review from 9/4/2016:
John Leslie Dupre AKA John Leslie acted in many a classic xxx production from the '70s and '80s. By the late '80s, Mr. Leslie had worked with most of the great porn directors and decided to direct films of his own. He rounded up Jack Remy as director of photography, Bill Heid for jazzy or bluesy music then John directed, wrote or co-wrote and edited a great many films for VCA from 1987 through 1994. Four films from this period appear on JOHN LESLIE 4 ON 1 (2009, VCA Classics-LFP Video Group) including THE CATWOMAN from 1988, THE CHAMELEON from 1989, STRANGE CURVES from 1990 and ANGELS from 1992. At nearly 6 hours, this collection scores well with three really solid productions with ANGELS being the only misfire from the bunch. Standard frame. [read the full review]

Dance Fire is the first movie that was released by John Stagliano's new company Evil Angel in the late 80s. Modern viewers who missed the 80s may not appreciate this movie for what it is worth however for those who didn't Dance Fire is a dated but fun time capsule that will bring back fond memories of a bygone era. review from 12/8/2012:
A mystical sexual relic has been pilfered from a Chinese temple, and a sexy stripper (Barbii) is its unwitting carrier in "Eye of the Tigress", an excellent late-80s production from Caballero and director Bruce Seven. Indeed, fellow dancers John Stagliano and Sharon Mitchell have conspired to plant the stolen artifact--the Eye--on Barbii so as to evade any pursuers. Upon returning home from China, the real trick for them is to get it back from her, with Stagliano having given it as a "cheap" gift. Of course, those in China responsible for its safe return also get in on the act, hiring a goofy detective (Mike Horner) to hunt it down. As they all find out firsthand, the Eye has an eerie ability to temporarily transport its holders (and those around them) to their fantasies, bringing them to life. What ultimately ensues is a fun, sexy, and fast-paced fuck-flick that's both strong on the plot and steamy on the sex...another fine, forgotten gem from Bruce Seven and Barbii. [read the full review]

review from 8/2/2005:
Brandy Alexander had a great ass. So did Angela Summers and Kym Wilde. If you ever had a doubt, just check out Buttmans Bend Over Babes #2. Buttman (aka John Stagliano) spends at least half of the two hours pointing his camera at these and other behinds. Some might say thats about 30 minutes too much, since Stagliano almost entirely neglects the other aspects of the sex going on while he stands behind the babes. Blowjobs are given only token air time. Intercourse gets even less as Stagliano keeps his roving camera almost stuck to the girls posteriors. This makes the sex almost unbearable to watch. We all enjoy the sight of a great pair of buns, but to shove the shots down our throats endlessly is a bit of overkill. So we can barely appreciate the antics of Carolyn Monroe and Porsche Lynn in a threeway with Tom Byron, where the girls share a great double face frosting. Or Byron at it again with Tashawna, where he gives her the high hard one up the keester. [read the full review]

review from 7/14/2005:
Bend Over Babes #1 is from John Staglianos Buttman series, which is okay if youre really, really, really into looking at womens butts. However, if youd also like to see other parts of the female frame (like a cock in her mouth), you might be greatly disappointed. Stagliano goes overboard with the butt shots. Hell show 30-40 seconds of a girls backside, then switch to maybe 10 seconds of her sucking dick, then go back to the rear view. Too much! Be advised that this Volume (there were six original B.O.Bs) is mostly a compilation, with only four fresh scenes. The other 10+ scenes were snipped from Mystic Pieces, Dance Fire, Salsa Break, Bare Essence, and The Legend of Reggie D. Its really a mish-mash of scenes, with the old clips edited in at odd times and places. The older clips are only partial scenes, and many end with no cumshot. [read the full review]

Real Female Orgasms 2 review summaries:

review from 3/30/2002:
Like the first in this series, Female Orgasms 2 is non-stop female climaxing. There's likely to be something for everyone featured in the 60 scenes contained (over 2 hours in its entirety). Extras include a somewhat silly promo and some pictorials. For those tired of the same old scenes that end with male ejaculation, this one is for you. Another item to appreciate is that the sounds of the women aren't drowned out by goofy music (I continue to ask, who's stupid idea was it to start doing that?!). The only disappointment is that the scenes are quite short. There are times when the women in some portions are still at the peak of their excitement (about to cum again) when the scene suddenly ends. To the editors, I say KEEP IT GOING! We wanna see a girl cumming until she's passed out, crying, or begging to stop. Bottom line: Those seeking a story line, male action, or lengthy scenes...keep looking. Those who enjoy seeing women losing control and expressions of pure ecstasy, this is a must have. [read the full review]

review from 7/18/2021:
Absolutely smoking is probably the best way to describe John Leslie''s "Goin'' Down Slow", an exceptional 1988 release from the actor/director and VCA. Sure, it has a plot--a pretty good one, in fact, involving a nosey, peeping neighbor (Ona Zee), a letter to an adult magazine columnist (Robert Bullock), cheating all around, and even murder and betrayal--but the storyline just can''t help but seem secondary to the blazing hot sex that abounds. Indeed, rife with tension, intensely erotic setups, and stunning beauties, the action in this one truly hits the mark in just about every spot. [read the full review]

Based around an x-rated magazine (i.e Penthouse) in the 80's. John Leslie is the mogul. Dana Lynn is the centerfold. Joey Silvera is a photographer, Robert Bullock a columnist. Shanna McCullough is Bullock's wife. [read the full review]
Corey Thomas'
review from 8/10/2005:
"Goin' Down Slow", John Leslie's second directorial effort after "Nightshift Nurses" is a very different kind of adult film. It has a huge emphasis on storyline and style, rather than sex, which at times makes some of the sexual scenarios seem pointless or uninteresting. The plot itself is amazing: Ironic, full of twists and turns, and unpredictable. It is the porn equivalent of a Hitchcock movie. Ona Z plays a lonely woman who likes to watch her neighbor Ellen's (Shanna McCullough) daily trysts with lover George Anton (John Leslie). Ona's in love with George and thinks that he should be hers. Ellen is married to Martin (Robert Bullock), an advice columnist who goes under the name "Madame Rona". George is Martin's boss. Kathleen Gentry plays Martin's secretary and Joey Silvera plays a photography. Later, when a murder is committed, all of these characters come into play. What happens, I will not say, but I will say that John Leslie makes no easy assumptions. There are a fair amount of sex scenes, but none of them are very long or memorable. [read the full review]
