I bought this one pretty much without having read a lot about it, because most people seemed to have ignored it.. I had only seen the trailer, which blew me away.

Story : Actually there's not a lot to mention here, this is more or less an all-sex video, much in the Andrew Blake style, but more hardcore (as usual for Ninn) and sadly shot on video, though you really can't tell from looking at it (cameraman Barry Wood won the 1999 AVN Award for videography for his work). Jamie Gillis plays a man who forsake the heavens and disrespected God because He took his wife and child. For this, Gillis has been cursed by the 'almighty' (as God is called throughout the movie) to live in an eternity of darkness. All this is explained in voice-over by Gillis, who won the second of 2 awards the feature got in 1999; though there's not a lot of substance to his role, he delivers the monologues very well, and I like his mellow voice.

The Sex: Along with the visuals (and the really great title music) the strength of this feature lies in the sex scenes. There are 7 of them, starting out with Stacy Valentine blowing 2 guys decked out in Venetian costumes/masks (very similar to 'Eyes Wide Shut'), then being DP'ed. Even this looked rather good, even though I don't care for DPs.. the scene was slow moving and intercut with Stacy masturbating in different places (and time periods it seems.. this aspect is never really developed), beforing receiving a great double facial. She has always been a great receiver of facials, esp. in 'Cafe Flesh 2'..

The second scene is not very good, though I may be biased because I don't like Jeanna Fine, who has sex with an Indian guy. The scene starts out with kissing, and there's nothing really special about it. We then get French babe Liza Harper (with a blonde wig on her head), and a guy I frankly don't know, and this is probably the best scene of the movie. Her BJ is very energetic but also really erotic, she seems to really like what she's doing. The scene also has a long anal segment in it, and ends with a very good cum shot, where she takes it in her mouth after he's come. We almost immediately cut to the next scene which is girl/girl and features Raylene (sadly underused), Ashley Renee, and Stacy Valentine. The scene has too many toys in it, and I wonder why they can't simply let the women use their tongues and fingers? That has always turned me on much more...

The next scene has strange sex between Jill Kelly and Eric Price, who plays some sort of Devil (but still has a condom on :)). A fascinating device is used before the actual sex, where a glass piece (with electric light running through it) is inserted into the woman's pussy. She also sits on a table with a dildo stuck onto it, which had a strange 'torture chamber' kind of effect on me. The actual sex is rather boring..

Number 6 has Gillis and Fine talking dirty one to another and apparently playing a game with each other, where the chess pieces are a man and a woman. Both have sex, while their two masters are surveilling their actions. Could be worse, could be better, however there are two cum shots here, with the girl (Brooke Lane) first rubbing the cum on her belly, and after some more sex, receiving a weak facial.

The last scene seems to take place in the present day, and has Stacy Valentine having sex with John Decker. He eats her pussy, she blows him and the fuck vaginally (lying and standing in a pool), then anally, before a cum shot on her breasts and neck ends the scene.

Extras: Here VCA could have been done more.. we have the usual (scene selection etc.) plus a brief audio interview with Stacy, and some written thoughts from Michael Ninn (whose name is actually misspelled 'Micheal' here!) There are 3 trailers, one for 'New Wave Hookers 5', one for 'Shock' and one for 'Diva 4'.

The Verdict : All in all I liked the movie, the athmosphere was mostly very good, with great costumes and sets (though obviously on a limited budget), and the music was (as is often the case with Ninn) very good and varied. The only thing that bugs me a little is that there's simply not a lot going on in the feature, it could have been a bit longer, with more plot exposition, because you are never really sure what is happening.. Maybe not the best DVD to showcase Stacy Valentine (the mentioned Cafe Flesh 2 was better) but a good one nonetheless.
