review from 7/2/2021:
While held in disdain as a selectively-edited hatchet job against the adult film industry by some insiders, 1985''s "Fallen Angels" nevertheless provides an interesting, contemporaneous behind-the-scenes look at the skin flick world of the mid-1980''s. Re-released digitally by Alpha Blue Archives and streaming on AdultEmpire.com''s Unlimited service, this film largely focuses upon a trio of porn starlets new to the industry (Kristara Barrington, Lisa Lake, and a short-termer named Kim), interviewing them (and, where applicable, their boyfriends) at various points over a several month period. review from 7/17/2018:
The Original Sex Academy is a prime example of how adult movies went wrong when they switched from shot on film productions to shot on video productions. The Original Sex Academy capitalizes on the name of Police Academy, but that is as far as any connection between the two movies. The Original Sex Academy is a series of sex scenes with some plotted portions between them to make the movie look like a feature movie. The sex scenes are average. There isn't any real reason to see this movie. Gourmet Video has done a better than their average job but still not average job with their DVD release with acceptable video and audio quality. review from 6/18/2016:
A magazine writer, Kevin James, gets a lot more (...ass, that is...) than he bargains for when his editor, who already stole his girlfriend, begins giving out his home phone number to the women who want to meet the anal sex guru who pens their favorite column. Such is the case in "Dr. Anal", a decent, 1985 release from GVC and Drea. [read the full review]

Tongue in Groove's
review from 12/2/2004:
Beyond Desire is a typical couples film from the 1980s (1983 to be specific) in that the feature relies heavily on dialogue and plot and only offers short snippets of sex (4-5 minutes each). There is bad acting throughout, with the notable exception of John Leslie, who plays a private investigator staying in a whorehouse (dont ask why; its too stupid to explain) and doing just about all the hookers in the place. There are some huge names in this feature, including Gina Carrera, Nina Hartley, Seka, and Vanessa del Rio, who, unfortunately, gets only one short sex scene towards the end of the 83 minutes. Nina is almost unrecognizable in a black wig. Little Oral Annie makes a brief appearance sucking off a couple guys. Kristara Barrington graces the first scene and takes a nice facial one of only three in the nine-scene flick. Patti Petit has the only anal action. The DVD offers the following extras: Photo Gallery, Other Titles, Cast, Contact and Website info, and a Language (English and Spanish only) Option. [read the full review]

review from 6/21/2016:
When a group of alien mermaids led by Taija Rae finds that the Earth's water is too polluted for their health, they need to leave...pronto. Unfortunately, one of their kind, Vanessa D'Oro, is enjoying the sex on the planet far too much to join them, despite the fact that it will mean her demise. So, as any good alien mermaid leader would, Taija seeks out the help of the rough-around-the-edges good guy, John Leslie--who's apparently a "mermaid whisperer" of sorts--to help. Such is the case in "Talk Dirty to Me 4", an overall-good, 1986 release from Ned Morehead and Dreamland Entertainment. [read the full review]

review from 12/20/2018:
The road to Hell may be paved with good intentions, but it's an all-out, freak-filled fuck-fest once you get there, at least that's if the diabolical director of the dirty, Greg Dark, is to be believed. Such is the case in his two-part classic series from 1986 and VCA, "The Devil in Miss Jones 3 and 4", that finds the gorgeous, blonde punk porner and AVN Hall-of-Famer, Lois Ayres (as the seemingly timid and troubled "Justine Jones"), slamming her head into the wall whilst out revenge-fucking and then ending up in the perverted pits of Hell. review from 1/2/2008:
To my surprise and delight, DMJ 3 and DMJ 4 are in fact one film. While titled as sequels to Damiano's 1973 masterpiece, DMJ 3 /4 is closer to a remake, or even more appropriately, a re-telling of Damiano's tale. In fact, besides the name of the heroine and the film itself, as well as the basic premise of a woman dying and ending up in Hell, this film has no similarities to either of the earlier two entries in the series. review from 8/2/2003:
VCA has collected Devil in Miss Jones 3: A New Beginning and Devil in Miss Jones 4: The Final Outrage together for this set which makes sense since the two films are actually one film split in half. Gregory Dark's set of two films is very different than Gerard Damiano's original film and are very much a product of the 80s in their visual stylings. The two films are well done and definately worth seeing. VCA has done a good job with their release of the two films on this set with good video despite lacking extras. [read the full review]

review from 9/23/2014:
It's 80s punk-kink to the max when the lovely ladies of Jamie Gillis' and Jack Baker's freaky escort agency don their headphones and take in the intoxicating tunes of their new wave music. With the sexy sounds both impairing their judgment and overriding their inhibitions, these young women can (and will) do just about anything...and their assorted customers are most certainly the winners. Such is the case in the Dark Brothers' classic production, "New Wave Hookers", from VCA Pictures. [read the full review]
Corey Thomas'
review from 11/27/2005:
The Dark Brothers' "New Wave Hookers" was an original (before the numerous sequels), hot, hilarious movie upon its release in 1985 and some, but not all of those elements hold up today. The story involves two slackers, Jimmy (Jamie Gillis) and Jamal (Jack Baker), who spend their time drinking beer and watching porn videos. As the movie begins, Jimmy tells Jamal they should become pimps and open an escort service, New Wave Hookers, where the girls would fuck to new wave music. They soon fall asleep, where they are transported into another world: They now run New Wave Hookers Incorporated and have a "dog" (Steve Powers), who telepathically receives phone calls. Their first girl is Candy (Desiree Lane), who skates into their office. Jimmy and the "dog" try her out, while Jimmy watches and masturbates (Jack Baker was actually a legitimate actor, playing Sticks on "Happy Days", and his sexual acts are limited to self-gratification and oral sex). Next Brooke Fields and Kimberly Carson visit a barely recognizable Peter North, who lives in a tent. [read the full review]

review from 1/23/2003:
New Wave Hookers is not a film for everyone and will probably not be enjoyed by the average raincoater crowd. For viewers that like an adult film where the plot is important for the film and the sex fits into the film, this might be the film for you. Bear in mind though when selecting this film that the film is weird, purposely so, and if that is not your thing, you'll want to pass on this film. [read the full review]
