In my review of MANPLAY 04, I suggested that perhaps these were audition tapes for Titan. They may be, but in MANPLAY 05 we have one hot film! The format is the same: a group of guys are let loose in a space with two cameramen and seem to do as the spirit takes them. The men in 04 were not attractive. Those in 05 are to die for! It is divided into two sections Down in the Garage and Up in the Loft. Down in the Garage features something not typical of Titan: two twinks. But what twinks they are! The first of these, Xavier (aka Xavier Collins) has been seen in numerous videos but never before with real Titan men. Xavier is a voracious cocksucker and seems to be in seventh heaven playing with the big boys. The other twink is a skinny young guy who goes by the name Johnny or Johnny Doom as in Manplay 01. For those of you who are into the "wrestling" videos you are sure to love this new release from Titan. The dvd quality is excellent and also includes a bonus scene. It begins with York Powers coaching Trenton Comeaux and Nick Cannon on some holds to teach newcomer Anthony Gallo. After Trenton and Nick lose their trunks in the ring it isnt long before York and Anthony are right in after them. Its nice to know there are some studios you can always count on for quality porn. I have yet to be disappointed by a Titan DVD, and this one is no exception. Following in the Titan tradition, there are no twinkie boys here. Titan has jam- packed this DVD with older, maturer guys, who, for the most part, are REALLY into their scenes. There are no young gay-for-pay studs who look like they would rather be having a root canal than being fucked here. The Coachs Instruction York Powers (the coach) is teaching Anthony Gallo, Nick Cannon and Trenton Comeaux some new wrestling moves. After a little bit of rolling around on the mat, they strip down and get right to the main event: fucking the hell out of Trenton. Anthony and York takes turns on top, while Nick just stands at the sidelines and watches (apparently Nick must have been having some major wood problems, as he doesnt do much in this scene at all). Anthony looks like he has eaten 1 to many HO-HOs, but he makes up for it with his passion for his work. [read the full review]

But a few weeks after its release, complaints from customers started popping up on the internet. People were put off by the overuse of MTV style editing, superimposed images, and strobing color effects. Sure, as art, it looked great, but for porn, it was hard to tell what was going on with all those special effects. In an unprecedented move, Titan went back and re-edited Fallen Angel 2, promising to leave out most of the artsy fartsy stuff, and concentrate on what people really wanted to see: hot, leathery mansex. Thus the hardcore sex edit was born. Luckily for us DVD owners, the original version never made it to DVD, so you dont have to worry about what version you are getting. Things start out with Kyle Branden and his new slave, Alex Stone, sitting back and watching a big leather orgy unfold. The DVD edition also turned my head around--making me understand, to some extent, the thrill of authentic leather S&M. I wish I could report that FA2: Descending, as they call it in the opening credits, lives up to the original. But how often does that happen? The film has its moments, but there's little here that will thrill anyone other than die-hard fans of the performers or the sub-genre. Firstly, the entire movie is one long orgy sequence, with no real form or continuity. While the guys are undoubtedly into what they're doing, the action is too similar for too long, too constant and unfocused. There are no real beginnings and endings. [read the full review]
