Synopsis:
A woman (Paula Price), who is obsessed with sex, goes to see a doctor (Randy Spears) for treatment. He studies her sexuality in order to help her with her problem.

Audio/Video:
Night Trips 2 is presented with an English 2.0 Stereo track which sounds acceptable for that material being presented in the film. The track is a little flat sounding and given the visual beauty being presented in the film, I wish that it had been a little more flamboyant, but it does work. The dialog is clear and easy to hear at all times during the film. Caballero hasn't included any foreign language tracks or subtitle options for the film.

Night Trips 2 is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1, which appears to be the original aspect ratio for the film. Unfortunately, the video presentation of the film is a far cry from the audio presentation. The box claims that the film is digitally remastered from the original 35mm film. Don't let this fool you into thinking that this means that the film looks good. There is constant grain throughout the film, which varies from light to very heavy. There are also portions of the film that have smearing evident. Add on top of all this, that there are occasional glitches which makes it appear like there was a VHS master used at some point in the creation of the disc. The color levels are a little light, but in consideration of all of the other problems, this is not a big deal. A film this beautiful deserves a better transfer than this, this is the worst Caballero transfer that I have seen yet.

Special Features:
Caballero has only included one extra on the disc which is a photo gallery that contains 24 stills each on their own track. The photos are in horrible shape, they are very grainy and sometimes even very blurry. I wish Caballero had tried a little harder to put on relevant extras for the film.

Navigation:
Night Trips 2 features the standard horrible authoring job done by Caballero on their early discs. There are five chapters available from the main menu for the feature film and each one is identified by a still shot from the portion of the film that it goes to. Each scene, and chapter for that matter, is on it's own track, so reversing through to past scenes is impossible. Each track has a time code, but since the film is mastered in this manner, the time code will only allow you to search within each scene and the counter resets at the beginning of each scene. Given the style of the film and the authoring job of the disc, this film is very hard to search through to find any given spot in the film.

General Review:
Although there is a small plot running through Night Trips 2, this is not a film for viewers that want to watch a plot-based film because the story isn't that important to the film. Instead, this is a beautiful and sensual film that seduces the viewer with the imagery present. Some viewers may not find this film to their liking due to the arty nature of the film.

The film is beautifully shot in a combination of color and black and white photography. The film features excellently framed shots that ends up coming off more like a softcore film than a hardcore one. The film also boasts some excellent sets that fit perfectly into the scenes. The end result is a film that is more like an erotic dream than a hardcore sex film. So, needless to say, this film isn't for everyone.

The sex scenes in the film are tame and will disappoint “raincoaters” as they are not just jacking off material. There is far more of an emphasis on the beauty of the female form and the beauty of the act of sex than there is on straight-out masturbation material. Many of the sex scenes are interlaced with each other, which some viewers won't like. The cast looks great and interacts well with each other. The sexual themes in the film are vaginal sex with blow jobs, pussy eating (male to female and female to female), lesbianism, female masturbation, pussy fingering (male to female), vaginal toy use and vaginal strap-on use. For viewers that care about condom use, there are no condoms used in the film.

The Scenes:
This film doesn't follow the standard sex scene formula for adult films. A few of the scenes are very short and other scenes continue interlaced with a series of other scenes. The first two scenes are interlaced. The first scene features Paula Price masturbating and the second scene features Paula Price and Jon Dough and starts out with a blow job before going into some vaginal sex. The scene concludes with some pussy eating.

The third scene features Paula Price and Cheri Taylor, although Cheri only participates in a little of the scene. The scene is interlaced with the fourth through the eleventh scenes, but the fourth through the eleventh scenes are not all interlaced with each other. The scene mostly consists of Paula masturbating. During a short portion of it, Cheri joins in and uses a dildo on Paula. The fourth scene features Paula Price and Jon Dough and starts out with Paula masturbating before Jon joins in for some pussy eating.

The fifth scene features Heather Lere, Nina Alexander and Paula Price and is a lesbian scene. The scene features pussy eating and toys. The sixth scene features Cheri Taylor and Randy Spears and starts out with a blow job before going into a pussy eating and pussy fingering combination. The scene concludes with some vaginal sex.

The seventh scene features Erica Boyer and Cameo for another lesbian scene that consists of female masturbation, strap-on vaginal sex and pussy eating. The eighth scene brings us Paula Price, Eric Price and Brigitte Monroe. Most of the sexual acts are performed by Paula and Eric while Brigitte spends the scene masturbating. Paula and Eric start out with some vaginal sex before going into the blow job. The blow job is followed by some pussy eating. There is a reprise of the vaginal sex to end the scene.

The ninth and tenth scenes are interlaced with each other. The ninth scene features Randy West, Lauren Hall and Brigitte Monroe and starts out with a blow job before going into some vaginal sex to conclude the scene. The tenth scene gives us Racquel Darrian and Derrick Lane and starts out with some pussy fingering before going into a blow job and female masturbation combination. The scene concludes with some vaginal sex.

The eleventh scene brings us Lauren Hall and Tammy Monroe and is another lesbian scene which consists of some pussy eating. The third scene ceases at this point and the twelfth and final scene in the film features Paula Price masturbating.

Parting Thoughts:
Night Trips 2 is an excellent film for viewers that like arty and tame sex. Although there is a minute plot, the imagery is the reason to watch this film. Despite the very poor transfer and the authoring problems, the film is not unwatchable and fans of Andrew Blake's work will still want to pick this disc up. Viewers that are new to Andrew Blake may want to seek out a film that has been given better treatment on DVD and hope that this one gets the release it deserves one day.
