Her well-toned midriff is on full display, and the bottom of a breast just barely pokes out from under the lower edge of her shirt. Her brunette hair is curled, and her feminine hands are strategically positioned--one slipped under the top and the other under the waistband of the bottoms. Such is the initial introduction to "Hardcore", a good, now-nostalgic release from Vivid Video featuring one of the true beauties of porn's yesteryear, Ms. Nikki Dial.

Indeed, the sequences range from very good (Bobbi Starr's) to simply "okay" (Evanni Solei's) and everything in between. While nothing here is "bad", per se, this flick simply seems to lack momentum and enough strong scenes to recommend it. It's above average...but "average" is a fairly low bar.

Indeed, Ms. Haze helps herself to not one, not two, not even three, but instead a total of four helpings of the dark meat in this release...including a two-on-one tag-teaming by Jon Jon and Julius Ceazher and a one-on-one bang-out with none other than the monster dong himself, Lexington Steele. Also accounted for is a diabolical Allie, Nyomi Banxxx, Mr. Marcus romp, a Skin Diamond and Dana Dearmond domination lez-fest, and a criminally sexy Kimberly Kane and Prince Yahshua anal pounding. Featuring a strong plot, solid casting, and steamy sex, this flick delivers in all of the areas necessary to make it a worthwhile pick-up. In so doing, Kimberly Kane continues to impress as a director, with her gritty, edgy content and style.

Review brief: Putting the groove back into groovy, "The Newlywed Game XXX" features Steven St. Croix as the jaded, though comical, host of a 60s / 70s gameshow that goes far beyond simply asking suggestive questions of its married guests. Indeed, this adult take on the original hit show is surprisingly sexy in its themes and its content and also quite effective in its execution. Full of hot fucking, cheesy comedy, and authentic sets and costuming, this one ends up being a very good release from Vivid and Hank Hoffman that's definitely worth checking out.

Review brief: Pushed to the brink of madness after stealing a briefcase loaded with cash, Lexi Belle finds herself on the run with her guy (Evan Stone) and imagining her victims, the Russo twins, just about everywhere...or so it seems. Such is the case in "In Her Head", a very good release from Vivid and David Stanley. A mind-bender of an adult film that's somewhat reminiscent of the Hitchcock flicks of yesteryear, this production features both a strong and engrossing plot and also plenty of hot sex. Indeed, a crazy Lexi Belle is just as cute as--if not cuter than--a sane one, and the figments that her mind conjures up are almost always as sexy as they are disturbing. With all of this taken together, this unusual release is easy to recommend.

Indeed, Superman is ultimately faced with the difficult dilemma that pits his desire to establish a so-called normal life against his eternal need to save people from the clutches of evil. Whichever side wins will certainly lead to dire consequences.

Review brief: It's all Allie all of the time in B. Skow's "All About Allie", a very good release from Vivid Video. Featuring six sexy sequences of the brunette cutie and former Vivid Girl, Allie Haze, this flick certainly delivers on its title and also on the heat. Indeed, with Allie partaking in two scenes of self-lovin' (including a unique one with a fucking machine), a sensual boy/girl scene in the country, some hot and heavy boy/boy/girl action in a hotel room (including some interracial), a super-sexy three-girls/one-guy encounter in a biker bar, and even a blow-bang with five studs, this one certainly serves as a strong showcase of her many and varied talents. Furthering this all along--and also accentuating Allie's good looks--are the strong camerawork, excellent costuming and makeup that match the chosen settings, and the generally excellent artistic direction that has become synonymous with a B. Skow production. In a word, it's worthy.

Such is the case in "Devil on a Chain", a very good release from Ms. Kane and Vivid Video. Done in the grindhouse / sexploitation style, this flick features a good blend of sex, action, gore, and comedy as it traces Kimberly's vengeful path from start to bloody finish. There's enough of each of these elements present--and they're done well enough--to keep the viewer's interest, and having the likes of Skin Diamond, Dana Dearmond, Brandy Aniston, Veruca James, Charlotte Stokely, and Kimberly herself in the cast is certain to guarantee a success. Indeed, this is the case...and this film is worthy.

