The story so far
1998 is an year of change for Woodman: new contract, new label, new artistic direction. He tells the press that he's not interested in gangbangs anymore and that, from that moment on, he'll concentrate his attention on "real-life stories and relationships". So it was even more surprising when, at the end of '99, Private announced Pierre's new series, "Superfuckers", apparently devoted to all the things the French film-maker had just abjured: hard anal sex and gapes, orgies and bondage. Sure, this new format gave Woodman the chance to use all the unsold clips he had laying around, but Superfuckers was hardly just a collection of vignettes: a truly gorgeous Rumanian called Dayana Kill hosted the video, sexily posing and indroducing the different chapters of this anal opus, adding an element of tease and anticipation unprecedented for Woodman and Private. The rest was a Woodman's Fantasia: more lovely women, a casting, with Pierre, Gabi Wolf and the crew picking up girls from the street, a pov scene, light s/m and finally a bonafide gang-bang, with one cute Hungarian called Emese and ten guys. Superfuckers 1 was a smash hit and reviews were raving.
That, as they say, was then...
The now is Hustler's Superfuckers 13 (shot around November 2001). It imitates the original right from the cover art and graphics but, unfortunately, proves to be a rather disappointing clone.
The sex (anal sex logistics)
Is Superfuckers just a compilation of clips? As I've said, hardly. Pierre used this container formula to throw in all his styles and obsessions, in a crescendo of sexual tension and anticipation. Each installment had its own structure and everything was beautifully glued together by the presence of a sexy hostess who could, or could not, "get it" in the last scene. The new Superfuckers, instead, is just that: an incoherent collection of odds and ends, scenes that would be considered as average in any of the "XXX" videos plus, and that's the major flaw, a couple of behind the scenes clips in the style of "Castings".
Woodman is still in charge of Private's Castings and the next chapters will feature many of his new girls. But of course he's not allowed (or very unwilling) to use the Top Models X material. One day this stuff will look great in an all new Hustler's Casting X, but as it is, it simply feels like filler. After the first view, you probably will want to skip through the less intense scenes and the two reports, realizing in the end that much too much water has been added to your fine Chianti. Add to this the fact that, just a few weeks after the vhs hit the stores, the first installment of a brand new series called "Anal Intensive" (Woodman aping his old pupil Jocelyn/Jean-Yves?) also came out and the feeling of slightly deceit will get stronger. Wasn't being "anal intensive" a prerogative of Superfuckers? Intensity has always been the best quality of this series, and you don't find much of that in volume 13.
And no, no cocks for the pretty hostess.

Let's review the girls of Superfuckers 13 with the help of their pygmalion himself.

POCAHONTAS
is the hostess. She looks like a china doll, so... hands off, or she'll break. In fact, nobody (but a golden dildo) touches her. Frustration.

ANGEL/PASCAL ST. JAMES/JAMES BROSSMAN
Angel is a very cute blonde with the body and the moves of a dancer. Pierre "surprises" her while she's in the kitchen doing the dishes, until James and Pascal show up and start doing her. Best girl and best scene of the dvd. A few vidcaps will be more eloquent than my words.

GABY MARCEAU/IANN SCOTT
Well, Gaby is always Gaby. We're in Marbella on the set of Bitches, summer 2001, with big gun Iann Scott. A pictorial that ended up in Top Models X (#?) and then in Barely Legal Hardcore 5. Hustler added "funny" captions to the sequence ("The French call this art. Who's gonna argue?"), probably aware of the flimsy nature of the material.

LYUDMILLA/TITOF/GREG
Lyudmilla is one of those apparently meek and shy girls that sometimes pop up in Pierre's movies, the kind of girls he doesn't seem to like too much, although he traditionally brings out the best from the quiet ones (while endlessly fighting with hot heads and rebels).

DORA/ORSOLYA
The bondage bit. Lesbo pairing with assorted s/m paraphernalia. Interesting (skip! skip!).

SANDRA RUSSO/HAKIM/BOB TERMINATOR
Back in Ibiza for this Hustler XXX/Top Models X pictorial, on the set of "Happy Birthday". I really love Sandra but I'm still skipping.

ANNETT/ALBERTO RAY
Pierre meets Annett while she's at the bookstore checking some tomes. Funny choice, 'cos in Top Models X 12 he writes of this tall and big-breasted Brazilian-Hungarian: "She has a chicken wing ("une aile de poulet") instead of a brain and it's impossible to communicate with her". Annett (who also stars in Cristophe's Big Natural Tits 4) will be back in Castings 33, where we'll see if the lack of communication helped her save her anal purity (no, it didn't).

So, do I buy it?
I didn't like the bric-a-brac nature of this failed analsexplotion (remember Superfuckers 1?). Buy it if you're a serious collector, otherwise you can just rent it or wait for the next sale. Some interesting girls will be in the upcoming installments of both Superfuckers and Anal Intensive, so I really hope they can improve the formula, adding some substance and ditching once and for all the Hustler humor and the dodgy jingles, not to mention the trademark bad, bad dubbing.
Two stars overall, but even less for the effort.
