated boyfriend's, Jamie Gillis', pants in his apartment (oral, vaginal, rimming by her ; facial). In Scene Seven, the bubbly blonde ingenue and wannabe actress, Hillary Summers, is duped into getting it on with Ron Hudd upon the stage as part of an "audition" (oral, vaginal). As this all transpires, the puffy-titted brunette, Kandi Barbour (RIP), and Celeste Bon, who are taking in the activities, work in some soft, lesbian lovin' (fingers and tongues). Scene Eight features a pretty blonde in a black evening dress, Merle Michaels, coaxed into partaking in the activities going on at a sex club by her wealthy, older hubby. All sorts of sucking and fucking transpires at the club and includes the likes of Annie Sprinkle, Diana May, and Robin Sane. Money-shots and kinky encounters abound in this filthy festival of the flesh, with Michaels ultimately enjoying a buffet of cock and cum. In Scene Nine, Veronica fulfills her fantasy of fucking the two bodybuilders, George Payne and Jerry Butler, whom she's had her eye on...all the while failing to abide by some good advice about the mirror that she was given. This is the full version of the sequence that she masturbated to in the opener and involves oral and vaginal action. Very good!