Review brief: It's "Fucklemania" time, and Chyna has been brought back into the ring to fuck her way through the ranks of wrestling's legendary elite. Such is the attempt in "Chyna is Queen of the Ring", a not-so-great parody from Vivid that features the one-time female wrestling star in a variety of sexual scenarios. While the idea here is a unique one--and had potential--the execution in most of the sequences pretty much falls through. This is particularly true for the gangbang but also for much of the rest of the action, as well. Chyna seems to shine when another, more-experienced actress is partaking in the festivities with her, but when shes on her own, she seems a bit inexperienced (hard to blame her) and, perhaps, not so into the goings-on. Unfortunately, this one simply misses the mark.

Review brief: The claws pop and the costumes drop when Wolverine (Tommy Gunn) and company try to hunt down Wolvie's arch-rival, Sabretooth (Evan Stone), in "Wolverine XXX". A very good release from Axel Braun and Vivid, this flick features a cadre of characters parodying some of the more popular Marvel brands. Included are the likes of Rogue (Allie Haze), Spider-Man (Xander Corvus), Mariko Yashida (Asa Akira), and Phoenix (Andy San Dimas) to name but a few. The casting is certainly strong, as are the costuming and sets, and the sex is generally quite hot. Further, the plot is substantially more developed in this release than in the past couple of Braun's Marvel parodies (i.e. the Iron Man and She-Hulk endeavors)...which never really felt like they fully got going. Also of note is the fact that a number of references are made back (...correctly...) to the original comic book literature, which will please even the most ardent of fan-boys.

Indeed, under the weight of a shady, spendthrift boyfriend and her own personal obsessions, Brooklyn Lee finds her trust fund quickly evaporating...and with it her ability to support herself and survive. With her path set and betrayal and desperation on the horizon, she must make her choices--as difficult as they may be and regardless of where they may lead. Featuring a strong plot, extraordinary acting, authentic San Francisco settings, and a unique means of incorporating the original film of the early-1970's, this production is simply one of the best adult features released in quite some time. Indeed, this is Brooklyn Lee's crowning jewel...a fitting end to a stellar career.

Review brief: Dale Dabone reprises his role as arrogant, showboating weapons-maker Tony Stark in "Iron Man XXX: An Axel Braun Parody". An overall-good production from Vivid and director Braun, this one is a take-off on the popular Marvel Comics property that includes the character's origin as well as a later-set conflict with an archnemesis, the Mandarin (played by Derrick Pierce). The costuming and sets in this production are top-notch, and the female cast and the sex are typically strong (the Brooklyn Lee/Lexi Belle--Black Widow/Pepper--lesbian tryst is the best of the bunch). Ending on a cliffhanger, the plot doesn't ever fully get going like it could have, however, and it seems that more effort could have been put forth in these regards. In all, it's a worthy production, but it doesn't fully live up to the high expectations that accompany it.

In typical Skow style, the camerawork is exceptional here, and the solo-girl intro sequences are top-notch. Aside from Allie, Tia is the standout. Looking deeper into her filmography is a definite must. In all, this flick features hot sex involving wholesome young women that's all captured quite well for the benefit of the viewer. It's worthy.

Featuring a decent enough plot to keep the viewer's interest, along with some hot sex and an equally hot cast, this flick serves as a nice showcase of one of Vivid's more attractive contract stars of yesteryear. Indeed, Taylor Hayes was certainly an exceptional performer in all of the categories that really mattered. She was something else, both physically and sexually. Helping her out here are the likes of Ruby and Chloe, both legends in their own right, and both more than capable of putting on strong performances. In all, this one would make for a decent rental or low-price purchase for the fan of 90s erotica.

Review brief: Everyone from a crime mob to an international terrorist group known as Hydra seems to be after Gracie Glam (as Jennifer Walters) and her alter-ego Chyna (as She-Hulk) in "She-Hulk XXX: An Axel Braun Parody". An overall good production, this parody of the popular Marvel Comics brand features a strong cast and has its moments in terms of the sex. The best sequence in the film is definitely the Alexis Ford / Chyna coupling--Alexis is stunning as the Invisible Woman--and the Jennifer Dark (Madame Hydra) boy-girl scene with Alan Stafford isn't far behind. More really should have been made of showing off Chyna's physique, however, and the plot is good for porn standards but not really anything to write home about, either. In all, it's worth a look, but it isn't the mega-feature that one might have been hoping for.

Review brief: It's just another freaky day of fucking at the sex shop for Allie Haze and Lexi Swallow in "Clerks XXX: A Porn Parody". A very good production from B. Skow and Vivid Video, this film successfully parodies the similarly titled cult classic of the 1990s. Indeed, many of its plot elements are similar to those found in the original--in a pornified form, of course--and it's all wrapped together with some suck-and-fuck action of the sexy variety. In all, this one works out quite well as both a parody and as a fuck-flick, serving as yet another convincing example of Skow's superior directing abilities.

