"Wacky World of X-Rated Bloopers", an overall-decent, 1989 release from Gourmet Video and narrated by Kimberly Carson, is exactly as its name would imply--a collection of bloopers and behind the scenes material from a number of 1980's releases. Funny moments, true missteps, wood issues, and micromanaging directors are all highlighted. A number of stars from the era make appearances, some more so than others, and the release does provide a nice look at life on a porn set from a time period when BTS material really wasn't mass-produced and readily available. While it's not so much a production to get off to, it's certainly interesting and reasonably worth a watch. [read the full review]

Beyond Desire is a typical couples film from the 1980s (1983 to be specific) in that the feature relies heavily on dialogue and plot and only offers short snippets of sex (4-5 minutes each). There is bad acting throughout, with the notable exception of John Leslie, who plays a private investigator staying in a whorehouse (dont ask why; its too stupid to explain) and doing just about all the hookers in the place. There are some huge names in this feature, including Gina Carrera, Nina Hartley, Seka, and Vanessa del Rio, who, unfortunately, gets only one short sex scene towards the end of the 83 minutes. Nina is almost unrecognizable in a black wig. Little Oral Annie makes a brief appearance sucking off a couple guys. Kristara Barrington graces the first scene and takes a nice facial one of only three in the nine-scene flick. Patti Petit has the only anal action. Many moons ago, when I would come home from college, I had access to a group of xxx titles to watch in my Dad's top-loading VCR. SEX BOAT (1980 and 2006 VCX) was one of those flicks. Directed by David I. Fraser and Svetlana, written and edited by Fraser, SEX BOAT is a crazy concoction that's part SOME LIKE IT HOT, part LOVE BOAT plus some pirates are thrown in for good measure. A couple of dolts dressed like women (Turk Lyon and Randy West) are stowaways on an all girls cruise and lame comedy antics ensue. However, SEX BOAT stays afloat because of the most incredible cast of beautiful female performers ever assembled for a xxx film. They don't make 'em like this anymore and this 2006 VCX dvd presentation of the 80 minute film looks and sounds terrific. [read the full review]
