Review:
Between the appearance of an ever-ready, Elvis-like milkman (Sonny Landham) who sexually services the women of the neighborhood and a returning, free-spirited, 18 year-old-cousin (Jenny Baxter), life is certainly about to get a whole lot less mundane for a trio of young, suburban women. Such is the case for Crystal Sync and Marlene Willoughby, both sexually frustrated and prone to frequent masturbation, and their promiscuous friend, Nancy Dare, in "The Trouble with Young Stuff", an exceptional, 1976 release from VCX and director Joe Sarno. Of course, none of this comes without a cost, as Sync and her cousin, Baxter, have a tenuous history, and both she and Willoughby are in committed, though unfulfilling, relationships. Needless to say, this all creates a sexual powder keg just waiting to go off...and it does.
Chockfull of multiple sexual scenarios involving all manner of combinations of the cast, including an all-girl three-way in which a peeled cucumber is made good use of, it's safe to say that this flick definitely delivers in terms of both the volume of sex and its quality. Indeed, there's a realism that pervades just about every aspect of the film that in many ways sets it apart from others of its time period...or of any time period, for that matter. The characters are relatable, the settings are authentic, and the general ambiance, while still sexual, is so in an inherently believable way. As such, the viewer feels as much as though he (or she) is watching a mainstream release from the era as a porno, and a full immersion in its events is possible. Absent are the campy bits of innuendo, the cheesy setups and jokes, and so on and so forth upon which most adult films rely, and in their place are erotic bits of reality, character development, and genuine emotion...be it erotic or otherwise. In many respects, this flick is a masterpiece of its time, and fans of the Golden Age and/or features shouldn't miss it, even if it has been cut down from its original form...most (all?) of which appears to have been taken from the sex. This one is a top-notch production, and it is distinctly worthy. Hands down and dicks up, it's a winner!