Review brief: Get ready for super-powered pussies and spandex-busting boners, as some of the most popular characters from the two dominant comic book universes collide in this Axel Braun superhero mega-parody, "Superman vs. Spider-Man XXX" (Vivid). Indeed, as a sex-soaked mash-up of storylines that cross both two of the director's earlier parodies as well as the two aforementioned universes, there will almost certainly be something for the comic geek and porn nerd in everyone. Cast perfectly and strung together with a special-effect-laden, comical plot that doesn't take itself too seriously, everything blends extraordinarily well here--the cast, the acting, the production values, the settings, the costuming, and the acute attention to detail. Nothing is overlooked. Of course, the sex is off-the-hook sexy, as well...as should come as no surprise given the names in the cast list. In all honesty, this may be the best Braun superhero parody of the bunch. It's awesome.

Review brief: Trickery, lies, and deceit rule the day in the "Dark Knight XXX: A Porn Parody"--an overall-excellent production from director Axel Braun and Vivid Video. With the city of Gotham held hostage at the hands of a maniacal terrorist known simply as Bane (Derrick Pierce), Batman (Giovanni Francisco) must return from the self-loathing that has become his retirement to try to stop him. Along the way, the viewer is treated to the carnal delights of such characters as Batgirl (Penny Pax), the Joker (Brendon Miller), Nightwing (Brian Street Team), Poison Ivy (Dani Jensen), Catwoman (Aiden Ashley), Zatanna (Christy Mack), Constantine (actor Clarke Kent), and even Kathy Kane (Andy San Dimas) as Batman's former fiancee. Of course, Batman also gets in on the action, as does Bane, and the various scenes either take the form of Batman's troubled memories or are put forth in a present-day context.

Review brief: Some of the best--and sexiest--heroes are on display in "Avengers XXX: A Porn Parody", a very good adult rendition of the popular Marvel Comics property of the same name. In this production, director Axel Braun teams up with an all-star cast to faithfully reproduce the look and feel of these comic book heroes. Indeed, from Eric Masterson's "Hawkeye" to Brooklyn Lee's "Black Widow", the players all put forth authentic representations of their respective characters. Further, the sex in this parody is typically quite hot, and it's every fan-boy's wet dream to see his favorite Marvel heroes in some sexy suck-and-fuck action. On all of these fronts, this release pretty much excels. The only area in which it really falls short is the storyline--it feels a little bit light and incomplete in these regards (see the review). Either way, however, it's a strong enough endeavor that's worth a look...particularly for comic book geeks.

For those who may not know, Phil is the big-dicked, heavily-tattooed, former drummer for Saigon Kick (back in the day) and also Skid Row (later on)...both, of course, in the 80s hard rock / metal genre of music. As such, it's safe to say that he has probably received more than his fair share of groupie tail over the years, and this (not-so-)secret stash gives the viewer a small sampling of all that. Indeed, Phil pounds his meaty drum stick down on the skins of six willing ladies in this production, all for the viewing pleasure of the audience. Rock on, Phil. Rock on.

Review brief: "Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide to Advanced Anal Sex" is a good production from Vivid and Tristan Taormino that, as its title implies, provides a good deal of information about the practice of anal stimulation. The disc kicks off with about 20 minutes of informational material, and a variety of topics are covered. There's info on the anatomy / science of anal play, preparing for it, pointers on what to do, info regarding the male prostate and the female G-spot, material on various positions, and coverage of the topic as it pertains to both men and women (as givers and receivers, alike). After this, there's a transition to four demonstrations involving adult stars, each with its own unique characteristics and flavor. Sex-wise, the demos are typically fairly hot, though a couple of them don't end in a male climax, so it's a bit of a let-down in that regard. All in all, this one is informative, and the production achieves its educational goals well.

Review brief: A day in "Lia's Life" is anything but boring--that's for sure--as this exceptional production from B. Skow and Vivid clearly demonstrates. Filmed in a fun, faux-documentary style, a cameraman follows Lia around as she goes through a typical action- (and sex-) packed day. Of course, there's plenty of super-hot boinking in this one--both on the set and also at the home of a famous rapper (played by Mr. Pete)--but there's also a good deal of sexy, non-sex antics, as well.
