Review brief: My short review: The Private Life of series USED to be the best compilation series in the porn marketplace. Ive seen about 10 of them and most of them featured girls from Privates glory days --- Cassandra Wild, Michelle Wild, Sandra Iron, and Julia Taylor, to name but a few --- and these were girls that had face recognition and star power to the consumer. Plus, these girls were prominently featured in Privates cast listings and graced the DVD cover art. Read my reviews of prior editions and youll get a sense of the high regard that I have for this series. Its no secret that Private lost some of their director talent as porn went global and their stable of star talent wasnt up to past standards. The recent editions of this series have brought back painful reminders of their rough patch in the not too far past.

Privates holiday-themed offering, Sexy Santa, turned out to be a great X-mas gift that I will appreciate well into 2007. The roster of hot Eurobabes includes big names such as Liz Honey, Judith Fox, and Dora Venter but it was the return of the gorgeous red-head, Julia Taylor, that got me excited for this viewing.

Review brief: My very short review: The Private Life of Nikki Sun is another edition in the long-running compilation series from Private. All of the scenes in this 2-disc release feature the beautiful Nikki in a previously released scene from the Private catalog except for the exclusive scene, which was filmed for this release. Additionally, in all but one of the scenes, Nikki gives up the ass. In fact, most of the other girls accompanying Nikki in the scenes get the backdoor treatment. The scenes not only come in good quantity but the quality is pretty good as well. It helps that Nikki is a stunning blonde and that the settings and camera work are of Privates high standards. My only complaint with this release is the short interview segments that run prior to each scene. Nikki is upfront that her porn career is just a job that pays very well but it was the lack of additional insight and in-depth dialogue between the interviewee and Nikki that bored me to death.

Review brief: My very short review: The Private Life of series is one of the best compilation series out there in porno land. Each edition of this series features a select Eurobabe who has starred in enough scenes from the Private catalog to fill out a compilation. The other trademarks of this series is that there is a running interview segment prior to each scene and there is an exclusive scene filmed for the compilation. For this edition, the honor is bestowed upon the Hungarian beauty, Liz Honey. Liz has a good body and dirty blonde hair. She recently had a small boob job and the new rack is shown in the exclusive scene that was shot for this compilation. Ive barely noticed Lizs work but given my success with this series, I wanted to see how this edition stacks up against previous editions. And my verdict is Its the weakest when compared to the other editions in this series that Ive seen. The interview segments could have been more in-depth and engaging.

Review brief: Director: Pierre Woodman Running time: 2:56 My very short review: Sex City 2 is Pierre Woodmans porn tribute to Sin City and this episode continues the trilogy right where we left off in part one. Our hero, Black, had been framed for murder and hes out for vengeance as he scours the city for clues and evildoers. There are some other side plots (introduction of the girl gang and the pimp gang) besides the main heros and they fit in nicely with the main storyline. Stylistically, the use of black and white with pronounced color effects is continued here as well as the voice-over dubbing. NYC again provides the backdrop for the scenery in this anamorphic widescreen presentation. There are a total of 10 sex scenes featuring lovely Euro lasses, most of whom partake in anal action. Some of the segues into the sex action was comical but that is features-styled porn for you. Judged wholly, I thought the sex action was better in part one though that is not to say that part 2 was a big letdown.

Review brief: Director: Pierre Woodman Running time: 2:56 My very short review: Sex City is Pierre Woodmans porn take on Frank Millers graphic novel, Sin City and the movie of the same name. This is the 1st part in the Private trilogy and it is an impressive effort. Pierre mirrors the mainstream movies look with the black and white visuals and the added, pronounced color efforts mixed in for great effect. In fact, Pierre used a lot of the green screen effect/technology to produce some of the background visuals. As for the storyline, Pierre takes some liberties but stays true when he can. The production values are your standard from Private high quality and presented in anamorphic widescreen. A lot of the outdoor scenes were filmed on the streets of NYC and that provided a nice backdrop for scenes. Of course, you have the stunning Eurobabe cast though I was unfamiliar with most of them. There were a total of 9 sex scenes scattered throughout the flick and they were a great mix of b/g, g/g, b/g/g, and b/b/g.

