Review brief: "JUST LIKE GAUGUIN, I RAN AWAY FROM CIVILIZATION IN SEARCH OF THE DREAM OF FINDING THE LOST PARADISE... AND THE TROPIC SEIZED ME BETWEEN THE LEGS. NOW IT GOVERNS MY ENTIRE BODY, AND MY MIND WATCHES, POWERLESS, AS IT DIRECTS MY OBSCENE ACTS..." JOY KISS  THE STORY SO FAR (Joy Kiss who?)   In a nutshell: French director Pierre Woodman is back to the tropical Dreamlands (Bali, The Seychelles, Kawai) where his career (a highly enviable one) started, amidst flying rumors of the cruelest kind, not so many years ago ('93). It doesn't matter what you might have heard through the grapevine. With Michel Ricaud tragically gone, Berth Milton Jr., head of the Private bullpen, bet his last (metaphorical) dime on this dark horse and WON.

Review brief: THE STORY SO FAR (Love ain't here anymore) Another fine character study from Jake and the Gang. This time the Brothers bring their crazy monster antics to the streets of Prague. The city looks ravishing and majestic as usual, and you can't help but thinking: this is where R.M. Rilke had the first inspiration for The Sonnets to Orpheus. This is where Franz Kafka got the idea for the cockroach thing. And this is probably where some strangely-garbed black guys knocked a young Czech out with boxing gloves, only to reanimate her by slapping their big dicks against her face. It is probably in tourist guides too. Jake is not there, of course. Still bravely on the lam, and feeling the heat closing in, he left Prides of the 'Hood Nacho Vidal and TT Boy to mind the Monster shop.

Review brief: THE STORY SO FAR It's good to be smart. If the movie you're reviewing is boring and you're a smart guy, you can always come up with some clever-clever thing to say, you know, the oblique and unconventional approach to your porn experience, the funny anecdote, what you were eating while watching the fuckers fuck, if you fell asleep while skipping through the chapters, and so on. Well, to paraphrase Groucho Marx, we'd better call a smart guy then 'cos, unfortunately, this reviewer is a big and unimaginative nerd and you can expect none of the above from him. To be honest, I knew from the start what to expect from "Precious Pink 2", since PP is some sort of spin-off of an equally bland and anonymous Hustler series, "High Octane". Reviewers had warned me, friends had warned me. Still I fell right into the trap, but for two very different reasons: number one, because Hungarian new teen sensation Sophie was on the cover. Number two, because this series, along with High Octane, represented a mystery to me.

Directed by: Pierre Woodman

Review brief: The story so far No spicy anecdotes or wild Woodman's trivia, this time. The two previous volumes, 9 and 10, had some girls not up to Pierre's standards, at least according to some very jaded viewers. With Hustler XXX 11 Woodman plays a couple of his aces, Monika Sweet and the Siberian bombshell Alice. A couple of clips come straight from the bottom of the barrell, but it's nice to see breathtaking beauty in XXX again. The sex You know that, with Woodman, the sex follows a rigid ritual: all the girls do anal (or dp, when more males are available) and get oral cumshots, it's in the contract.

Directed by: Pierre Woodman

Review brief: The story so far 1998 is an year of change for Woodman: new contract, new label, new artistic direction. He tells the press that he's not interested in gangbangs anymore and that, from that moment on, he'll concentrate his attention on "real-life stories and relationships". So it was even more surprising when, at the end of '99, Private announced Pierre's new series, "Superfuckers", apparently devoted to all the things the French film-maker had just abjured: hard anal sex and gapes, orgies and bondage. Sure, this new format gave Woodman the chance to use all the unsold clips he had laying around, but Superfuckers was hardly just a collection of vignettes: a truly gorgeous Rumanian called Dayana Kill hosted the video, sexily posing and indroducing the different chapters of this anal opus, adding an element of tease and anticipation unprecedented for Woodman and Private.

Review brief: The story so far - I know many of you felt disappointed by Brazilian Snake, Woodman's first full feature to come out under the Hustler's banner after the Woodman/Private breakup (and the Woodman/Tania breakup, for that matter). It didn't turn out to be the milestone that many had hoped for and, in fact, it has nothing new or milestone-y. It just picks up where "Exotic Illusions" (Private Gold 50) had left a few months ago. No Clive McLean golden moments. No Flyntesque twists.

Review brief: The story so far - So, it's the 10th installment of Hustler's XXX and, if you just forgot what this is all about, a blurb on the cover is there to remind you that this is "100 Woodman". Which mainly means fresh faced young beauties that you've seen anywhere else before and that you're likely not to see ever again. The formula has been working fine for almost a decade, so why change it? Well, at least don't expect Woodman to change it. I know that in these days of compulsive ass worshipping and furious flesh hunting Pierre's videos may look tame to some. But, that said, you can expect these vignettes to have the same no-nonsense, all sex approach of the Superfuckers series. This is as gonzo as Pierre gets, no gloss, no tedious mannerisms to water down the sexual tension. And no dubbing either, thank God (that dubbing, that's... surreal)! The mandatory voice-over (you didn't think you could save yourself from that too, did you?) introduces us to the scenes. They always start with a brief tease sequence (that I wish could last longer), and then it's Woodman by the numbers.
