Lasse Braun's AMERICAN DESIRE (1981, Cabalerro Home Video) is a marvelous fuck flick from The Golden Age of Porn. Long time couple, Sheila and Bob, (Veronica Hart and R. Bolla) are at an impasse in their relationship so the duo embark on separate sexual odysseys that cross paths in a strikingly shot three-way climax with a strange hitchhiker (Lysa Thatcher) along for the ride. Early on, Bob takes the leap first as Sheila must warm up to the idea of having other lovers but it's her midway transformation that makes this film so special. Standard frame. 80 minutes.

At night, while watching a kung fu flick in their beach house, Sheila and Bob lie in bed and play with his limp prick. Sheila says she feels "like an old married woman," which leads to the duo discussing their relationship and Bob bringing up the idea of having other sexual partners.

So, in the first half of AMERICAN DESIRE, Bob takes the plunge first. He calls an escort service and makes the mistake of agreeing to something "kinky" at the end of his phone call. Soon, the kinky call girl (Mistress Candice) arrives and Bob soon finds himself handcuffed in a chair with his call girl in S and M gear only there to deny him pleasure. So, "that's what you meant by kinky," he muses.

Bookending Bob's ill-fated escort encounter, Sheila find herself running errands and passing on a potential hook-up of her own. At her father's house, she catches Dad (Jack Teague) sucking and fucking his young Asian beauty, Mai Lin, his inspiration for getting some writing done. Wearing sexy high heeled sandals and a colorful dress, Mai Lin looks hot as she sucks his cock then the duo perform on a piece of back porch patio furniture that concludes in mish and a cum shot on the tummy.

Driving a classic red T-Bird, Sheila arrives at a deserted mansion that had once belonged to her Grandfather. Inside, she wanders about some rooms and runs into George, (George Payne) who offers to take her out to lunch. So, out with Dad the next day, Sheila brings him home only to find George sucking and fucking Mai Lin, who had quickly seduced the young man there to meet Sheila's father. The duo catch George and Mai Lin at the end of their indoor encounter that had started with a blow job by the fire place and ends in solid straight sex positions in the bedroom with Mai Lin riding cowgirl then falling forward onto George's face a highlight. When Dad wonders if Sheila wants to join them, a frustrated Sheila leaves; Dad approaches the lovers, meets George, and tells him that by making Mai Lin very happy he had made him happy.

The terrific second half of AMERICAN DESIRE focuses on Bob and Sheila's separate encounters that lead to that wonderful three-way finale. Out for a ride in his jeep, Bob picks up a shy hitchhiker, (the lovely Lysa Thatcher) who asks about a place to hang out. Meanwhile, Sheila has returned to that deserted property near the cemetery and puts on her lipstick in an antique oval mirror.

Upstairs at a friend's vacant property, Bob observes the young hitch hiker riding a small wooden hobby horse. From atop the toy, she creeps over to where Bob is standing and submissively licks his leather shoes. After a kiss and the words "it's not that simple," she unzips her bag and takes out a collar and flogger and wants Bob to hit her "like a Daddy hits his little girl." She pops out her boobs from her shirt, takes a light flogging then the duo suck and fuck on and around a bed frame and spring mattress that concludes with a cum shot coating the hitchhiker's tongue.

At the abandoned property, Sheila encounters a dark haired stranger (Roy Stuart, also composer of the film score) that holds Sheila against her will. However, her "no" becomes "yes" as the duo land on the floor with the stranger fingering Sheila with her panties pulled down to her knees. When she runs, she dashes upstairs where the stranger easily pursues her; an exhausted Sheila seems to give in as less menacing music accompanies the stranger kneeling beside her and plunging his cock down her mouth. In the other room, the hitchhiker hears Sheila's heated erotic tale and Bob's tender passion and begins masturbating. So, this delightful verbal and visual two way encounter segues into a fantastic three way as Sheila then Bob join the hitchhiker for a final sexual foray concluding with the trio sucking, fucking and sharing into the night.

So, Lasse Braun's AMERICAN DESIRE (1981) is a near perfect fuck flick that scores on so many levels. Give Braun credit for writing a wonderful story that integrates such solid sexual encounters in its 80 minutes then for bringing in two scriptwriters to flesh out the characters of Sheila and Bob that are so perfectly played by Veronica Hart and R. Bolla. Technical aspects are also top-notch so this flick deserves to be seen and enjoyed.
