Private Life of Lara Stevens Review

My short review:

The Private Life of… series USED to be the best compilation series in the porn marketplace. I’ve seen about 10 of them and most of them featured girls from Private’s glory days --- Cassandra Wild, Michelle Wild, Sandra Iron, and Julia Taylor, to name but a few --- and these were girls that had face recognition and star power to the consumer. Plus, these girls were prominently featured in Private’s cast listings and graced the DVD cover art. Read my reviews of prior editions and you’ll get a sense of the high regard that I have for this series.

It’s no secret that Private lost some of their director talent as porn went global and their stable of star talent wasn’t up to past standards. The recent editions of this series have brought back painful reminders of their rough patch in the not too far past. It seems that the only qualification for this series is that any girl who has appeared in at least 15 scenes for Private, regardless if they got prominent roles or star billing.

In lurking on the Eurobabetalk forum, Lara is known outside of the Private catalog as someone who has great gaping ability and has had her share of double anal scenes. However, those facts alone don’t make me a fan and her Private catalog compiled within this release does nothing to change my opinion. I found these scenes to be below average and I’m glad to have skipped the source titles.

The interview segments between the scenes was over-dubbed into English and the interviews were horrible. Example:

Off camera interviewer – “Your next movie for Private was _____. How did you like working for [director]?”
Lara – “I don’t really remember that scene. I think it was good.”
[Next scene is played and it ends.]
Off camera interviewer – “Your next movie for Private was _____.” How did you like working in foreign locations?”
Lara – “Good. I like it.”
[Next scene is played and it ends.]
Off camera interviewer – “Your next movie for Private was _____. How did you like working for [director]?”
Lara – “He is good. I like him.”

Suggestion to Private’s production/creative staff --- couldn’t you have provided in-depth questions to Lara prior to the filming of the interview? The interview would’ve came off much better even if Lara bull-shitted through it but at least she would’ve had time to prepare better responses. As it turned out, the questions though simplistic and maybe leading seemed to have caught her off guard and she struggled to answer. Mind you, the dialogue between the interviewer and Lara was in her native tongue and translated to English on the DVD so English was not the problem.

Each of the scenes in this compilation features Lara’s ass getting plowed though there is no DAP or other circus act stuff. The sex scenes/action never reach above the average mark. The best scene in this compilation was the recently shot exclusive scene where her look has matured and more care has put forth in her appearance. Summary:
This is a pure quantity over quality decision. If you’re a fan of Lara, you’ll get 17 scenes, though lukewarm as the sex may be. If you’re a fan of this series, be worried because I think its glory has passed.
