Initial Expectations: After watching some of Adam & Eve’s Signature Series compilations, I have a lot of hope for this one as well.

Initial Reaction: It’s another great compilation from Adam & Eve.

Who Should Watch It : It’s a must for all fans of anal sex.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who thinks an ass is just for going to the bathroom.

Audio /Video Quality: Of course, since it’s a compilation, both the audio and video do vary. For the most part, it both looks and sounds very good.

Music: It’s a compilation, so yes, the music varies also. A lot of the scenes have Saint’s music, which I love. The music ranges from being the only audio in the scene to a nice balance with the other audio.

False Advertising : The cover claims Adam & Eve’s Hot Shot feature is available but it’s nowhere to be seen that I could find. Also, the cover claims there are18 scenes and there’s twenty. Personally, I don’t really care about the Hot Shots but I know some people do. Even if I did, I think I’d rather have the two bonus scenes.

Menus: The opening menu is animated but the others are plain. The chapter menu is extremely well done. It lists the feature the scene came from and who’s in the scene. The only problem is there are a few spots where a cast member or feature is listed erroneously.

The Feature: When I saw the title Ass Angels I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. One idea was that it’s a compilation of anal sex scenes. The other was similar to the idea of snow angels. Suddenly I had this image of little kinds running up and leaping on the backsides of rather large women at the beach flapping their arms and legs apart to make the angel outline. This was followed by a thought of “Uh oh. We need another Timmy.”. Thankfully it’s the former rather than the latter. Compilation features are something that I could never really figure out. No, it’s not the idea. It’s a simple idea. You put a bunch of scenes on a DVD or a tape. The thing I can’t figure out is why so many of them suck. There are a lot of outstanding scenes out there and quite a few that are way above average. For some reason, very few companies have figured out how to put one together decently. Thankfully, I think Adam & Eve is one of those companies after watching a few of their Signature Series DVDs. There they featured one star, either Asia Carrera , Johnni Black , Alexandra Silk, or Cheyenne Silver , and filled the feature with their scenes. In between the scenes they had somebody interview the star. It’s a great idea. Ass Angels Volume 1 follows that same idea only this time it’s focusing on anal sex. Also, there aren’t any interviews or anything else between the scenes. Although there isn’t anything before each scene to tell you where the scene comes from, all of that is done very nicely in the Chapter Menu.

Tera Patrick and Anthony Crane start things off with a scene from Caribbean Undercover . Ass Angels Volume 1 is a must have for all fans of romantic anal sex. The only problem is a minor one. The feature is stretched over both sides of the DVD. I know other studios have fit four hours on one side, but it never looked as good as it does here. I’m willing to flip over the DVD after a little over two hours if it’s the price I have to pay for the feature to look and sound this good.

Extras: Of course, there’s the two bonus scenes listed above, which is a great start and a great extra on any DVD. A cast listing duplicates what’s on the back cover. The photo gallery lasts about two and a half minutes with about five seconds per photo. There’s a mix of snapshots and full screen photos and it looks good overall. Finally, there are a few web site listings.

Overall: Currently, Ass Angels Volume 1 can be found online for between $20 and $25, but at this time only three stores are offering it. For over four hours of sex $20 is a bargain if it’s done right, as it is here. There isn’t much for extras, but twenty scenes and a photo gallery seem like enough.

Note to Adam & Eve: This is another great compilation. It’s great to see that some companies out there can advertise “4 Hours” and actually give the consumer four hours and then a little more. When you reprint the covers, please remove the claim of the Hot Shot Feature as it’s the only bad thing on this compilation.