Regardless of the theme or genre, any movie with Lucy Lee, the Czech version, is worth a peep as she is one of my favorites. Plus, this will be my first exposure to Terri Summers, of recent Ass Worship 8 fame, though I am disappointed she isnt sporting the long black hair as depicted in her ADT avatar but rather short curly brown hair in her scene. Terri still looks great though. Review brief: Running time: 2:15 My very short review: The Best By Private is a compilation series from their vast catalog that shares a certain commonality amongst the scenes. And here in this compilation of eight scenes it is the ass-to-mouth (ATM) and ass-to-other-girls mouth (ATOGM) theme. Anyone familiar with Private knows that this oral clean-up act is featured in almost every one of their movies and so there was a lot of source material to choose from. To that end, Private did a good job in selecting the scenes as each scene has at least two female performers and just one stud, which I tend to favor. Also, no female performer appears in more than one scene, which offers good variety in the talent.

Director: Alessandro Del Mar Running time: 1:46 Disc 1: The basic plot of the movie is as follows In early 18th century London, Robinson (George Uhl) kills a man during a fight and leaves for New York to escape prosecution. The ship, however, crashes off the coast of Brazil and Robinson is the lone survivor of the wreck as he washes ashore. Robinson is left only with some basic materials such as a writing instrument, a book to record his diary during his 8-year stay on the island, and a gun. Its too bad he forgot to pack a collection of The Private Life of DVDs for his journey. Let that be a lesson to travelers --- dont forget essentials. Eight years have elapsed on the island and Robinson passes the time by writing and walking but is never too far from the haunting images of the face of his victim.

I gave the 1st episode The Struggle For Power a rating of 4 stars. I hope this is a good continuation of the 1st episode and that it makes me interested to view the finale of the trilogy. However, based on first glance, I note that this episode has 6 sex scenes compared to 8 in the 1st episode and secondly, this release is not a 2-disc affair, which means there is a lack of extras. Dora Venter, Mya Diamond and Victoria Swinger reprise their roles from the 1st episode and there are some new faces including Gina Blonde being the most notable.

Review brief: Whats in my DVD player (mainstream): Raging Bull (2-disc special edition) This biopic of Jake La Motta paints an unsympathetic picture of the Bronx Bull and avoids any attempt at a feel-good Hollywood ending, both of which may have contributed to Raging Bull not winning Best Picture and Best Director for Scorcese. However, this movie almost appears unanimously in film critics top films of all time and it is highly recommended. Director: David Perry Running time: 1:46 My short review: This title drew my interest to see if David Perry was directing a pure gonzo flick for Private, which is a little out of the norm for them. It would be impossible to confuse Davids work with Antonio Adamos, especially if you have seen Davids work with Zero Tolerance.

Review brief: Whats in my DVD player (mainstream): Band of Brothers This HBO mini-series has to rank as one of the best made for TV shows ever. The opening interview segments with the living members of Easy Company help convey the experiences that they endured as well as the heroism and carnage they witnessed. The script and acting are incredible and help to paint a clear picture to the viewer as to the experiences of war. The DVD set is pricey but it is well worth the money. My short review: I happen to think that Stacys best work has been outside of Private -- Evil Angels Just Fuckin, 3rd Degrees Cum Beggars come to mind but it wouldnt be fair to mention her scorching scene in Privates Hot Property, which is included here. Also, Im a big fan of the Private Life of series so I was more than happy to purchase this title. Stacy is from the European porn capital, the Czech Republic, where a bevy of beauties such as Monica Sweetheart and Lucy Lee have originated from. There must be something in the water.
