Starring: Bambi Woods, Pat Allure, Robyn Byrd,
Paula Head, Misty Winter, Richard Balla, and
other people I never heard of
Pros: Cheerleaders, Bambi Woods played the naive girl well, plot was simple, some good cheesy porn music, cheesy porn
Cons: no features, some really bad music with poor sound quality, old
Memorable quote: "Baby, don't choke. Stay alive" -- man to woman while she was deep- throating him (and you women think us men are insensitive).
Plot: Debbie wants to go to some cheerleading thing. Her and her friends soon figure out that the best way to earn money is use their natural assets and talents.
OK! I admit it. Debbie Does Dallas came out in 1978. At that time I am not sure that I was old enough to pronounce 'pornography', let alone watch it. I know absolutely nothing about the history of porn, but I do know that when I was old enough to know what it was (or at least have some visualization in my head) I heard of two titles: Debbie Does Dallas and On Golden Blonde. I wasn't even sure if they were real titles or fake titles designed to sound like porn. Now I know that Debbie is a classic. Why exactly? I don't know. Rating this title was difficult. How could I slam it for being old? I can't. But then again, how can I give it many accolades? Classic porn does not seem to be held in the same high regards as classic rock. I imagine people will buy this for one of three reasons: to bring back memories, to own a classic, or to laugh. In any case, I am sure that my comments will hold little weight in the decision making process, but nonetheless, I will make some points.
What to expect:
70's music, 70's hair styles, an a lot of bush (get the weed whacker out of the garage). It is weird, but given the women that I do see, thick bush just seems unnatural. Then I have to remind myself that their is nothing unnatural about a thick bush.
The sex scenes are rather short. This is more like a B movie with penetration and cum shots. The plot is not just a commercial break between the sex scenes, rather the sex scenes are just another element of the plot.
Expect to laugh. Expect to get a look at porn of the past (which will cause the laughter). But, I doubt that first time viewers will find the uncontrollable urge to reach in their pants and tug away.
What could have made it more worthy of DVD?
Er.....how about some damn features. It would have been really cool to have interviews of people in the porn industry who were influenced by Debbie. Or, at least some damn trailers.

Shelf life: It's a classic. Of course I'll keep it. Even if only to tell my friends I have Debbie Does Dallas.
Bottom line: A classic. However, I felt that the Nu Tech could have puts attached some features worthy of a classic.
