Soon after Blake's first movie was released, imitators filed onto video store shelves as fast as modern distribution channels would allow them. Almost all of them were an embarrassment. It seemed that the copy-cats missed the point, entirely. Andrew Blake's movies weren't sexy because the actresses wore sunglasses, or because the music was moody. Those movies were sexy because the girls looked better than they ever did anywhere else, and along with being a true professional, Blake understood the power of tease.

See, it's doing all kinds of mental gymnastics at the moment. Watching an extra large cast of A-list porn stars fuck on my television set has a way of doing that. Most top of the line porn directors have their own distinctive styles; Holliday is no different on that count. Yet, his individualism doesn't distinguish itself in a showy look-how-close-I- can-make-porn-resemble-real-movies kind of way. He's a pornographer and Paradise Hole is pornography. It's that simple. Sure, it has Holliday's sense of humor and his usual scripted silliness, but it also has Syndee Steele taking it up the ass and Tiffany Mynx taking it on the face.

Freaked out, but turned on. Now, don't go expecting haiku in this VCA release; there are none to be found. And if there were any, they'd be better than mine, to be sure. What you will find, on the other hand, is a brain in a jar, a hot 70's era virgin sucking dick, a man who gets sick at the thought of sex with Raylene, two fucking mimes, and of course, Stacy Valentine and a man with two dildos for horns. Director Antonio Passolini is a lot like David Lynch on viagra, but this is not weirdness for weirdness' sake. In fact, this is the whacked- out sequel to someone else's whacked-out original- -Rinse Dream's Cafe Flesh.

Directed By: Michael Ninn Among the many extra's on VCA's Shayla's Web is an interview with Michael Ninn in which he says his first loyalty as a director is to himself. That can sound pretty egotistical, and occasionally you might hear talk of "technical" directors like Ninn being self indulgent, but I suspect his true loyalties lie elsewhere. So much of what's on this DVD is what I've been looking for as a consumer that it's hard to believe that he and VCA had anyone but their customers at the center of their collective agenda. Professionalism and sexual heat are not mutually exclusive as this DVD proves. Shayla's Web is thoughtful, entertaining, well shot, packed with extras, and most importantly, it is full of hot action. Here, Ninn explores the idea of internet sexual addiction.

Review brief: Starring: Stacy Valentine Director: Wit Maverick Should I ever be struck by a bus and live, chances are the first thing I'll say upon being revived will be, "Forget about me! How's Stacy Valentine?" To put it mildly, I'm a fan. And why shouldn't I be? She's a got super heroine's body, a sweet and wild attitude, and she willingly does all those things I secretly want women to be doing. Unfortunately, she's never done those things to me. VCA, however, puts itself in the position of being my personal Mr. Rourke as their Chasing Stacy DVD suggests my fantasy might come true after all. I have to admit, considering they don't know just how perverse or elaborate my fantasies can be, they've done a fantastic job. As a virtual sex title, Chasing Stacy gets the job done, and done well. But it's more than just a "sex simulation." It's a game, and a mini greatest hits compilation, as well.

A group of easily aroused women meet once a week to swap sexual stories and fantasies, and of course, once each begins her tale, we fade into her stand alone sex scene. And yes, the scenes involve delivery men, pool boys, grocery clerks, and other staples of porn plot professions. Yet, it doesn't matter what the men do for a living, or how they end up between the ladies' thighs, because like any good porn it's about how hot the sex is, and frankly, the sex is pretty hot. Of course, this is DVD porn, so we get a some extra features the VHS renters miss out on. Not the least of which are multiple angles that actually work instead of annoy.
